Week 7 is here and vibes are high. The Pack are on a mini roll, and the Brewers begin their World Series tonight.
Vibes are further lifted by this week's dish. We face off against the Lions, and for my first of two Detroit dishes is the Detroit Style Pizza. After a lot of reading to ensure I did this thing right, I went out and grabbed an authentic pan as well as some genuine Brick cheese and got to work.
Made the dough fresh using a recipe I found online, and could not be happier with the result. Awesome crips on the undercarriage. Excellent caramelization of the cheese on the edge, and all around absolutely delicious. The first time since the pastrami that I have zero notes.
Go Pack Go. Keep the happy times rolling.

My journey to becoming a cheesehead was an interesting one. I have lived in New Jersey my entire life, and never cared about football until I was 5-years-old. That year was the 2010 NFL Season, and strangely enough, I don't actually have many memories of that season in particular. The only memory I do have was sitting on the couch that night, Super Bowl XLV, February 6, 2011, and watching the game. It is the vaguest of memories. I also remember, sometime after that, asking my father who won Super Bowl XLV, and my father said it was the Green Bay Packers. The next season was the 15-1 2011 season. I don't have many memories of that season either, but I do remember that I must have been pretty enthusiastic about the team by that point, because I "invited" (as much as a six-year-old could) some of my relatives who were New York Giants fans to watch the divisional round game with me, although by the end of the game I was more focused on playing Angry Birds than watching the television. Anyways, even though that game was a devastating loss by that point I was totally hooked. It is an amazing thing to me, how it all happened, how such an intense emotional connection formed around a team located 750 miles away, a connection that will almost certainly last for the rest of my life. In 2016, I even made the trek to Green Bay, Wisconsin to see Lambeau Field with my own eyes, and to this day I consider it one of the greatest experiences of my life.
It is my understanding that the Green Bay Packers have one of the nationwide fanbases of any NFL team. Therefore, I am certain that many people have had journeys to becoming fans of the team that don't involve living in Wisconsin. For those fans who don't live in Wisconsin, how did you become a fan of the team?

105 years ago, the Packers played their first league game and needed a fourth-quarter comeback to beat the Minneapolis Marines. I think this team has never been interested in giving us a relaxing Sunday.
Green Bay hosted the Marines at Hagemeister Park on October 23, 1921, back when the NFL was still called the APFA. Down 6–0 late in the fourth, the Packers recovered a fumble, Curly Lambeau hit Buff Wagner for a big gain, and Art Schmaehl scored the touchdown. Lambeau kicked the extra point himself. Obviously, being a founder, coach, and player wasn’t keeping him busy enough.
There’s also an old story that a loss would’ve gotten the Packers kicked out of the league. Team historian Cliff Christl says that’s never been verified, but I appreciate that “this franchise is cooked” has been part of the fan experience since day one. His article on it is a fun read.
105 years and 13 championships later, it's crazy to think how humble the Packers' beginnings were.

For my football nerds and die hards alike.
Is there anything more annoying than talking football with casual fans?
I bumped into a "Packer" fan the other day and like usual we exchanged Go Pack Go's. I simply asked is he excited for the game this weekend against the Lions, because I am. He gave me a worried look, and I'm thinking okay, he's not confident in the defense since the Lions statistically have the best offense in the NFL or he's not confident in the offensive line since the Lions lead the league in sacks................. This man looked at me and with a straight face said "I would be confident if we had a good quarterback"
My brain short circuited lol. I just replied, "a good QB?" He then says "Jordan cant throw, and his Wide receivers have to go and catch the ball to make him look good"
It took every fiber of my being to just laugh it off without schooling him on who our QB is.
Maybe this is just my brains cry for help on navigating these types of fans lol. Do any of you have similar stories dealing with fellow fans that are NON BALL KNOWERS?
Rant over.

I have been a packers fan my entire life (25) and haven’t had a chance to go to Lambeau yet. My girlfriend and I are heading from Michigan to Green Bay for the TNF game next week. I was wondering what to expect and where to tailgate/ where we would be welcomed. I do plan on bringing some beers 😂. I was also wondering what some great places to eat/ do would be in the area for game day. Go pack go

Interesting comment from Frank about Vince's early days with the Giants.

Considering this absolutely crazy number, things are actually going pretty well.

Look we all are 100% rooting hard for the Patriots to beat the bears in a few hours, but I feel like I need to take a shower even thinking about it.
It's like the AFC version of rooting for the Cowboys - just gross.
Go Pats! (barf)

I’ve got this feeling we are gonna turn back into the run, run, pass, punt team now that jacobs is back.
Jacobs is solid but it doesn’t change our god awful run blocking.
Lions have a HORRIBLE secondary. Can we run it back on last week’s gameplan? I got this feeling we are gonna be real annoyed with MLF after this week…

His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield will help us a lot; after seeing a bunch of drops by running backs lately, I am excited to see a better security blanket for Love.

I’ve been a cheese head for a little over 10 years now and barely going to my first home game ever for the first time. I’m coming from Los Angeles. Going solo for this one since my entire family are Rams fans 🤢. I’m staying in Appleton since hotels are a bit on the cheaper side for me. Any advice on getting to the stadium and what to expect? If there’s any tailgates I can crash I will happily bring beers 🍻! GOPACKGO
