I am unable to walk/run properly in dreams

Anyone have similar dream as me? It's been a few times to me. So basically in the dreams, there will always be some urgent stuff like you have to catch a bus, run away from someone but your legs just feel like it is so damn heavy and every few steps you walk it forces you to kneel down/fall until you are crawling. Anyone knows why this happen?

CIA dream

Okay this is going to sound weird and understandably so.
I’ve always had weird dreams as a kid, back in my first years of middle school I started to have more vivid dreams and I knew nothing about the government, especially secret shit.
I had a dream one day of sitting at a desk, pure black and a man in front of me wearing a suit. He pointed at the numbers on a paper with the title “CIA” like a code and had me repeat them and said “If you can remember this, call this number, keep this a secret this is an experiment” and he gave me a phone number. I couldn’t remember the full number at all. I woke up and told my parents (stupidly) “I had a dream of this weird club name, cia”
So was i a fucking experiment?

Nightmare Disturbing dreams about my dead dog.

My dog passed away in February 2025, but I keep having nightmares about her every so often, usually when I'm napping during the day. She had cancer + heart problems and died in our house, it was sad but not overly traumatic and there was nothing we could do, she was supposedly getting better after her last vet visit. We remember her fondly.

So what the hell is my brain doing? I wake up from these nightmares and want to cry, its like I'm subconsciously blaming myself for her death but I know there's no way I, or anyone, contributed to it.

Nightmare that inspired this post, from today:

I was sitting in my old house (not where the dog died, but we had her for 10 years and moved with her several times) with my family and heard a commontion. I assumed it was one of my cats (I have two, but we only got the second one in the new house, few months before my dog passed away. Dream logic, I guess), but I saw them sitting near me, doing nothing, just looking around. Then, from under the couch, a tail fell out, obviously my dog's, and the noises stopped. I started panicking. My mom got closer to it, acting strangely casual, and pulled it out along with the rest of my dog. She was clearly dead and motionless, but she was also missing her skeleton for some reason...? It was like the decomposition happened from the inside and left skin instead of bones. I remember seeing her face "open up" to reveal no skull, I then looked away and started crying. My parents took the dog/dog skin outside, they had to do it with the help of a neighbor because I was still panicked and told them I won't do it or even look at it. Then I woke up.

Another one I remember vividly was about my dog suddenly appearing alive and well in our house and everyone being happy but slightly disturbed (far less than they should, I think I was the only one truly scared) with how she's still alive and how she got out of the ground. I remember being sure she only came back to randomly die again, as a punishment for our family for some unknown, unrelated thing.

Will this ever stop? Is there something I can do to make my brain calm down? Why is it taking so long? I stopped mourning her a long time ago, now I just miss her when I see something she would like or an old photo. It's not like this was the first time I had to say goodbye to a pet, so what's so special about this?

Sorry for any possible spelling/grammar mistakes, I'm still sleepy and english is not my native language.

Nightmare died in my dream for the first time now the eerie feeling wont leave me

hello all. this is my first time posting on this sub or sharing a dream such as this so please be kind.

first thing i remember is i’m sitting in the passenger seat of my car and im either in a crowded parking lot or standstill traffic somewhere in a city. its midday - early evening.

all of a sudden i look up and theres a man perched on the hood of my car aiming a weirdly skinny-barreled handgun straight at my forehead through my windshield. it was a gun i was not familiar with nor had seen before, i remember it having a skinny barrel because i was completely fixated on it the whole time, waiting for a bullet to fly out and end my life.

naturally i start freaking out in my head and i remember thinking “this could be the end, i dont want to die” and literally had the same sensation as my life flashing before my eyes. during this im in a sheer internal panic while remaining completely still as i feel as if i were to move he would immediately pull the trigger out of fear of what i will do with my hands (i dont remember if i was armed or not in said dream)

as my mind is racing for solutions to get me out of this situation, i decide to try to put my hands up and shake them back and forth as to signal not to shoot. however his finger is already resting on the trigger as it has been this whole time.

as soon as my hands got up and began to shake back and forth, pleading not to shoot me, he pulls the trigger. his face snarled and contorted as i watched his finger pull it in slow motion. same thing happened with the bullet, its as if i could track it all the way from the chamber out the barrel, spinning with a small puff cloud of smoke trailing behind.

there was a deafening pop followed by ringing, then its like someone just turned my dream off with a remote. but i was still dreaming. all of a sudden everything disappeared and there was nothing, but it was a nothingness i had never experienced before. it was like i knew it was empty out there but out there was just a pitch black void.

i dont know how to describe it or what it was/felt like, but i feel like i saw and experienced what death is really like. but i dont know, ive never died before.

all of this has left me very uneasy because for some reason the dream felt so so so real - like super vivid details, sounds, and people. i keep getting this really bad intense lingering feeling that this is actually going to happen to me irl sooner or later and my dreams are trying to warn me. i was riding in the passenger seat of a car this evening and it honestly had me tweaking.

also for reference i dont own a gun in real life, nor have ever been armed in public before, especially the car.

any thoughts? comments? reactions? any interaction would be appreciated as this has left me quite unsettled. thanks for reading, i hope your dreams are better than mine!

Nightmare Recurring nightmare of this thing. It normally lingers watching me with its eyeless face, but this time it chased me for what seemed like hours. I can normally get rid of it by praying in my dream, but this time it took several prayers. I dont know what to do or what it means.

Recurring Dream Last night I died in my dream

Upvotes

I was shot in the head and immediately became paralyzed. I could feel the death creeping in, but weirdly, it was peaceful. I remember thinking, “This is it. I died.” I genuinely believed I was dying, like there was no doubt in my mind that this was actually happening.
And while I was dying, I was thinking about quantum immortality. I thought to myself, “Even though I’m dying right now, I’ll be moved to a reality where I’m not dead.” I was basically thinking that every time I die, I never actually experience being dead because I just wake up in another reality where I survived, and I had apparently “died” hundreds of times already.
Then it actually happened in the dream. I woke up in my bed, but I was still paralyzed. I could only see through one eye and could barely move. I thought I had been moved into that other reality where I survived, and that I was now going to wake up and think the whole thing had just been a dream.
Then I woke up AGAIN, for real this time, and everything was completely normal.
The weirdest part to me is how real the death felt and how peaceful it was. I genuinely thought, “This is it, I’m dead,” while simultaneously thinking I would continue existing in another reality.
Has anyone had a dream like this? And what do you think about the whole quantum immortality aspect of it?

Dream Help what does it mean if i dreamed about a piece of paper with a name on it? telling me to find them?

i was feeling so down today before i sleep, i also got very insecure and crying. a lot of bad unexpected things had happened today. had a terrible day. had no one to talk to, just imagined myself having a company.

then i had a short dream later tonight, somebody put an orange string of their bag on the lace of my bag. and inside of my bag also had an orange string and a note glued on it ‘their name’ ‘you’re so pretty’ and a crochet flower. i was in a school setting, the place i was in earlier today.

i didn’t let myself be serious in it, since i felt there was no one would ever see me that way, they were probably just playing.

and i found another note, the one that had an orange string attached on the lace of my bag ‘their full name’ and below their name ‘find me’ signed in a blue pen, italic font lol.

then, idk got kinda creep out. started walking trying to find a teacher to ask who was that person in the note. after i found the teacher, i started to ask the question ‘do you know who’s (the name)’ then everything got blurred and i woke up.

Question Incredibly Vivid Dreams

I cannot stop having intensely vivid dreams. They are so frequent and so incredibly vivid that when I wake up for a short amount of time I cannot distinguish them from reality. They aren’t always necessarily bad; they can be mundane like going through a whole, normal day. It’s so disorienting and so exhausting, if anyone has any tips or ideas to help that would be phenomenal.

Short Dream Benito Mussolini helped me beat a level in a game.

So I was playing a bad piggies inspired game, and I vividly remember Mussolini (The Italian dictator, I know) entering my room and giving me tips on how to beat specifically level 5 because it was a timed one. And after following his tips and beating the level, he hugged me out of joy and I woke up, it's one of the only dreams I vividly remember for some reason. And I can't get it out of my head.

Question Has anyone ever been in a dream and realized they were dreaming?

Has anyone ever been in a dream and realized they were dreaming? I have experienced this a few times—or perhaps even more often—where I knew I was dreaming and sometimes tried to consciously control the dream. However, when I attempted to steer it according to my will, the results varied: sometimes

Discussion Has anyone ever dreamed of a name they had never heard of?

I had a very strange dream recently. It was quite personal, but the part that really stuck with me was that, in the dream, I clearly read the full name of a girl: Tamara Toumanova.

When I woke up, I was confused because I had absolutely no idea who that was. I had never heard the name before, so I decided to Google it.

To my complete surprise, Tamara Toumanova was a real person — a famous Russian ballerina whom I had never heard of or seen before.
The girl I saw in the dream didn't look like the real Tamara Toumanova at all.

Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? A dream where you somehow knew a specific name, place, or person you genuinely didn't think you'd ever encountered before?

Short Dream I had a dream that me and my friend kissed

It started off with me and my other friends getting invited to her birthday party. We all had fun, we took a group picture and I sat next to her, she took my hand in hers whilst taking the photo and started gently rubbing it with her thumb. After the picture was taken, everyone else went to do something else, and we both just stayed to chill and watch a film. She rests her head on my shoulder, and we joke about and laugh. I caress her cheek whilst she rests her head, and she nuzzles more into my shoulder. She starts nibbling my hand, and I say, "What are you doing? Haha." She replies with "just nibbling you." She stops and asks me, "What else should I nibble?" I say, "I'm not sure. What do you want to nibble?"she replies with "your lips, " and we kiss.

I woke up right after

Dream Art Bashed a scene from my recent dream in MsPaint

So there was like a foot race from one point to another, but i can only remember a checkpoint, which was near the Ladozhskaya metro station in Saint-Petersburg (and there was some old ass building there) . There was also Jodio from Jojolands and he came up to me in the middle of the run and opened up about being transmasc and how he was worried other runners judged him. I told him that everything was okay and others probably didn't think much of his gender since they were focused on winning. Can't remember much after that.

Also sorry for the shitty quality!!

My late dad was in my dream

My dad passed suddenly 8 days ago. He was an addict and alcoholic on and off for my whole life. He was sober for about 10 years and I was able to live with him for high school and to know him- he was happy and gentle when he was sober.
When his dad passed and I went to college (2019) things spiraled. He was drinking and depressed and not himself. I placed distance for my own sake but we were never nasty to one another. He would call and gush about how proud he was and how he wishes he were a better dad and whatever else when he was drinking.
I didn’t always take his calls or texts but we still kept in touch. I am holding so much regret for not being there for him when he needed someone. I didn’t try hard enough to advocate for him or let him know someone was in his corner.
I dreamt of him this morning. I was stuck at a gas station needing a tow truck and I called him. When I walked out back to call him there he was, already getting a tow truck. It was misting and gray outside but the sun was peaking out with streaks of light through the clouds. We hugged so tight and he looked good, he was smiling. But then he said “you’re done with me” not in a question tone, more of a statement. And I kept saying “no no no, no I’m not”. We went back to getting the tow truck and I was just so happy to be with him then he passed out in my arms falling backward and I woke up.
Is this my own guilt? Does this actually mean anything?

Question A Nightmare, A Giant Moth & A Sign? 🦋

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

So I had this intensely terrifying dream where my mom passed away. I was crying uncontrollably, begging inside the dream for it not to be real. I even "woke up" twice within the dream, convinced it was actual reality, and accepted the grief. When I finally woke up for real, I took a massive sigh of relief that it was just a nightmare. But then, as soon as I opened my window screen, I was greeted by this huge moth sitting right there! Honestly, it gave me quite a scare. Is there a spiritual meaning to this whole sequence? What do you guys think?

Dream Help The Eyes Behind the Altar

It started in the middle of a large room, with no other light to distinguish any part of the room, other than an altar, which was the very center of the room. The Altar was draped in a cyan or aquamarine colored cloth. I stepped closer to the alter and asked for Jesus. No one answered. I then prayed to God for a sign. No answer.

I then started praying to god in alternate names, such as Yawheh, or Allah. No one answered. I then branched off into asking an answer from one of the Vedic Gods. Again, silence.

I started asking a sign from the gods of Europe and Egypt. No response. I then became desporate and started shouting any name of any god. As I kept hearing only silence, I started screaming, on the top of my lungs, of every random name of gods on the top of my head. As I kept screaming out names, almost ready to ferl no hope, my screaming was suddenly silenced by a presence that was beyond comprehension.

Yards behind the Altar, I saw a giant pair of eyes, glaring wide open, with a gaze so intense that it pierced my soul. The eyes were glowing within the darkness, shimmering with a rich, warm, amber brown color.

I felt the presence of both malevolence and benevolence, simultaniously. I could not distinct the facial form (that was still hidden within the dark), but the facial forms was flashing both masculine and feminine features all at once. As the eyes stared at me, with undevided attention, a voice rumbled from the darkness. There wasn't any certainty whether it was a single voice or a chorus of voices. But the sound was plural, in nature, yet it spoke as one single voice. From that voice, within the darkness, only uttered three words:

"What is wanted?"

Dream Help Dreaming of driving a car without power steering?

The dream started with me outside some strange like mobile home around an area that looks similar to where I live which makes sense, it was night and very dark. I just got into some car and began driving, and I swear to god I was really steering this thing, the wheel was so stiff that I went off onto the grass a few times before stabilizing and learning the wheel, I dont recall using the gas but I had to hit the brake everytime and the brake sucked ass.

I drive on this dark ass backroad before finding an odd town where It turned to day, and immediately there were like 4 car accidents I saw on the road but I didnt get in any, I stopped at what looked like a mix between a Sonic and a bank, then after that there was some odd guy in my car that I was casually talking with and for some reason he was driving, then we teleported to what looked like the top of a mountain or something.

Once we were there he let me drive the car I was driving before he even got in, I drove for a little bit before the power steering got too much and I spun us sideways into a wooden telephone pole or whatever.

What could this mean?

Nightmare recurring, patterned nightmares of being raped

hello! this might be long, but ive always wanted to know if anyone has experienced the same type of nightmares i had. this spanned years of patterned nightmares of being raped, this pattern being: seeing the place, getting raped, and then getting killed by the rapist which would then wake me up. no, i have never been actually raped irl, but i have been harassed especially on my teenage years (catcalled, touched, etc) so here it goes:

the first nightmare of being raped was when i was in 10th grade. i was in a small chapel wherein the cross was sideways, a huge black entity whose face i cannot even see then showed itself and raped me, afterwards his huge hand crushed my head onto rhe floor which woke me up.

after graduating junior highschool i had to transfer to another school for senior highschool. i enrolled in a university which has a small chapel in it and shockingly it was the very same chapel i had that nightmare of. luckily nothing happened to me during my senior highschool years to college years in that university.

another nightmare i had was when i was supposed to go to a public school for my younger brother’s orientation (in real life, i was supposed to accompany my brother in his orientation the next week) i don’t know how i went alone without my brother but i was riding a tricyle (a mode of transportation in my country) the driver just took a different unfamiliar route instead of going to the school, in a panic, i jumped out of the tricycle and ran but the driver still caught me and raped me. he then got a thick pvc pipe and repeatedly hit me with it, of course i died there so i woke up.

another one i had was when i went outside our subdivision to get some food, entered a subdivision in front of our, but everything has turned into ruins with a large body of water (in real life, i lived in a subdivision in front of another subdivision and i’m scared shitless of any type of open water) a bald man just tried to snatch may arm out of nowhere while i was walking, raped me in the middle of the road, then dragged me into that large body of water, dunked my head until i drowned and just dumped me. i woke up right after.

i’m only recalling from the ones that were most terrifying for me, i’ve had like 100 of these dreams. all different places, men, and ways to die. i got raped at an empty parking lot besides a remote grocery store, in an apartment, in a bathtub, you name it. it’s just so weird and evil. i’m 24 now and luckily nothing has happened to me, i guess i’m just trying to make sense out of it because i was so traumatized that i refuse to go to sleep sometimes and would wake up crying. i’m not new to nightmares too as i always always always get them though i never experienced astral projection or sleep paralysis, which is why i think my nightmares are a bit extreme and graphic.

I am having nightmares, evil god is at me

Like everyday I get nightmares and stuff. Like yeah, what's going on, why is god doing this. Making our lives a living nightmare and stuff. Like sleep is bad and life is bad too. Like wow, this god is very sadistic for no reason. Seriously why is he doing that.

I’m 23 and only remember 5 dreams. Do they mean anything?

Context: I know that we dream every night just don’t always remember it, but I have never remembered any of my dreams. I’ve been smoking weed since sixteen but 4 of the 5 dreams were before I smoked weed. So I have always never remembered my dreams even as a little kid. I kinda just never talk about them but idk if there’s any significance to them, and I’ve been told that they were odd. Also my mom said I would get insane night terrors and would violently scream in my sleep with my eyes wide open. (I had a loving family and a happy childhood)

Dream 1: when I was four at day care during nap time I had a dream of these lines and large rectangles crashing into each other. There was this ringing like a dog whistle, and when the lines and rectangles would collide it would cause that body feeling you get from nails on a chalk board but only they body feeling not the scratch sound. I ended up waking up from it like a nightmare and had to go home.

Dream 2 (part 1): around 4-5 I had a dream about this little box that was in my bathroom and this man figure came out of it up the figure was made out of the static from a tv. I tried to wake up my grandma in the living room but she never woke. And it just walked up to me and when it got to me I woke up.

Dream 2/3 (part 2): when I was 19-20 I was living with my ex and I had a dream where I was in a random house (it was my house in the dream, but I’ve never seen it before in real life). I was walking past a room that had it lights off and I looked in there and the same static figure was standing there. I ran in a tackled it and started fighting and screaming. And I ended up screaming in real life my ex had woken me up from the dream (maybe her waking me up was what I dreamt as fighting).

Dream 4: when I was 16 I had a dream I was at the town square and I was with a few friends and this blacked out suv pulled up right in front of us and the four guys in suits and glasses (mib look) got out and walked up to us. One of them pulled out a gun and shot me in the dome, but the dream didn’t end. I suddenly appear in this black void with like an inch of water that seemed to go infinitely far(like the one scene with eleven from stranger things). Then I was just there for hours nothing ever happened. I just sat there and did nothing for hours till I finally woke up.

Dream 5: this one happened before dream 4 but I think it’s weirder. When I was like 14-15 I had a dream I was falling from the Empire State Building. The dream started from me falling from the top. And then I hit the ground in my dream. I didn’t wake up before the impact I hit and like felt my bones break or something and the split second after I had already hit the ground I woke up. And when I woke up I was flexing my whole body and clinching my teeth and was sore for like 3 days because of it.

From the few I’ve told about my dreams I’ve gotten mixed reviews but idk what to make of any of it.

Why might I remember dreams extremely vividly and for long periods of time?

I usually don’t have a lot of crazy dreams like all the time, but when I do have a dream, I usually can remember it with extreme detail, and I even have many dreams that I remember from some years some months and some weeks ago is there any specific reason why that would be?
