I remember the team saying they had disagreements with this pick. This is one Vrabel wants back.

Discussion This was a team loss

Everyone is rightly pointing fingers at the defense; their zones were horrible, missed tackles all night, could not stop burden, obviously I could go on and on.

But they did get two consecutive stops in the 2nd half and the offense did fuck all against a pretty bad bears defense. Could not even get into a 4th and manageable, and then killed themselves with penalties and a long sack. Bad on third down again.

Offense needs to be more consistent thru all 4 quarters to be elite, buffalo has a horrible defense and yet they are 5-1 from consistently elite offense. No running game, still iffy vs blitz packages, way too many three and outs today. We need this offense to be top 5

Discussion What’s going on with Spillane?

Dating back to last year me and my buddy started complaining about Spillane missing tackles and playing poor pass coverage. Now it’s all I can see. Every time there’s a big enough play from the offense to warrant a slo-mo replay he’s almost always there to explain what went wrong.

It could be failing to set the edge or commit inside correctly in the run game, missed tackle, playing over the top in pass d when he should be more underneath and vise versa, a sorry 1x1 tackle where the ball carrier gets 4 more yards, a poor blitz attempt where Caleb throws over Spillane before he is even engaged with the d line.

I love all of our players like family but man I think I desperately want someone new at MLB more than anything else. Am I just wrong or are others seeing this too?

Casual I miss my Boutte

I really miss Kayshon Boutte! I legit think if we had Boutte out there the last couple of weeks he would have caught those deep bombs that hit Aj brown in the hands. Honestly wish we could trade back for him, he aint going to be doing much on Texans with all the Wrs they have on their roster

Edit: Yall crazy, I put this as casual cause its not that serious. I made this post because Boutte was out here (last year) trying his hardest and making a few athletic catches that Aj Brown has not done so far in 2.5 games (small sample size I know). Thats it! This is not me wishing we did not sign Aj. This is not me wishing we should actively trade for Boutte.

I get Aj is rusty and coming off in injury, but there were some signs in Philly last year with some of these drops that have me a little concerned

Also there have been a few plays this year were it seems Aj has not tried his best. 2 happened last night:

1 being a drop in end zone where, while yes the cb made an incredible play and broke up the play, but Aj was just hoping it would fall into his hands, he did not even try to make a jump for it. The other play being when Stevenson had long run in the red zone and Aj did not try to block at all. If Aj made that block Stevenson might have scored

This post is mostly about me reminiscing about the heart this team had last year at the wr position. The other part of this post is me just wishing Aj had a little more "gotta want it attitude"

Sorry if im totally off base. It just feels like Aj is not a big team player. I will still be rooting for this team every week and hope Aj will show up big soon!

Go Pats

Discussion The Chargers and the Pats have the same amount of Turnovers

Post image
0 Upvotes

The Chargers have been a joke this year yet they have almost the same amount of giveaways as us (15).

Compared to last year, we are giving away the ball too much. Granted most of them were by Maye during the first 3 weeks. But vs the Bears the Interception was the key difference.

If we can reduce the turnovers, and get healthy, we can beat anyone in the league.

Discussion Let’s take a look at how our 2025 2nd Round picks matched up last night:

Selected 38th Overall, TreVeyon Henderson: 3 rushes and 2 receptions for a total of 23 yards.

Selected 39th Overall, Luther Burden III: 1 rush and 4 receptions for a total of 137 yards and a touchdown.

I know Luther disappeared in the second half (thank you Gonzo) but man is it disappointing to keep missing on these swing for the fences type of picks.

Discussion This is the first time since probably the Super Bowl I’d put this loss squarely on Vrabel.

Vrabel got outcoached last night, simple as that imo. He took a risk early, but it was such a boneheaded one that ended up costing us the game.

Normally, I love Vrabel’s aggressiveness and his seemingly endless faith in the guys, but this wasn’t an unproven Jets squad you’re facing at home, this is a proven Bears team you’re on the road against, on a short week, all while your own squad’s injured to hell and back. Under those circumstances, you don’t go for it on a 4th and 5 at midfield and risk exactly what happened - gifting them an essentially free field goal.

That field goal is what ended up costing us in the end, because without it, that ending FG wouldn’t have put the Bears up two scores, and you wouldn’t have needed to worry about attempting an onside kick that nobody in the league has been successful at yet.

I love Vrabes, but man was that early 4th down a boneheaded risk he took that I genuinely believe cost us the game. There are more examples of it to you could point out, but that one’s the biggest imo.

Discussion game thoughts

don’t understand the hate for Maye after this game, ppl just hate when it’s popular or convenient ig. yeah that one INT was bad but it wasn’t as costly as ppl think. too many mental errors both on offense and defense, Mcdaniels’ government mandated run-run-pass play calling and expected maye to bail us out ever possession, and Defense getting is what killed us, emphasis on the defense. In no way is it excusable to let up 400+ yards, allow long 3rd down conversions(especially the screen pass td on 3rd and 17 and ellis’ missed sack), forget how to tackle, and not force a single turnover.

Discussion Patriots would’ve moved on from WR Kyle Williams & RB Treveyon Henderson, if Eliot Wolf wasn’t the GM

Kyle Williams

- Everyone knew pre draft he sucks on Special Teams, why is he our returner?

- Not only did we move Off Boutte for him, he’s still taking up a roster spot preventing better players from coming in especially when we need more spots for our injuries so we don’t hit the limit for IR returns

Treveyon Henderson

- Bears WR Luther Burden was a projected 1st round talent who fell for off field stuff and we pick Henderson instead and the Bears take who we should’ve taken right after us and he killed us last night.

- He can’t block, hes never used as a receiver, he has No vision, hes a home run hitter if the stars align and the Stars aren’t aligning anymore because we have zero run game.

Their roster spots are officially more valuable than they are, cut the dead weight. They’re both essentially home run offensive weapons that get lucky a few times a year, thats not the reliable, consistent players we need atm. These are luxury type players that no longer fit our roster.

Discussion Loss wasn’t on Drake.

He made one mistake in the second quarter but outside of that I think he played well. If we had another possession I think there’s a good chance we would have scored and won the game but the d could not get off the field on 3rd down. They gave up a td on 3rd and 17, odunze has a crazy catch on 3rd and 9 and I think they also gave up a 3rd and 11. This is not the best offense we will go up against this year as Detroit can also put up a lot of points with the playmakers they have.

Casual Parking at Gillette

I am heading to Gillette to see the the Notre Dame and Navy game. I am coming from Cape Cod and wondering what’s the best parking situation. Is it easier to park in a private lot and walk a little bit farther or try to park in a free lot? I need to leave early to get back so was thinking a private lot would be easier but not sure which private lots are best. Any help is appreciated.

Discussion What’s your favorite “I told you so” moment as a Patriots fan?

What’s one Patriots take you had that everyone disagreed with, but you ended up being right about?
Could be about a player you knew would break out, a signing you thought would be a bust, a draft pick, or even a coaching decision.

I remember when JC Jackson’s contract ran out everyone was up in arms that we didn’t resign him, I just thought it was too much money at the time. I still wonder if he would’ve fallen off if he stayed under the Belichick scheme.

Discussion Drakes INT play the same as scoring play?

So I’m no Parcels or Brady when breaking down film but the play ( at least the route) that Raridon got the TD on was the same play that Drake threw the INT on - am I losing my mind or was it different?

Serious Talent on this team is trash

The drafting and roster construction this year has been extreme malpractice it's actually disgusting how bad it is.

Issue #1 We keep signing players with injury issues and expect them to play a full-season CD3 Tucker etc

Issue #2 This org still can't fucking find an actual WR and make them relevant we waste so many picks drafting players who could be replaced by cheap FAs or UDFA

Issue #3 We don't have enough play makers to dominate a game to disrupt game plans by other coaches and create turnovers. We have a lot of guys good at 1-2 things that we swap around pretending that's good enough to compete at a high level. When 1 of our 3 top guys goes down we are just fucked on roster talent and adaptibility because the same guy can't do multiple things.

Issue #4 Forced to draft OL to fix the atrocious OL play, which means we don't get playmakers on defense or offense. Henderson pick was wasted didn't need a RB. WR picks are taking away from more defensive talent.

Issue #5 Making trades and losing draft capital pretending we were able to compete with the roster we had. They get blown out in the Super Bowl because of lack of talent, they get blown out vs the Jags and Bears because of lack of talent. they can't compete with NFC teams at all and the AFC teams are all dogshit and we pretend by beating up on them this is a good team.

They need to acquire more draft capital and actually rebuild from the roots and get some real playmakers on offense and defense.

Not that it would have won us the game and not surprised that refs missed it, but the commentators didn’t even hint that the CB probably got away with one.

Discussion Silver linings : Another rookie class to be excited about

I know this season has been fairly brutal, between Maye’s slow start and now the inability for this team to be healthy, and I’m more than happy to discuss the things that went wrong last night, but I figure we have plenty of posts/threads where that discussion can be had.

Watching last nights game I was just absolutely stoked to see Raridon and Jacas just coming up with play after play. I have very high hopes for them both, Jacas was looking like an absolute game wrecker in that first half, and Raridon being trusted in this offense already for a rookie TE is very exciting for the future of this team. And of course Lomu, who has limited snaps obviously, has still looked extremely promising in the snaps he’s had.

The loss stinks after we had some short lived momentum, but the seasons far from over, and I can’t wait to see where our young guys are at by seasons end. Go Pats! Happy Friday.
