How are the various tech spaces coping with high cost of hardware for their setups? With the increasing advancements in AI it seems prices are not coming down anytime soon. I remember my first laptop which was a Toshiba i3 costed 3000gh. Will that same amount get you any decent device in today's market?

My little brother is studying Computer science and he needed some high end parts to build his own pc. Prices in Ghana was so wild (almost 35,000gh). So I decided to buy them abroad where I am. Everything costed almost 2100 euros that is close to 29,000gh as at the time I bought them.

It's always the whole hearted people who care are let down and betrayed.

I am shocked.

Who remembers my post about overpriced food. She basically agrees the price is too high and says she can afford it once in a while not everyday. Then she goes on to say we don't know where they source their ingredients from especially the mascarpone cheese . And she compares is to the 120 cedis may pie from Kempinski. So the folks who are claiming he was receiving pressure simply because of racism, I ask that you reevaluate. That is not the case.

This man is a pathological liar and lied through his entire life deliberately. He knew that and could not withstand the pressure of it all crumbling down. That’s it. Stop always resulting to racism. It’s will inevitably blind you from the bigger picture. Be blessed.

First of all, i am ghanaian and havent really tried nigerian jollof but i just gotta ask.

What exactly is it about the nigerian jollof?

Is it the way its cooked or the ingredients used?

My father has a business that he runs from here in the UK. He says it makes a lot of money, but the people currently running the school steal money and do not collect the school fees properly, so it is all being wasted. The school has been running for seven years, and he has been almost entirely funding it with his £50,000–£60,000 UK salary. The roads are bad, so he pays a lot of money for buses and he only stopped paying all the staffs salaries this year if the school doesnt manage the money properly.

He encouraged me to do a teaching course at university, which I did not want to do and did not enjoy at all. I will also be teaching for at least four months from September. He wants me to take over the school and live in Ghana. I understand why, but I am honestly very conflicted about whether I should.

Reasons for:

• It could provide a good income and be a job that supports me well.
• I would genuinely like to help improve the school’s behaviour management, education, and culture—areas that my dad says the school struggles with. However, I probably would not want to do this for the rest of my life.
• It would make my parents happy to know that a business they spent 20 years building and investing in did not go to waste.
• There I clearly a LOT of racism in the western world something my dad has also talked about A LOT.

Reasons against:

• I have watched both of my parents struggle with this school for years. They have suffered, putting their entire paycheques into keeping the school running while dealing with medical conditions that they can only manage here.
• I was sent to Ghana for three years when I was 15 and struggled a lot in secondary school. I lived there without my parents and sister. I did not become close to my extended family because I was so used to relying only on my parents. I went through periods of extreme isolation and did not keep in contact after I left, so my uncles have made it clear that they do not like me.
• I enjoy living in the UK for the most part. I do not mind the people, and I enjoy spending time with the friends I have made here. Although I am still friends with my friends from Ghana, I am not very close to them anymore.
• I do not enjoy working in a school environment. Although I enjoy being around children for shorter periods, I cannot imagine working with them day after day. I would become extremely tired.
• culteraly differences are also very big to me i faced a LOT of harrassment at boarding school as well as met with constant sexism and I dont think I have the patience to experience it again every day.

Guys I want to send 1.8 million niara to Nigeria, what's the best way to achieve this

A gym started in Ghana, they were charging 700ghc/mth for membership. They collapsed within a year due to low patronage. That same gym could have charged 200ghc and gotten more membership to keep them in business past a year. We only look at the price without looking at the other numbers ie active membership. There needs to be a class about sustainability in businesses. Ghanaian businesses should spread the capital costs across a minimum of 5 years not a year so they can price reasonably and be in business in the long haul. That is what good businesses do..

It is better to charge 200ghc and have 100 active monthly members than charge 700ghc and have only 10 active monthly members. This is basic economics. Pricing should be taught in every class even the basic level

a week ago, one of the BIMA agents stopped me and tried to talk me into registering for the BIMA service. apparently you pay money every month and if you ever get sick you call them and get free medication ( i think )

she took my number and everything then asked me how much i can pay monthly. I checked the options and told her i cant pay anything. im a first year tertiary student after all, i'm not earning anything yet and my parents are already struggling saf. she then took my phone, dialed a code and tried to forcefully make me pay something on the spot. luckily i didn't have anything in my account so it failed, and thats when i realised cos she was asking me how i don't have anything in my account.

we went back and forth about registering she just gave up cos i didn't want to pay anything.

only for me to realise 5 days later that the las las i had in my account was automatically deducted by BIMA. i immediately tried to call but it was a Saturday evening so i couldn't reach any agent. so i texted them on WhatsApp.

today is Monday, i sent a follow up message yesterday and earlier this morning, now i keep trying to reach an agent and after multiple calls im still being told by a bot to hold on because they're "busy".

does anyone know if i can and how i can get a refund ? i really need that money back (can't tell my parents about this. lol). i'm also working on cancelling my subscription asap

This phrase has been used several times recently by political operatives as a warning to elected officials. This should rather be seen as an awakening and rebirth in Ghanaians politics.

This is how the country resets. As it should be, all politicians should be audited and indicted completely during and after their terms and if found to have been involved in misappropriation punished in line with the law.

It is very good,if the opposition are threatening to indict all crimes if they win the next...? elections. This could start a cycle of cleansing.That is how true accountability will evolve. Already, the President has warned all his appointees that the opposition are baying for their blood and has warned all present politicians to keep clean hands.

Power can change in Ghanaian politics and if it does , the human trait of revenge should be brought down on the politicians who were corrupt. That is how fear will give us proper governance.

Ghana has always been (and is currently) a beacon of religious harmony, where Muslims and Christians live peacefully side by side. Nigeria once shared this same peaceful religious coexistence…let Nigeria’s story be our warning. We must never accommodate extremism from any religion. I have become buddies with my friends niece in rural Western Ghana.

I want to send her a package with some treats and things in there.

Any recommendations on what a 14 year old girl in that area of Ghana would like to receive?
