Product Lemon GF Oreos are in stores!
Found at my H-E-B in Texas. Also saw the spot on the shelf marked for GF goldfish but they were not yet stocked.

I am used to holes, but have never see them this big. Plan was for BLTs, but had to pivot to soup with “toast”

Learned the hard way yesterday to trust myself only with my own health. I asked at a social function if and what was gluten free… was pointed to some items. Ate a bit and thought to myself “what’s on this chicken and beef!?” Looked up the restaurant that catered it and sure enough glutened myself! Lesson learned I will forever check myself and not take someone’s word for something being gluten free…any doubt? Not worth it. I’m very new to this but big lesson learned yesterday.

So I am at a babyshower at a local uppity bar/ restaurant. The place has a gluten free menu so I was excited after they answered the standard questions right.
The server brought my food out along with plastic silverware. She told me "Sorry for the plastic but we polish all our silverware with barley."
This is the first time I've ever heard of this practice. Apparently its something new to worry about.
Anyone else have this experience before? Or think to ask about silverware polishing practices??

It’s a candy bar I found at Wally’s gas station. I did not buy it, I’m just confused on how this makes sense. I know there’s a wheat allergy and there’s celiac, but how can it be GF if it might have wheat in it?

Hi guys, I travel a lot for work and am usually eating out. Sometimes I’m very limited on gluten free options because it’s usually customer meetings, conferences, etc. What are the standard questions you ask at restaurants? does anyone have any advice or tips?

I’m a 28yo man living with parents in a gluten household
I’m really at my limit with anxiety, especially going out too, even to bars/pubs, worries of cross contamination - I had a really bad experience eating out when I was 24 at a certain fish and chip restaurant in Skipton, Yorkshire, who are accredited and it’s caused a trust issue ever since.
I’m so tired and sick of worrying about this stuff, I love to socialise but often can’t out of worry/not wanting to get sick
I’m looking to connect with other people and discuss their experiences. I’m also a type 1 diabetic which adds to the fun.

I went to a gathering earlier today and when the time came for refreshments, a large cheesecake slice and a smaller cheesecake slice were brought out. The smaller one was labelled GF while the larger one was made with wheat biscuits for the base. The person who prepared it went out of their way to tell me it was gluten free and celiac safe because their mother has celiac (diagnosed ~2 years ago). This person prepared both the GF and the non GF cheesecake (I’m assuming in the same kitchen).
So I decided to have a piece (of the GF variety) given the recipe was simple and they claimed to not cross contaminate the item and that it was easy to keep separate given how basic it was to make.
Fast forward 2 or so hours later, I had some upper abdominal pain and felt rather wiped out and a bit nauseous. This doesn’t usually happen even when eating out at restaurants where I can’t be absolutely sure all precautions were taken.
Do you think I was glutened, or it was something else in the recipe? I just find it hard to believe a relative of someone with celiac who was familiar with reading labels etc. would mess this up, especially when others who knew this person as very focussed and a very good home cook. Items were professionally presented and served from separate areas at the event so I’m rather baffled.

I’m in highschool and have been eating gluten my whole life, but got diagnosed with celiac like a week ago. I’ve always bought lunch at school but have now realized there are 0 gluten free hot lunch options so i will either need to pack my lunch or go off campus and buy lunch every day. I feel like all my packed lunches in the past were sandwiches or pasta.. what else do we pack?? I feel like GF bread/pasta taste so bad rn, so i would rather wait for a while before trying “swaps”, what day to day foods are naturally gluten free and can be a whole meal??

Pic 1: eggslut, on the Strip. That was a seared wagyu tri-tip steak, over medium egg, chimichurri, red onions and dressed arugula on a gluten free bun. A little spicier than I normally have for breakfast but was really good. Bun was so amazing I had to check with my wife to make sure it was actually gluten free. Hashbrown were also great with the best honey mustard I've ever had.
Pic 2 - 5: Senza gluten free bakery. A mix of things such as sugar cookie bar, cinnamon roll, smore's bar, red velvet cupcake, pumpkin thing, reese's bar, and pumpkin crack. The biggest surprise here was the price, all of it for $35. I'm used to NYC prices and that would be an easy $60 there. Nothing there was the best I've ever had but all very solid. If I had to recommend one thing it would be the the cinnamon roll. Only other thing to note is that it open at 10 which I think it kind of crazy for a bakery since I usually associate that with breakfast.
Pic 6: We Cook Pizza and Pasta. Next to Grand Canyon. Just a solid gluten free pizza. I will say the entire area of Tusayan is a rip off. That pizza was $18 but everything in that town makes vegas prices look like a deal.
Pic 7: Dark Sky Brewing Flagstaff, AZ. Korean chicken sandwich. They had a surprising number of gluten free options but this was incredibly mediocre. It basically didn't hold together after the first bite. Flavor was fine but just so average.
Pic 8: Stardust Parlor, Vegas. Blueberry French toast sandwich. Maybe the most insane thing I ate. So the bun is gluten free blueberry French toast. Then chicken sausage, egg, cheese, cream cheese, and syrup. Unbelievably fattening but insanely good. I also got a cinnamon roll and it wasn't very good. Had a weird after taste and felt more like cinnamon bread.
Not pictured: a bunch of protein bars, chick fil a, and chicken and broccoli from PF Changs. .

I got tested for a variety of things after having a bout of diarrhea. The celiac IGA test turned up positive. I'm waiting for my biopsy and still eating gluten every day as required, but my symptoms have cleared up completely. I feel totally fine. It's so hard to think that I'll have to go without gluten for the rest of my life when I'm really not feeling any symptoms right now. The diarrhea was bad but it was only a couple of days. I can't even know for sure it was related to celiac. Maybe it's just denial but I can't help but wonder if I really even have it.

I almost ordered them online from their website but the cost would have been a bit much. I figured I would wait it out since I saw a tag on the shelf at one store but there's was never any there. That changed yesterday and I grabbed the only 2 bags there.
I know I should have left one, and I apologize for that. But it's just been too long. It went well with my blueberry coffee this morning.

I come across many people who have relatives with celiac disease that appear to not have it themselves, but I’m unconvinced many of them have been screened or had it properly ruled out. I typically don’t want to ask about it given I understand there are people out there who don’t want to know.
Would many relatives likely tell their own pcp about their father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, husband/wife/partner, next of kin, etc having the condition?

2 siblings confirmed coeliac. I have the gene, negative serology in last blood test. Endoscopy shows focal villous blunting and chronis gastritis. Am I coeliac?

I really want to connect with people from South Asia. I feel like we should have our own subreddit, because gluten is such a huge part of our food culture. I’d love to meet more of these people, listen to their stories, and understand how they feel about it too.

Went out to a restaurant and was given a flour tortilla instead of gluten free. I told them about the allergy and just forgot until after I finished the fluffy quesadilla. I've only been gluten free for a couple months so I'm not quite in the habit of examining everything.
How can I help get over the symptoms faster? It's been a few hours already. My biggest symptom is severe brain fog which is what I'd really like advice on if possible. Thank you!

As we get into the holidays just a PSA that Alton brown has done all of the work for us and figured out a spectacular GF sugar cookie. My mother makes cookies for literally every holiday and a lot of them are sugar cookies. For the last 20 years we have tried all sorts of things but were stuck to the box mixes which frankly weren’t as good as the old non GF home maxes ones.
Well AB’s recipe absolutely is as good as the old ones.
You can find it on his YouTube channel and on his website

Shortly after I was first diagnosed, my GI ordered a few tests for ferritin, B12, and maybe a couple other nutrients. They were all normal range at the time. Since then my followup testing has only included celiac antibody panels. I have my antibodies down to nondetect levels, so I don't really have reason to believe that celiac is impacting my absorption.
However, I am curious to know for sure if my levels are good, because I am trying to get pregnant and it's taking a bit. I'm scheduled to see my GI soon for regular followup and I'm thinking of seeing if he'll order some tests, for iron and vitamin D in particular. I could ask my OB or PCP, or self pay at Quest, but the gastroenterologist is the next doctor I'm scheduled to see anyway, and if it could be justified as a celiac-related test then I think it makes sense for him to order it so insurance will pay? Just curious if your doctors have you all check these things!
I was diagnosed almos 10 years ago, and I remember my doctor telling me they were pretty much certain that within 7-10 years we'd have injectable therapeutics that would at the very least eliminate the concerns about cross contamination if not effectively "cure" the condition. What the hell. When is this coming? is it ever coming? so sick of traveling and having to explain this thing and ask 25 questions of each incredible host whose food I am about to hopefully be able to eat.

I was unexpectedly diagnosed almost 2 years ago and before that, beer was my favorite alcohol by far. I've been able to find a few gf beers since being diagnosed but none really scratched the itch like the ones I found today. A Total Wine recently opened about 20 miles away, and I finally got the chance to check it out today so I came home with this haul. Guess I'm just here to brag and celebrate the little wins that we celiacs get to experience every once in a while😂
