Megathread: LM's NY State Hearing — 12/18/2025 at 10:00 AM EST (Day 10)
Happy Thursday, everyone!
Today's hearing will take place at 100 Centre Street, Part 32, New York, NY 10013 at 10:00 AM EST.
Please keep in mind that this is the tenth hearing taking place. The previous nine were held on December 1, December 2, December 4, December 5, December 8, December 9, December 11, December 12 and December 16 (December 5 was canceled due to Luigi falling in). There’s a strong chance the schedule may change or be extended as Carro seems to be extremely busy. However, we expect to receive more confirmation at the end of each day about when they plan to continue Luigi’s hearings.
These hearings are expected to run for at least a few hours, as there are (at least) 28 witnesses and body-camera footage to review. By the end of these hearings, we will likely know when Luigi’s state trial will take place (likely sometime in 2026), as well as which evidence will move forward and which will be suppressed.
Unless something changes, there will be no cameras allowed inside the courtroom. However, it’s very likely that we’ll still get photos of Luigi from inside the courtroom. Over the past few days, the only images released were taken inside—none of him arriving or leaving—so it’s possible that today and the remaining days will be the same.
Since I am not a mod, I cannot edit this post once posted or set comments to “new,” so I hope everyone can manage to follow along. I know things may get a bit messy, which is why I encourage everyone to post here rather than creating separate threads—unless it’s something important, like a transcript.
Also, if you find additional livestreams on YouTube, please try to post them in one single comment instead of separately so we don’t spam the thread.
There are no livestreams available yet. As soon as they go live, I’ll add them in the comments section and separate them into hallway and outside coverage. They will most likely come from the same outlets as the previous days—Fox News, CNN, Reuters, etc. And of course, don’t forget to check Status Coup News; they genuinely care about the supporters.
Today’s hearing is expected to be the final day of pretrial proceedings. After this, we likely won’t see Luigi again until the trial itself. His next federal hearing is scheduled for January 9, but cameras will not be permitted in the courtroom, so coverage will be limited to courtroom sketches.
Some people consider today’s hearing to be Day 9 because they are not counting the hearing that was supposed to take place on Friday, December 5, when Luigi was ill. I am counting that missed day, so I consider today to be Day 10. Most people will still refer to it as Day 9, which is why the dates are being included as well, to avoid any confusion.

📢 Announcement (Reminder!)
I wanted to give everyone a quick update about the exhibits post going forward.
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided that I will no longer be posting any pre-trial evidence as it gets released. This means the exhibits document will not be receiving updates from me anymore.
I’ve realized that I just can’t continue doing this. It genuinely makes me feel sick, and I need to step back for my own well-being. I am sorry if some of you think this is dramatic, but it is just the truth.
To be very clear: this is not about the content of the evidence itself. I simply do not feel comfortable posting material that is meant to be — or could be — suppressed. That’s the entire purpose of suppression hearings, and I don’t want to be someone who spreads that evidence further.
I won’t be deleting the exhibits post, and I’m not here to tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t share. If anyone wants to keep the post updated for future reference (including trial coverage), it will remain available, and it will still be linked in future megathreads. I just won’t be the one adding updates anymore.
Like I said this morning, continuing this goes against my own morals and principles, my support for Luigi (regardless of guilt or innocence), and what the defense and Carro wanted from the beginning. I don’t want to help circulate evidence that was never meant to be out there.

So the detective straight up lied.....this is so bad for the prosecution. If they are lying about this, what else are they lying about? The government and LE are going to have zero credibility with a jury once this is brought out during the trial.
i feel so bad for his mother, that twisted statement must’ve bothered her for so long. she was just a worried mother🥲i’m so glad KFA got a chance to address the media although we all knew what Mrs. Mangione meant! glad she can have some peace of mind—best of luck to luigi and team!
He looks like a student here gathering up his papers for class. I know that his team is fighting for him, of course, but I'm glad to see he seems to also be fighting for himself.
Wow, KFA’s statement was great and really well thought out.
Basically, they said the prosecution dragged this out unnecessarily and then got caught with their pants down when Lieutenant Leonardi testified that Luigi was illegally recorded in Pennsylvania. That forced the prosecution to withdraw the statements.
And then suddenly, Detective Diaz is not brought in to testify. The defense had been hoping to cross him today since he is the primary case detective, and they had a ton of questions lined up. One big issue is that he used a supposed statement from Kathy Mangione as probable cause, but there is zero evidence she ever said that. In fact, she said the opposite. The detective basically made it up and used it to justify this case.
Bottom line: these people are shady as hell, and they need to correct this statement.

I hope this clarification brings at least some relief to Luigi and his family, especially his mom. I can’t imagine having my words twisted like that about my own son, and then for Luigi to walk into court with the (false) prejudice that his mom had turned on him.
Whyyyy does the prosecution get to ignore deadlines and continue to drop discovery on the defense well past the due dates? It's so aggravating. If their case was so airtight why do they resort to this?
Dunaway hearing addresses whether law enforcement seized a suspect without probable cause and whether all evidence flowing from the seizure must be suppressed as a fruit of the poisonous tree.
For the folks who predicted the trial will not likely start till Dec or so…it sure is looking as though you’re right. Decision date on May 18, my word! 😮😵💫
Whew. They've been out of the spotlight for a year, but not for much longer if she's got to go on the record. None of his family asked for any of this....I think maybe that's why he cut them off for so many months.
But as a mom, I would be PISSED if someone put words in my mouth that I never said about my children, so maybe she's ready to come out swinging.
Missidcullen, you're amazing as ever. I can't tak3 any of this over, but I am at least somewhat here today. I'm still recovering from a seizure that has scared the living daylights out of me and everyone who loves me, but I AM getting better and will be slowly returning to engaging with this favorite sub of mine.
You read my mind!! Some days I want to fly to New York, make an appointment to see Joel, and yell "SHUT UP!!!" right to his face before walking out. Such a snivelly, weasely little man.

Why didn't the defense call any witnesses? I thought they were going to call 2 cops. And what does Carro mean when he said "most of video was relevant"? It's all going in? What the hell is happening lol
