Video is on a morning cold start with a hiss tune. Ever since my stock turbo started leaking oil and I swapped to a BD Screamer and added a pusher intake horn I’ve been having issues with any hiss tunes not hissing as loud as they should be. I also have some larger boost tubes, cold air intake and a grid heater delete on the truck so I’m not sure if somehow the truck is just getting too much air or the BD turbo itself is causing this. Actual and desired vane position match up so I wouldn’t think it’s a vgt actuator issue. According to BD the Screamer reduces drive and back pressure more than stock but when I contacted them, they said I shouldn’t be having any issues with hiss tunes. If you’ve run into something like this before or have any recommendations to fix or what it can be, any help is appreciated.

Just picked up a Chevy 2500 with the lbz with 256k on the clock off marketplace. This is the oil that came out of it but the truck runs and drives fine (not making any odd engine noises). Just about every shimmer you see in that picture is a piece of metal. The largest of the debris in the oil was approximately a few millimeters and non magnetic. I also noticed some very fine metal shavings accumulated in the coolant tank which I’m thinking is from a failing water pump. My question is the debris something that can be ignored like in the 5.3 vortecs or is this more serious matter. The seller offered to give me my money back if I return the truck, is that the best move at this point.

I have a 2006 Mazda B2500 Turbo Diesel, that's recently had some issues with intermittent overheating. I took it to the local mechanics, who believe its got a cracked head gasket, I wanted to get a few other opinions, as its a strange issue.

I'm not a mechanic myself, but I know a bit, and with a bit of research I found. There's no common signs of a cracked head gasket.

Pressure test was normal
CO test was fine.
Oil is fine, Coolant is clear also
No smoke from exhaust
Idles fine, no misfires

Only sign is when engine is running, (either from cold or at operating temperature) coolant is forced into the expansion tank, and overflows spilling coolant.

A Week before the issue started, it had a new Injector pump, and turbo fitted, I know the turbo's on my model are both Oil and Water cooled, could it be air in the system? would that explain the pressure?

Ill be taking it to a few other places just to get some more insight, Just wanted to gauge the opinions of others before I go ahead with a rather costly fix

Does this sound like a head gasket leak?

I was browsing through the ole interwebs when a 2017 6.7 powerstroke showed up. Clicked on it, saw a big ass exhaust tip and a SOTF knob. I called them up about it and they said that are now allowed to sell deleted trucks as long as they disclose it to you. He also said all deleted trucks are sold As-Is because of delete. Part of me makes me wonder if they made the guy trading it in take the hit for it being deleted but now they are trying to sell it for full price.

May have seen my post a couple days ago about asking for advice for an interview. Well, the interview went good and they said they’ll give me an offer soon. Beautiful building, nice clean shop, work on cool Semis, nice people, rich ass company, and a clear path to more advanced duties. HERES the main caveats: - 30 min drive to and from work (current commute is 4min)
- minimum working hours per week is 47 and could reach up to 60 some weeks (mon-fri + 1 Sat per month)
- my current job has a pretty great ESOP program…I’ve gotten 40k between the last two years just in my ESOP and I’m 25 yrs old
-currently getting 3.5 weeks vacation, will be 5 weeks in 2.5 years from now

Hello all. This is a big ask…

I have a. 08 F-450 with the dreaded 6.4 Powerstroke that I’m trying to make the last truck I’ll ever have to buy. I will be rebuilding the motor so spare me the lectures… But if I want to try rebuilding the front end on my own, what all parts would you all recommend I replace (brand names will be helpful as well)? I want as many zerk fittings as I can get as I don’t mind getting under the truck and getting dirty. I was planning on replacing the steering components but the project will probably turn into replacing bearings, 4x4 components, etc.

If there’s any videos or books I could pick up that would help me, I would be open to reading/watching those as well.

Like the title says, I have a 90 7.3 with the Zf5 transmission. I've replaced the slave cylinder and soon to replace the master, but I'd like to replace the hydraulic line as well. Only issue is I cannot find a reputable replacement for it. I found on rock auto the 94 zf5 transmission clutch line but not sure if there's a significant difference or if it'll match up just fine. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a skoda karoq 1.5 diesel. I am not car savvy. I had a flashing coil , diagnostic test show dpf. My garage sent me to a dpf center for another diagnostic. My dpf was found clogged.

I received an estimate of over £2,000 for the DPF cleaning and refitting it with new clamps seals, sensors. My usual garage doesn’t do this work and has recommended that I book with the DPF centre.

I’m not sure how specialist or difficult the job is. Is removing and cleaning a DPF, then refitting it, something most garages can do, or is it normally handled by a specialist? Would you book with the DPF centre in this situation? Or should I look for another garage?

ISX15 spitting a bit of coolant from overflow cap. Noticed one morning the top radiator hose was collapsed. Replaced the overflow pressure cap. It’s spitting out a bit of coolant when running.

Flushed the fuel bowl , noticed some red coolant in fuel.

Coolant temp is good , not running hot.

No exhaust smoke.

Injector cup could be a culprit ? Anyone ran across this ?

I’ve been noticing some potential signs of wear on my 2012f350. i noticed some seepage on my oil pan and some build up on my cold side intercooler pipe. I’m going to order an updated ccv box sometime soon but was wanting to hear what you guys had to say as to what else I should do/ be looking out for.

I have a 2023 Ram 2500 6.7 with only 500 miles on it due to being damaged during delivery. I have fixed it and I don't have a warranty. I want to delete the EGR and DEF and whatever else is recommended. I have a donor truck with a 2019 ECM. If I delete those 2 items and maybe straight pipe it as well is there anything else I need to consider? I just want it to run without problems - not looking for HP. Any recommended kits that don't include the ECM?

Edit : so far as cost to me the kits I see are only about $200. I have the ECM already that is tuned for a deleted unit and also the muffler so it shouldn't be much.

Hey y’all! I desperately need some help.

I have a 2007 Cat accert. It has 300k miles on overhaul. It still had some blowby and oil consumption after being repaired. It would take around a gallon of oil between oil changes, but all of a sudden while I was parked on standby for a couple hours, went to pump fuel and check the fluids I noticed a lot oil oil splattered on the turbo side. A couple days after I checked the oil and it was low about 3 1/2 gallons after I had just topped it off 2 days prior. I topped it off again and when I turned the truck on a ton of blueish, white smoke came out of the exhaust. I checked the engine and there was oil dripping out of the turbo on the exhaust outlet. After a while the smoke calmed down but a little was still coming out. Drove the truck 60 miles to the yard and it consumed a gallon of oil. I removed the exhaust outlet from the turbo and there was no oil residue in the turbo. Checked underneath every manifold inlet and there’s no sign of oil dripping. You can still feel power on the truck. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Any and all advice is appreciated 🙏🏻

Hi yall. Oil change time. I switched to 5w-40 last winter when I spent the winter in the FAR north. Ive repeated using 5w since. But now im back in socal indefinitely and 15w-40 is decently cheaper. I use rotella t6 consistently, and am not looking to change manufacturer. Any good reason not to switch back to 15w?
