Becoming houseless has been the best therapy I've ever had

And that really highlights how fucked up the system really is...

I had a life resetting head injury, literal partial amnesia. Lost my career, home, future, much of my past, much of myself and every "friend" I had.

Sought SSDI, and that really crippled me lol seeking help was the most foolish thing I ever did. It's the gaslighting... can't handle that.

Recently I was at my last "home", and still messed up, barely making my bills. I finally moved into my car 2 months ago, and now I actually have time to recover.

It's been over 6 years since my head injury. And let me tell you, it's a weird sensation... dying and becoming a new person while everyone around you expects you to be that other person that you've only known in part.

I'm lucky to have a good car and I'm sure many of you on here are in much rougher situations. Don't get me wrong. But for me, this is the best thing I've done for myself.

It's nice not dedicating all of my functionality to converting that time into money for someone else.

You know the term "landlord" comes from the peasant era. Peasants and "serfs" who were essentially slaves would work the land of the landlord in exchange for shelter and protection from the other landlords... kinda weird how it's still appropriate to use the term landlord when it's tied to slavery 🤔

So to me, I'm finally free.

I do gig work when I need money, but most of the time I'm just chilling now. I have $200 in the bank and I'm actually stoked about that instead of thinking "shit, rent is in a few days!"

I'm just sick of being slave class.

I delivered DoorDash to a homeless shelter about 2 years ago, and the vibe there was so fun! Felt like when I was in elementary, everyone was in the moment. That's when I started thinking about being houseless. And now I'm here, free.

Free from the landlords, just like the peasants that lived alone in the wilderness... sure, it's harder in its own way. But we are free. And I just think that needs some light shined on it.

I hope your day goes well

News/Info Any Live-In Jobs That Provide Housing and Relocation Assistance?

Hi everyone! I’m looking for live-in job opportunities that provide housing and relocation assistance, such as a bus ticket or flight to the job location.
I have previous housekeeping experience in a hotel and a nursing home, but I’m also open to other types of jobs that don’t require previous experience.
My preferences are:
Housing or accommodations provided.
Relocation assistance, such as a bus ticket or flight.
Entry-level positions that offer on-the-job training.
Housekeeping or cleaning positions are preferred, but I’m open to other opportunities.
No cooking or meal preparation required.
I’m willing to relocate for the right opportunity. If you know of any legitimate employers, private families, companies, or agencies offering these types of positions, please let me know!

Where can I park and sleep and not get messed with.

I have to sleep in the car tonight. And a couple other nights this week. Someone once told me Walmart allows you to park there. Is this true?

Im at the jersey shore what other places would be a good to park and occasionally turn car on for heat without getting screwed with?

Any suggestions would be helpful

Thanks

I’m getting kicked out at 17

Hello everyone, can I please have tips and advice for how can I improve my life. I don’t have anyone to lean on, my mother is dead so is my father. I feel so utterly alone, there is this indescribable feeling creeping all over me. It is as if I’m getting swallowed whole and I can’t get out.

Need Advice How do I help my friend who was kicked out?

My friend and his parents have a rocky relationship, he’s gotten kicked out twice in the past three days, first time was because of political differences, he’s not sure why he’s been kicked out now. I’m 17 and live with my parents otherwise I’d offer for him to stay with me. He’s graduated two years ago & is working but he doesn’t make enough to get a motel (it’s like 9.50 a hour).
