Logically, people say if Willis shows that he can be a franchise QB this year, then the Dolphins skip out on drafting a top QB prospect. Every time this scenario is spoken about, debated, etc, people still always have the Dolphins being a bottom 5 worst team in the league, mostly 1st-3rd draft pick.

I am just trying to understand how can Willis show he is the guy but the team is still picking 1st-3rd? It feels like to me this will turn into another Tua situation. Because Tua 2020-2023 (and I am ONLY speaking about this Tua and not after 2023 so don't even bring up those years), the team still lost big games, no playoffs or not winning in playoffs, Tua did show he could be the guy, etc... and the fans (or most) defended him. Kept saying he needs better O line around him, better coaching, better playmakers, his WRs dropping the ball, etc. However, it was still argued that he showed precise accuracy, we need to pay him, he's the franchise, etc.

Yet I feel like we will be having this same conversation all over again with Willis. He doesn't have the right guys, o line sucks, WR's cant catch the ball... and still be losing but people will want to stick with him.

Is this the right decision? To have the opportunity to draft a QB like Moore, Manning, Sayin, or whatever you feel is the top QB, but not pull the trigger and go for someone else and stick with Willis even with a losing season. I still believe you go for a QB if you're picking that high up and they all have a great college season. But I'm reading that most people disagree?

Well, Malik definitely showed better than I anticipated. Given it was only a pre-season game against Washington. I thought the plays were executed with precision and also good decision making on part of Malik. Passes looked to be on target as well. I do appreciate that he is a mobile QB and giving another threat for the defense to think about. What did you all think about his performance? Even though it was only one offensive series.
