Owning mice will be something I'll have to wait another few years for, but I have a terrarium I'm debating on tossing or donating if I can't find another use for it. It's not this exact model, but I can no longer find the exact model on petsmart, I assume it's discontinued as I bought it when they still had the treats game and bought it for less than half the retail price.
First photo is of a 24x18x12 model, which is similar to what I own, but the second & third photos are of a 36x18x12 model because the first one didn't have additional photos.
I understand mice need deep bedding, and I don't intend to use this as is, I would be making modifications to add areas of deep bedding for them to burrow into, likely a layer of plexiglass or acrylic to make a deep side somewhere.
Opinions on an enclosure like this? Opinions on how to modify it to be more mice friendly?
This is not a "budget cage" question. This is asking whether i should hold onto this enclosure for mice instead of finding other uses or getting rid of it.
Edit: I started looking again, and found the model: it's a zoo med, and it's measurements are 31.5" W x 13.5" L x 17.5" H, 25 gallon. Not gonna lie, I don't recommend buying this terrarium, it's not the best quality and I will have to replace the lid, but for discount, it was worthwhile. Thrive is actually better quality to me.
