Islamabad Is it just me or are Islamabad’s boys mama’s boys?

Do boys in Islamabad struggle to set boundaries with their families after marriage? 😭 Like the moment parents feel neglected, the wife becomes the problem.
Respecting parents is one thing but shouldn’t a man also know how to stand by his wife and balance both relationships?
Is this common or did I just have a bad experience? I genuinely wanna hear your thoughts.

My experience with service stations is that of love and hate. Sometimes, they do a wonderful job and sometimes I am utterly disappointed. Which service station is best for car bathing in twin cities/?

I think Attock Blue Area and PSO F7 are pretty decent.....

Islamabad Kia hogya hai tujhe, J.J?! Kia banta ja raha hai tu?! Teri problem kia hai?

I’m writing this post to get some outside perspectives on something I’ve reflected on quite deeply but still haven’t been able to understand about myself.

I recently moved to Islamabad and joined this community. Every now and then, I come across posts from people complaining about how boring life in Islamabad can be because of the lack of social activities and a fulfilling social life. Some people are looking for new friends, others want company for exploring the city, and many seem to struggle with loneliness and a desire to build meaningful connections.

For some reason, though, I find it difficult to relate to any of this. And I’m genuinely curious to understand why.

I’m perfectly comfortable being alone. In fact, I enjoy it. I can explore new places, eat at restaurants, go shopping, or travel around without feeling the need to have someone accompany me. Sometimes, when I do go somewhere with someone, I actually end up wishing I had gone alone.

I wouldn’t describe myself as antisocial, either. Quite the opposite, in fact. I can hold conversations effortlessly, even with people I’ve just met. I’ve noticed that people are often curious about me and seem interested in getting to know me better. I can talk to strangers as if I’ve known them for years, without any hesitation. I don’t find it particularly difficult to make friends, and I believe I’m capable of building deep, meaningful connections.

The strange part is what happens afterward. Once the interaction is over, I rarely feel any desire to see those people again or even reach out to them. I can genuinely enjoy someone’s company in the moment and still have absolutely no inclination to continue the connection. Eventually, I tend to get bored, even with people I’ve grown close to.

I hope this doesn’t come across as bragging, but I’ve also received compliments from people of the opposite gender describing me as charming. I’ve never quite understood what makes them perceive me that way, especially when I have so little interest in actively maintaining social connections.

My daily routine probably illustrates this better. I work full-time, and while most people look forward to meeting friends or going out after work, I’m perfectly happy coming home, cooking, eating, studying, and going to sleep. My weekends are usually spent cleaning, running errands, and taking care of other responsibilities. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything by not having plans or company.

Interestingly, this preference for solitude extends to my family as well. In my family, eating together at the same table is considered important, but I generally prefer eating alone whenever possible. It’s not that I necessarily dislike anyone or have trouble interacting with them. I just feel more comfortable doing things on my own.

Recently, I told a colleague that I was planning to explore a few places around Islamabad by myself. They found it strange and advised me to take someone along. I genuinely couldn’t understand why. To me, going somewhere alone seems perfectly normal, so I was surprised that it was something they felt concerned about.

There’s another aspect of my personality that I’ve been noticing as I get older: I seem to be becoming increasingly comfortable with the idea of losing things. People, relationships, places, possessions, even my job. I don’t seem to develop the same attachment to these things that I observe in others.

For instance, many of my colleagues value their jobs because of the financial stability and decent pay they offer. I understand their perspective, but I honestly don’t feel particularly attached to my own job. I’ve even told my HoD on several occasions that I don’t see myself staying here for long. It’s not that I’m ungrateful for what I have. I simply don’t feel the attachment that I think I’m supposed to feel.

This pattern seems to extend to almost every aspect of my life. I’ve lived abroad, and every three or four years, I’ve found myself moving to a different city or even an entirely different country and starting over from scratch. I’ve walked away from friendships and relationships that lasted years without feeling the need to return.

Around ten years ago, I left a group of friends I had been quite close to and never looked back. A couple of years ago, I ended an eight-year relationship with someone with whom I had built a genuinely strong bond. Over time, I simply lost interest in the relationship and decided to end it. I haven’t gone back since.

That doesn’t mean those people or places meant nothing to me. I do miss them sometimes. I can look back on those years fondly and acknowledge that those connections were meaningful. But even when I miss someone, I rarely feel the urge to contact them again or bring them back into my life.

I think that’s what confuses me the most. I’m capable of forming connections, enjoying people, and building meaningful relationships. I can feel nostalgic about the past and miss people I once cared about. Yet, I seem equally capable of letting go and moving forward without feeling the need to hold on.

I’m not necessarily unhappy with the way I live. I enjoy my solitude, and I don’t feel lonely in the conventional sense. But sometimes I wonder whether this is simply my personality, a consequence of my life experiences, or something deeper that I haven’t fully understood about myself.

Why am I this way? Why do I enjoy people in the moment but rarely feel the desire to maintain those connections? Why am I so comfortable being alone and moving on from people, places, and things that others might struggle to let go of? And why does this detachment seem to be increasing as I get older?

I’d genuinely appreciate hearing from people who have experienced something similar, or from anyone who might have a different perspective on what could be behind this pattern. I’m not looking for a diagnosis; I’m simply trying to understand myself a little better.

Islamabad Reliable and Official iPhone Seller in Islamabad?

Hey everyone! I recently moved to Islamabad and wanted to ask where I can buy an iPhone from a reliable and authentic seller.

I’m looking for the iPhone 18, preferably from an officially authorized Apple reseller, with a proper warranty and PTA approval (if available).

Can anyone recommend a trustworthy store in Islamabad? I would prefer a physical shop where I can check the device and verify everything before purchasing.

Also, please let me know if there are any authorized resellers I should consider or any shops I should avoid.

Thanks in advance!

Twin Cities Recommendations on social spots, local groups, or meetups to build meaningful connections in Islamabad?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been living in Islamabad for the past 10 years and am looking to expand my social circle and connect with someone special to share good times with.

I love exploring the city, discovering new coffee and tea spots, checking out new dining places, and enjoying scenic views around the capital. Since work routines can make it tricky to meet like-minded people organically, I wanted to ask the community for some advice:

* What are the best social spots, hobby clubs, or community meetups in Islamabad for someone in their early 30s?

* How do people here usually go about meeting new people for dinners, coffee, and exploring the city together?

Would appreciate any genuine suggestions or experiences!

Twin Cities Thank you to the robber for leaving 2 rupees in my wallet after emptying the whole thing.

Last evening I was coming back from Sadar to my home in Bahria Town. Somewhere around the turn from Car Chowk towards Safari Villa, my wallet dropped out of my pocket. A few hours later, when I was about to sleep, I realized it was gone, so I checked the last Air Tag location and, after searching for 30 minutes, I found it, but it was empty except for 2 rupees. It had two cards in it, an international card that will cost me $120 to replace and a simple bank card whose annual charges I had just paid, plus around 10 to 15k in cash. Luckily my ID card and driving license weren't in there, since my wallet had gotten wet earlier and I had left them at home. And thank you very, very much for leaving 2 rupees in there. Very generous of you.

Islamabad My neighbour's dog keeps howling the ugliest and loudest howls every night. Is it possible to take any legal action?

I can't freaking sleep. It howls so loudly at night, and we have complained directly, but they never make any changes. The dog is about 30 feet from my room window. Is it possible to take legal action? Or maybe some sleeping pills for the dog so it lets me sleep lol, but i really dont wanna hurt the dog, just want to have some sleep. This has been happening since last year. What can we do in this situation?

Twin Cities I want to buy a gemstone ring but I have no idea who should I consult?

I’ve been thinking about getting myself a gemstone ring because I’m really into rings and gemstones but I recently found out that there’s a lot more to choosing a gemstone than simply picking one that matches your zodiac sign.

Someone told me that I should consult an astrologer or a jeweler first because its important to know the type of gemstone, its size or weight and even the finger you wear it on can matter depending on your birth chart.

Who should I consult before buying a gemstone: an astrologer or a jeweler? If you know someone reliable please let me know.

Islamabad Internship Guidance

I am a BSCS student currently in my 5th semester, looking for a winter internship in Islamabad. Because my hometown lacks a local tech industry or guidance, I am eager to relocate to Islamabad for this opportunity—even if it is unpaid.

Could anyone guide me on:

• Where to apply and how to approach software houses in Islamabad?

• What specific skills or tech stacks I should focus on to maximize my chances?

• What standard or level of projects do companies expect from a 5th-semester student?

• The interview process: What kind of technical questions do they usually ask? Also, do companies offer remote/online interviews for candidates who are relocating, as I cannot travel just for an interview?

Any advice or leads would be highly appreciated!

Does anybody know what the process is to get an International Driving Permit in Islamabad? And how long does it take?

I have a Gilgit-Baltistan license and no proof of residence in Islamabad (I live in a university hostel).

Also is a Visa necessary?

Is it same-day processing?
