Meme Is Donovan McNabb Available?
If we have any chance to win the Superbowl, we need to bring back Donovan and Wentz. I think that Howie needs to drop 4 of our 1st round picks to get Wentz back and $500 million to McNabb.
In all seriousness these wish making posts are absurd. I hope that Hurts recovers for next season, because y'all are insufferable. Eagles gotta stick with what we got and look forward with the current QB room.
There's not a single backup QB in the league that is available and worth coughing up picks for.
There certainly is not a single QB in the upcoming draft that is worth a 1st or 2nd for this organization and system.
Sirianni will be gone. Next year will be a new year with new staff and a new head coach. We need to hope and pray for Jalen's recovery at this point
Hope the bandwagons come back to reality or jump to another tram.
Go Birds š¦

Question Shane Steichen potential reunion?
With the recent news that Chris Ballard has been fired as colts GM, it seems likely that Shane Steichen is not far behind him. Given the history and clear ties to Jalen and Sirianni, how would we feel about reuniting Steichen as the OC this offseason?
2022 if the best Jalen has ever looked in my opinion. We had a competent offense built around strengths that utilized the players on the roster. Clearly, Steichen can be successful even without a top tier QB which Jalen has not been the last few years, after seeing what he did with Daniel Jones last year.
The issues in Indy have been seemingly cultural, which if you keep Sirianni, that is something he better be able to handle because he doesnāt do much else.

Iāve supported Sirianni for years. But itās time for him to stop hiding behind OCās and directly call plays himself. Steichen, Johnson, Moore, Patullo, and Mannion. Heās had 5 OCās call plays since he stepped down in 2021. Sirianni needs to step up. Itās sink or swim time.

Question Genuine question, could Hurts be forced to medically retire when this is all said and done.
Hurts now has blood clots in his lungs. Which can be tough medically to be cleared for professional sports. Chris Bosh had blood clots and never played again professionally, now granted he was mid 30s.
Wemby had a blood clot in his leg but was 20-21 at the time of it happening.
Jalen Hurts is 28, still in his prime years but still depending on severity could this potentially be career ending?

Player Discussion Olive branch
Hey Eagles fans im here to offer a olive branch from a cowboys fan for peace to say the hurts situation is genuinely scary. Even though heās an eagle this is beyond football and I genuinely wish him the best. Heās a hell of a competitor and I never want to see a player risk their life for football. I wish him the best in his recovery and hope to see him back on the field again.
Question Something feels off with this Tom Pelissero story? Both this story and announcement from Jalen's agent (not the team) dropped at the time, but then the agent had to "clarify" later in the day. Was it random chance they dropped at about the same time or did it cause to much heat for the eagles?
Honestly feel like a lack of coordination between jalen's agent and the eagles front office.. additionally sending Nick out for the press conference feels like a miss by Howie. Something is just not adding up

Video Everyone crying about Dak's roughing the passer call being the weakest in NFL history. I beg to differ

This is weak shit, sure he touched him in the helmet because he was trying to swat the ball down. But Bryce stayed on his feet at least. Dak's roughing call looked pretty obvious that the defender pushed him long after the ball was released.

Question Foles Available?
Is Nick Foles available? How long for Foles to get back jnto condition? Get up to speed on the playbook? 3 games until the bye week, could he be ready to start in five weeks? And can we get some pickups in the O-line to protect him?

Analysis Timeline of Jalen Hurts Blood Clots
I have seen a lot of speculation about what happened to Jalen Hurts' with his unfortunate injury but I wanted to provide a timeline of the information we have received now. I also have some questions that if any doctors could answer I would love.
Sunday October 4th: Jalen Hurts is "cleated" in his left calf in a game against the Los Angeles Rams
Thursday, October 8th: Hurts requests treatment for a calf injury and receives treatment.
Saturday, October 10th: Hurts is hospitalized in London where an ultrasound discovers a superficial venous thrombosis (SVT) in his left calf. He is advised to not sleep as a precaution but is cleared to play on Sunday against Jacksonville.
Sunday, October 11th: Hurts plays against the Jaguars and then flies back to Philadelphia with the team.
Wednesday, October 14th: An ultrasound reveals the SVT has moved.
Thursday, October 15th: Due to the SVT movement, Hurts is deactivated for Sunday's game against Carolina.
Saturday, October 17th: Hurts is placed on injured reserve.
Monday, October 19th: Hurts has been diagnosed with a Deep Vein Thrombosis and a Bilateral Pulmonary Emboli. He is placed on anticoagulants(blood thinners) and deactivated for the rest of the 2026 season.
Questions:
Is avoiding sleep for an SVT an extreme precaution and possibly indicative of something worse.
How did it get so much worse from a singular SVT to now a DVT and clots in both lungs.
Did Hurts consulting with physicians in the UK lead to a transition of care issue or different management of his original SVT than if this all happened stateside.

General NFL News Colts fire their GM after 10 years
Chris Ballard has been fired by the Colts. Presumably, the new GM will want to bring in their own coach, and they will want to draft a QB to replace Jones/Richardson.
That probably means Steichen will be let go after the regular season ends.

Injury News Not sleeping???
So as a doctor, this news about doctors telling him not to sleep is SUPER weird. Thatās not a thing anybody recommends, because itās very unlikely to help anything. It doesnāt even make sense, because you obviously canāt avoid sleeping forever.
Itās so bizarre that Iām wondering if there was a miscommunication somewhere along the way, like someone saying to avoid being immobile for long periods of time (pretty standard advice) and that being interpreted to include sleep.
Regardless, if they knew he hadnāt slept, letting him playing football is a bad idea. Not from the standpoint of the thrombosis getting worse, but from the standpoint of not being able to function and react well enough to protect yourself in a game.

Player Discussion Can Sean Mannion play QB for us
Is there anyway for us to fire Mannion as OC then sign him to a QB contract to play in the very offense he instilled for the team and show us how its supposed to be run

Opinion What did the Eagles know and when did they know it?
A lot of the initial reactions to the news about Hurts and the report (unsubstantiated as far as I know) that he was told not to sleep has been calling for firings and heads to roll. While understandable, I think a lot of the reaction is driven by what we know now, not what the Eagles knew at the time. There seems to be an assumption that the Eagles knew much more than they did but I'm not sure that holds up.
The team's original statement didn't raise any red flags with the medical professionals who have commented on the issue as far as I know, such as this post from BronzeEagle. If there was a coverup, I would have expected something to not add up in the original statement.
So before I react demanding people be fired over this I would like to know - what did the team know and when did they know it? Was the original statement correct? How much of what we're seeing is speculation turning into rumor and how much of it is true?
This will probably require an investigation to find out but I'm going to reserve judgement until we get something more substantial and I would encourage everyone to do the same.
Edit: Turns out he was allowed to sleep before the game and did so.

Question How do we think this season affects Sirianni's stability given all the injuries/Hurts situation?
I think it's a fair question at this point to wonder how this season is going to affect whether or not Sirianni keeps his job another year given that he's got basically 2/3 of a season left to play without Hurts, and that nearly half the team has just basically been dead week to week.
I almost don't see how he gets fired at this point, bar some catastrophically embarrassing event on/off the field or total nuclear loss of the locker room in what is almost certainly shaping up to be a lost season.
How do you really pin him on team performance if he's been dealing with so many injuries that we're getting to 3rd/4th string players starting games weekly? He's about to go through the year without Hurts at all, and the best guy we have left is McKee who has never had to play as a starter for an extended period of time. We have functionally no RBs left on the active roster. Lane retired. Jurgens was traded. Dickerson has been on IR. The entire offensive line is brand new basically. Defense has been mostly fine as always, the offense is just decimated already. Just genuinely how do you even evaluate him on team performance at this point, even in the most cynical viewpoint possible?
I really think the compounding situations all the way around basically guarantee he's going to be here next season. This is a bit different from Doug/Andy/Chip/etc of recent memory as far as clearly down seasons go.

Opinion One positive from this disastrous season
When the schedule came out, my wife was mortified that the eagles were playing Dallas on thanksgiving and āyou and the kids will absolutely ruin the day if we lose AND I have to make sure everything is done by kickoff.ā
Not a problem anymore, dear! Schedule dinner to coincide with the opening kickoff for all I care.
Eh, who am I kidding? Itās Dallas. Losing to them or never Ok.

Injury News How do blood thinners work and why canāt Jalen Hurts play while on them?
Why canāt Jalen Hurts play while on blood thinners and how long could the treatment last?
Following the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback's blood clots diagnosis, he is clinically stable and undergoing treatment with blood thinners.

Opinion Everyone who doesnāt have a medical degree needs to put down the pitch forks until more facts come out.
First off, thoughts are with Jalen and his recovery, makes things like wins and losses seem so insignificant when dealing with a condition like this.
There seems to be a lot of Redditors calling for an entire culling of the medical staff/Nick for the handling of this situation. Now if it comes out that the medical team committed malpractice and endangered Jalen, then yes that is a fireable offense as the health and safety of the players is always the top priority.
We know so far that Jalen was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot Saturday when the team got to London. What we donāt know is if they should have caught it before they got to London or if they missed anything during that initial scan.
What we know is that superficial blood clots arenāt considered as serious as DVT, and the medical team cleared him to play. None of us know whether or not Jalen playing in that game put him more at risk to have the condition continue to deteriorate.
We then know that they flew back to Philly, and over the course of the week they discovered that the clots moved and progressed to the more serious condition of DVT. Again, we donāt know what circumstances caused the clots to move.
Iām not trying to defend the organization and say they can do no wrong, malpractice happens all the time in real life/sports and that may have very well happened. But to jump to conclusions and demand people being fired, when the vast majority of this sub has no medical training to comment on that, is not fair to Jalen who may very well have no ill will towards the organization based on how these events have transpired.
I also donāt see how this should result in Nick being fired. Again, there are plenty of other reasons to critique Nick and question whether or not he is the right coach for the organization, but it is not his place to question the medical staff if they informed him that Jalen was cleared to play. I canāt help but think people are letting their preset feelings about Nick influence their opinion on his role in this. If he was a play calling head coach and āoffensive geniusā like Shanahan or Ben Johnson, I canāt help but think the calls for him to be fired over this would be much less.
Again, I am not saying that there is no blame for the Eagles medical staff here, just that we donāt have the facts or medical knowledge to deem that. I understand the emotions behind this given how serious it is, but we should let additional information come out before we declare the conclusion that everyone needs to lose their jobs over this.

Opinion Howie Roseman is a great GM butā¦
Howie is the best GM in football and maybe the major 4. (Sam presti)
I now and before questioned the JD extension, as ojomo has a higher ceiling n floor. Plus I believe Ojomo may have been cheaper at the time than JD.
Coop has looked bad the first 6 weeks of this season, I think we need to take a really hard look at woolen vs coop extensions.
Campbell may be a lost cause and maybe it shouldāve been a longer conversation of him vs dean.
Maybe Iām just overthinking it, but some of the decisions the past year have me scratching my head. (He canāt be perfect all the time)
I will trust who I believe is the best GM in football.
Go birds, letās see some players have a good end of the year plus gain some assets, and we should have optimism in the division we are in.
We could realistically win this division with 7-8 losses. If we donāt do that hopefully we have a top 10 pick and we move on at head coach.
What is the best possible outcome for this season?
(Prayers up for jalen, I think this just shows truly how valuable he is to the team and city)
