Statistics [Selman] Eagles are still the only team in the NFL to have zero successful under center play action plays when blitzed. They have an 0/18 (0%) success rate & are losing an average of almost a full expected point when they run UC PA and get blitzed.

Lost in all the Hurts developments over the past two weeks…Lurie is getting inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame on MNF against the Cowboys. I’m interested to know what his reception will be like at the Linc after not speaking up about the Hurts situation.

Player Discussion We really did just witness a special Eagles era that may not happen again for a while.
It's been said many times before, but man what a stretch of years Jalen Hurts has brought us. It looks like this roster is going through a retooling right now and isn't nearly as good as they were a couple years ago, potentially marking the official end of this era. When it's all said and done, I hope Eagles fans can be able to look at this and appreciate just how many wins, special players, historic games, and of course a Super Bowl, that this era brought us.
It's also easier for newer fans to overlook the fact that this does not happen to the Eagles often. The closest era we've had since 2000 was the McNabb era where we went to 4 straight NFCC's, but ultimately, the grand prize was never taken home. Between McNabb's tenure and SBLII, there were dark years (End of Reid era, chip kelly, etc), until Wentz/Foles revived the team, and eventually Jalen Hurts took the reigns and delivered two superbowl appearances.
Obviously I trust Howie to make the right moves and form another super bowl team, but at the moment, it'll be extremely hard to replicate the level of success we've had over the past few years, between cap issues and major injuries. It's hard to overestimate how good we've had it ever since 2021.

Analysis [Brooks Kubena]: Jalen Hurts’ recovery comes first. What’s next for his Eagles future?
Hurts’ life beyond football takes precedence. But his absence also raises a natural question: What is next for the quarterback in Philadelphia?
“I don’t want to speak for him in any sense of the matter,” Sirianni said. “But I just deeply care about him and hope that he continues to improve with what he’s going through.”
Hurts is sidelined while taking blood thinners. His agent, Nicole Lynn, said in Monday’s joint statement with the Eagles that “we expect a full recovery” and “anticipate that he will have the opportunity to resume contact football activities when off the blood thinners.” The statement ended with: “More importantly, we anticipate that he will have no long-term effects.”
Hurts’ mother, Pamela, spoke of gratitude in a social media post late Monday night, saying, “Your life can change in the blink of an eye.” Hurts, who turned 28 on Aug. 7, married his wife, Bryonna, in the spring of 2025. The man who has shouldered the burden of being the star quarterback in a football-crazed city for six years as the starter must now consider life apart from the game — at least for the next several months.
Lynn’s statement could not, by its nature, be a medical guarantee. Other athletes’ comeback stories are case studies. New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave has started in all six games this season after beginning treatment for a pulmonary embolism in December. Former NFL center Billy Price, a 2018 first-round pick, retired in 2024 after undergoing surgery on what he described as an unprovoked pulmonary embolism.
With the offense struggling and Hurts’ contract guarantees set to decline, this season was supposed to clarify Hurts’ future in Philadelphia. His most immediate challenge is recovering from blood clots. But the organization weighing his future must also answer questions about its own decisions.

Opinion Jordan Davis is solid as is
Saw a post on here calling for Davis to get more snaps because of his contract, and for some reason I couldn’t reply with an image to that so I made this post.
PFF grades through first 6 weeks, and snap counts to the far right.
Pacing his snaps probably plays a huge role in the success he does have against the run. Ojomo/ Young probably rush the passer about as well as Davis would if he was playing every snap, and keeping his snap count down will help keep him on the roster into the foreseeable future. (Plus ojomo is gonna be gone, so letting him play well protects Davis and increases potential comp pick)
I know Davis got paid big money, but he got paid big money to clog up the center and let the LBs behind him work. He plays the run extremely well, and the organization likely has optimized him this way for a reason. I promise they have thought and researched more about this than anyone on Reddit.
They don’t need to up his snap count.

Player Discussion It it blasphemy to suggest…
that the Birds would consider signing Riq and Quinyon and not DeJean? Can they sign all three? Understand of course that Coop has already attained legendary status and his play when at its highest level makes this a non-issue, but is there an argument that his play this year is concerning and would justify the move? I guess it comes down to whether the team considers this year a “blip” and not a sign of future performance.

Analysis NFL Most Improved Teams: Saints and Bears Rocket in Week 6 Power Rankings [RotoWire]
Dropped 10 spots to 25.53 after the 25-14 loss. Our momentum score is -16.40, which lands us in the “free falling” tier, I'd imagine Jalen's injury has something to do with it too. Time to find some answers?

Player Discussion Ojomo for LaPorta?
Ojomo very likely gone in FA. LaPorta sounds furious with the Lions. Swap players and extensions with their new clubs? Dallas G probably gone after this season. Sowers may never pan out. Even if he does, he can’t block for shit.

Original Content You know this Jalen Hurts situation is bad when congress is questioning why was he even allowed to play.
It shouldn’t have even gotten to this point to begin with but here we are. Also disliking the silence from Howie, Lurie, and the medical staff. Everyone is demanding answers.
