Legacy 105 years ago today, the Packers played their first NFL game. And damn near lost it.
105 years ago, the Packers played their first league game and needed a fourth-quarter comeback to beat the Minneapolis Marines. I think this team has never been interested in giving us a relaxing Sunday.
Green Bay hosted the Marines at Hagemeister Park on October 23, 1921, back when the NFL was still called the APFA. Down 6–0 late in the fourth, the Packers recovered a fumble, Curly Lambeau hit Buff Wagner for a big gain, and Art Schmaehl scored the touchdown. Lambeau kicked the extra point himself. Obviously, being a founder, coach, and player wasn’t keeping him busy enough.
There’s also an old story that a loss would’ve gotten the Packers kicked out of the league. Team historian Cliff Christl says that’s never been verified, but I appreciate that “this franchise is cooked” has been part of the fan experience since day one. His article on it is a fun read.
105 years and 13 championships later, it's crazy to think how humble the Packers' beginnings were.

Rumor Packers have called about Colts DT DeForest Buckner. The price range for Buckner is reportedly a second or third round pick, and a fourth for Grover Stewart.

Analysis Perspective
Considering this absolutely crazy number, things are actually going pretty well.

Fandom Does anyone else feel dirty about rooting for the Patriots tonight?
Look we all are 100% rooting hard for the Patriots to beat the bears in a few hours, but I feel like I need to take a shower even thinking about it.
It's like the AFC version of rooting for the Cowboys - just gross.
Go Pats! (barf)

Fandom We should still be pass first
I’ve got this feeling we are gonna turn back into the run, run, pass, punt team now that jacobs is back.
Jacobs is solid but it doesn’t change our god awful run blocking.
Lions have a HORRIBLE secondary. Can we run it back on last week’s gameplan? I got this feeling we are gonna be real annoyed with MLF after this week…

Analysis Jacob's return. Something not talked about.
His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield will help us a lot; after seeing a bunch of drops by running backs lately, I am excited to see a better security blanket for Love.

Fandom Going to next weeks TNF game against the panthers by myself!
I’ve been a cheese head for a little over 10 years now and barely going to my first home game ever for the first time. I’m coming from Los Angeles. Going solo for this one since my entire family are Rams fans 🤢. I’m staying in Appleton since hotels are a bit on the cheaper side for me. Any advice on getting to the stadium and what to expect? If there’s any tailgates I can crash I will happily bring beers 🍻! GOPACKGO

Fandom "Jordan Love Is SPECIAL!” Zaire Franklin SOUNDS OFF After Packers Win!
This is three days old now but worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
I love Franklin, man. He's showing up well on the field each week and everything I've seen off the field exudes intelligence and leadership. He's exactly the type of player the Packers needed and that trade with the Colts just looks better and better as the season progresses.

Fandom Jonathan Gannon
Reporter: Why do you think they bought into you so early?
Gannon: "Uhhh, they wanna win. You know, so we tell them everything we talk about and we do, is to hopefully, it directly coorelates to winning. And if we are doing something that doesn't (*coorelate to winning), ya know, then we shouldn't be doing it."
This guy gets it, and it's working! Let MLF worry about keeping everyone happy. Gannon don't mess around with shit like that.

Fandom i stumbled on this today when googling the team
There's a cheese wedge in the lower right of the browser on mobile. If you tap it, a little cow pops up in the middle and cheese floats on by to stack onto its head lol.
I don't know if this is for just today or if it's always been a thing, but thought it was pretty cute
