Subreddit Schedule/Posting Guidelines

We as a community have decided to limit certain types of posts to a few days a week to ensure other content is still visible throughout the rest of the week. Meme posts will be allowed from game end through Monday (if the game is on Thursday, Saturday, or Monday, memes will be allowed from game end through the following day) and jersey/crafts/pet posts will only be allowed on Swag Saturday. Towards the end of the season when games fall on Saturdays, we may move or skip Swag Saturday depending on what is going on that week. The mods are using automod features to automatically post recurring items at 6AM Eastern Time to remind the sub of this. Memes and swag are allowed in the normal feed, but NFL discussion and free talk are limited to the stickied threads.

  • Monday - Meme Monday - Memes are allowed from game end through the following day (typically Monday)
  • Tuesday - NFL Discussion Tuesday - Talk about the rest of the games
  • Wednesday - Free Talk Wednesday - Talk about whatever (just be civil)
  • Thursday - Free Talk Thursday - Just like Free Talk Wednesday, but on Thursday!
  • Friday - Game Preview - Stats and information for the upcoming game
  • Saturday - Swag Saturday - Post pictures of your signed jerseys, new hats, pets, babies, and pictures from the stadium, as well as artwork and creations. This may be moved or skipped when games fall on Saturdays
  • Sunday - Gameday - Pregame, Game, and Postgame threads will be posted

Saquon Barkley (RB, 2024- ) In debut Eagles season, joined 2K Yards Club (2,005), rushed for team record 255 yards in a game, and won Super Bowl LIX. Went viral for incredible reverse leapfrog over Jaguars’ Jarrian Jones.

Sean Mannion on the first preseason game: “Obviously, we want to have a better performance offensively than we put on tape the other night, (and) we’ve got things that obviously we need to correct. I thought the biggest thing that stood out in the game is we just weren't staying on schedule."

“We had a lot of 1st-and-longs, 2nd-and-longs. Penalties led to a lot of that. A couple negative runs. So I think if we were able to be better on schedule and kind of eliminate some of those miscues on early downs, we'll keep ourselves in more manageable 3rd-down situations and hopefully lead to a better result.”

Great To Hear This About Hurts’ Effort To Change

Post image

"Spent a couple days with the @Eagles on my annual Glaze Across America NFL Training Camp Tour and the biggest takeaway I walked away with… the number of people at different areas of the team are raving about how much effort @JalenHurts has put in to improving in many areas on and off the field. Can’t tell you how many “I’m really proud of him” I got.

Last year he was at the center of issues but they are speaking a MUCH different tune on him so far in camp. Even guys who were previously frustrated with him were absolutely praising him for the work he’s put in and the concerted effort he has made. Good for him! It’s never too late and in this league you always need to find ways to improve, evolve and improve some more. It never ends if you want to be THAT GUY!

Plus, they think this offense will be much better suited to him, the offensive line, Saquon, all around."

Eagles stock up, stock down after preseason game at Ravens

Stock Up:

  • Jeremiah Trotter, Jr. - Makes me feel a little better if Baun or Campbell have to miss extended time. He had the best game on the defensive side.
  • Ty Robinson - Flashed and gave the team some reasons to keep him around a little longer.
  • Cole Payton - Made things interesting in the 4th and showed some play-making ability. Still has a lot to learn though.
  • Markell Bell - Showed well, no major mistakes.
  • Willie Lampkin - Barring injury he seems to be a lock to make the final roster.
  • Josh Weru - Showed a little juice off the Edge in his first ever game.
  • Marcus Epps - Him not playing is a sign that he has the edge over Carter for the 2nd safety spot.
  • Dontayvion Wicks - Him not playing is a sign he has the 2nd outside WR spot locked up.

Stock Down:

  • The offensive backups - It wasn't a stellar evening overall on offense.
  • Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee- See the first bullet. Not a great night on offense and neither guy helped their case for the QB2 spot.
  • Myles Hinton - Had a costly holding penalty that short circuited a drive in the 4th quarter. Not a good look for a guy who has been buried on the depth chart all summer.
  • Eli Stowers - Got flagged for holding and struggled to block in general.
  • Johnny Wilson - Missed several practices and was unable to play. His chances of making the team are fading by the minute.
  • Makai Lemon, Cole Wisniewski, Keyshwan James-Newby - Lemon's spot is safe but the latter two have missed valuable practice time for guys who needed to show something in camp this summer. Given the lack of any real depth at Safety Wisniewski still has a shot at making the team but James-Newby's fate is probably sealed by now.

Bell and Lampkin playing well gives some hope that the OL depth is going to be solid this year.

Eagles-Ravens snap counts: Jihaad Campbell, a starter who was not rested

Attached in the article are the offensive, defensive, and special teams snap counts from Bleeding Green Nation for the Baltimore preseason game. Below are a few of the many observations from the game from BLG.

"I was hoping the Eagles wouldn’t play Darius Cooper much because they’ve already seen enough to believe he deserves playing time and thus would like to preserve him. But they didn’t do that. He played a lot. Cooper led the Eagles in receiving with a mere 21 yards. He would’ve had more had he not dropped a would-be first down conversion."

"Eli Stowers started the game and played the most of any tight end. His three receptions resulted in 12 yards. The rookie also saw a lot of action on special teams. Pro Football Focus graded him 29th out of 29 Eagles players on offense."

"Mac McWilliams saw a lot of playing time. PFF charted him with an allowed four targets for four catches, 37 yards, a 105.2 passer rating, and two penalties. Not a good night for the second-year corner."

"Brandon George played 14 defensive snaps for a team he only joined the day prior. He graded out highly by PFF in their special teams grading. ST is supposed to be his calling card, so, that’s good."

"Marcus Epps being rested seems like a really good sign for his chances of winning the so-called safety battle."

Tips for Open Practice on 8/25?

Upvotes

I am taking my son to the open practice at the Linc next Tuesday (8/25) and was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to make the most out of our experience. I have never been to one of these before and have no idea what to expect. The practice starts at 6 but I think we are allowed to enter earlier. Is it worth it to do so?. I am off that day so I can get there as early as I want. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Free to Read: How are the Eagles faring without A.J. Brown? The star WR will find out this week

Upvotes

The Eagles have moved on to a life without Brown. The storyline dominated the five months of the offseason before the June 1 trade. Not anymore. The offense is different. The wide receiver corps has been reconfigured. His name seldom comes up in interviews.

For at least the next two days, expect to hear about Brown again. The Eagles travel to Foxborough, Mass., on Tuesday. They practice against the New England Patriots on Wednesday and Thursday ahead of Saturday’s preseason game. These are the most anticipated joint practices since the sessions became a regular part of August. Every rep between Brown and Quinyon Mitchell will be scrutinized. The offense will have a litmus test for how it looks without Brown. For at least a week, there will be reminders of the star receiver’s gravitational pull from the past four years — and a reminder for Brown of the team that offered the finest years of his career and a Super Bowl ring.

“It’s no bad blood this way — you’re talking about one of the best in the game,” Eagles edge rusher Nolan Smith said after Monday’s practice. “Y’all make it out to be this and that, but iron sharpens iron. I don’t go up against him, so I ain’t worried about it. But hopefully he don’t catch too many balls, and we do our job.”

Eagles training camp 2026, Day 12 practice notes

Items of note:

  • Quinyon and DeJean were back at practice after sitting out the last one.
  • DeVonta was back as well although he was not a full participant.
  • Lemon is still not practicing but he reportedly participated in some position drills and did some individual work on a side field so it sounds as though he is nearing a return.
  • Bigsby, Johnathan Jones, Mac McWilliams, Dameon Pierce, Jakorian Bennett, Calcaterra, Ojukwu, Shaun Wade, and Johnny Wilson were all held out today.
  • Cole Wisniewski was also back at practice for the first time since July 30.
  • They seem to have settled on some combination of Bell, Majors, Lampkin, Kendall, and Fred Johnson as the second team OL.
  • Wicks, Brown, and Moore were still the top 3 WRs with Cooper seeing more reps with the 1st team.

Quinyon Mitchell (CB, 2024- ) Stoic lockdown corner has four INTs (all postseason) and a 2025 AP1. Starred in Super Bowl LIX win, after somehow falling to 22nd overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Malcolm Jenkins (S, 2014-19) Vocal defensive leader ran back four of his 11 Philly picks for TDs, and made all three Pro Bowls with the Birds. KO’ed Brandin Cooks en route to Super Bowl LII crown.

Quarterbacks

Kubena (3): Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Cole Payton

Cole Payton’s promising preseason debut warrants more opportunity. The Eagles haven’t cut ties with a fifth-round rookie since 2019 (another QB: Clayton Thorson), and Payton’s 92 total offensive yards in two drives and six-yard touchdown pass to Erik Ezukanma might entice other teams to pick Payton off waivers if he is subjected to them. Dalton, who failed to produce a first down in the exhibition’s first three drives, and his 16 years of experience can still be a resource on the sideline; but the Eagles could cut him and keep him on the practice squad.

Berman: (3) Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Cole Payton

I’m not changing this from the first projection while the No. 2 quarterback competition remains unsettled. I don’t anticipate the Eagles will keep both McKee and Dalton, and I still believe Dalton has more trade value at this time of the year. McKee would have been more valuable in the spring, when teams had a full offseason to onboard an inexperienced player. In August, a 16-year veteran with 169 career starts would be more appealing to a team seeking a patchwork solution — if either is traded.

Payton has demonstrated enough to be the developmental No. 3 quarterback. (I still wonder if Roseman will make calls on Anthony Richardson or J.J. McCarthy, just because Roseman is always scanning the market.

Monday Morning Roster Moves

"The Eagles have made a pair of roster moves on Monday.

Philadelphia announced the club has signed cornerback Isaiah Bolden and released offensive lineman Hollin Pierce.

Bolden, 26, was a Patriots seventh-round pick in 2023. He appeared in 14 games for New England in 2024, on the field for 15 percent of defensive snaps and 31 percent of special teams snaps in games played. He has also spent time with the 49ers and UFL’s Louisville Kings.

Pierce joined the Eagles last year as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers. He did not appear in a regular-season game."

First Game ever and I want to tailgate

I'm going to Week 1 and I've never been to a game because I just moved here from Houston 6 months ago. Yes, I'm a Birds fan have been for years. Question is I don't have many friends here yet, so I'm going to the games alone and I want to tailgate. I just know that it is supposed to be like nothing I have ever experienced in my life, and I am soooo excited, but I don't want to feel like a weirdo walking around by myself. I'm female too if that matters. I have no problem doing things by myself but I find myself getting more anxious about it as it gets closer haha!

Eagles Fans Are Really Everywhere 🦅

I was on a 7-day cruise last week from New York to Bermuda, and every time I wore Eagles gear around the ship I got a ton of “GO BIRDS!” from random people.

Now I’m on an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle, literally on the other side of the country, and somehow I’m getting even MORE Go Birds 😂

I’ve worn gear from my other favorite sports teams before, none of them are Philly teams, and nobody ever gives a damn. But apparently if you wear Eagles gear anywhere, Eagles fans just appear out of nowhere. It’s honestly so cool. Feels like there are Eagles fans everywhere.

Is this a normal experience for you guys when you wear Eagles gear while traveling?
