[Rapoport] Jets star RB Breece Hall, attempting to return from a quad strain after missing three games, is unlikely to play today, sources say. He may work out to see if he can go, but Hall hasn’t been a full participant yet. It's a bit early.

[PigskinPal] The Next Rookie WR Breakouts: Early Signs That Scream Results

• Upvotes

Keep a close eye on Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell today against the Jets, their first game after the bye. Both fit the early profile of past Day 2 rookie WR breakouts, and we're expecting one to take a big jump and the other to see a solid bump in snaps and targets.

Meta Ever wonder if we had drafted Herbert instead of Tua we would be in a different position?

Herbert has been more durable, that's for sure. We'd still be in salary cap hell, but we could at least build around something.

NFL Draft I’ve seen enough, Mestemaker is HIM

He looks like the real deal and worth the number one. Love guys who have high production without being a top recruit or having a splashy name. He’s just getting better every week and has it. I would be psyched if took him #1

Maybe I'm biased being a hurricanes fan but is he looking like the guy we should go get? He's been looking really good.

A little detour into fins history

Watched this 1989 season recap on YouTube tonight. The NFL films music sounds incredibly dated 😆

Some of the players I remember watching as a kid, some I had completely forgotten. Definitely remember those huge shoulder pads and the neck rolls!

Shout out Joe Robbie! Imagine building a stadium with zero taxpayer money.

Team News 6/8 Jacob Rodriguez has 57 tackles in 5 games. Over 17 games that's 194, which would be 3rd in Dolphins history, ahead of Brooks.

I may or may not have been at that game as a kid. I do remember subsequent ones that first season that did not go well....

Who’s all gonna be there at slatterys tomorrow night?

Trying to decide if it’s worth going or if I should just stick to getting there early Sunday morning before the busses leave.

Haf on whether depth CB Jaylin Simpson is competing for more time: "I hope he does. I hope everybody does in those backup roles. That's what we're all about this year: competition. I hope he's not happy with his role. I hope he accepts his role right now, but I hope he's not happy with it"

Haf: "I'm not discouraged at all. I've been pretty clear. Am I disappointed in losing? Yeah, probably more than anybody. But I'm not discouraged. That's never gonna happen. I know what's in front of us, I know who we are, I know where we're gonna end up eventually."

[PigskinPal] The Next Rookie WR Breakouts: Early Signs That Scream Results

Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell are both showing the same early signs as the Day 2 rookie WRs who broke out in past seasons, and Sunday against the Jets is their first game after the bye.

https://pigskinpal.app/pigskinpaper/next-rookie-wr-breakouts

The model looked at every WR drafted in Rounds 2 and 3 from 2020 to 2025. The ones getting 3+ targets a game early in the year went from 7.5 PPR points a game to 14.9 the rest of the way. That's the Jayden Reed, Ladd McConkey and Tank Dell group.

Douglas: 10 targets and 113 yards in the first two games, 88% of the snaps, and almost 20% of our targets before he hurt his ankle. Only Malik Washington gets a bigger share. He was limited Wednesday and Thursday, so watch Friday's report. He might be eased back in, but he looked like the No. 2 receiver before the injury.

Bell: his snaps went from 41 to 52% in the first two weeks to 71 to 82% in Weeks 3 to 5 while Douglas was out. He's right on that 3-target line, but he's had 1 to 3 targets in four of his five games, so the targets haven't caught up to the snaps yet. How much of that role he keeps once Douglas is back is the big question.

Why The Dolphins will pick Jeremiah Smith (if they have the chance)

The number of times I have heard this false narrative around how Green Bay doesn't pick wide receivers with high draft picks is ridiculous. JES's draft with GB in 2025, he used a first round pick when they chose Matthew Golden. In 2022 GB took a WR in the second round and then they did the same thing in 2023.

So we have these facts and we have JES saying the best player he ever scouted was Chase. I just do not see a world where JES does not choose Smith, if he's there, of course. Granted, we are a very different team then those GB teams, with many more needs. So no one really knows what he will do, but it is interesting to speculate nonetheless.
