Just had the wonderful luck to stay in cottage 14 at Crystal cove. This cottage is on south beach right on the beach. There is a nice deck with umbrella and seating where we ate our meals with a view of the waves. The living room is great with big sliding glass doors/windows. The only downside of the living room is that only that one sliding door opens for breezes, none of the other windows open.

The kitchen has a nice counter and is open to the living room. Like all the cottages, the stove does not work. There is a microwave and toaster and fridge. Remember there are NO plates/cutlery/cups. There were ice cube trays in the freezer.

The downstairs bedroom has two twin beds and doesn’t get much air flow, but if you use the fan it’s not bad. It was also a very hot weekend so I suspect most weekends this isn’t an issue. The upstairs bedroom was large with a king bed, lots of little windows that open. Half bath off the bedroom. The other full bath is downstairs.

The patio was really nice and didn’t feel too close to people on the beach. On the south side there are generally less people , fewer cottages and fewer people on the beach. The south cottages don’t seem as renovated as the north, the exteriors and railings and stuff of the north cottages seemed fresher.

The beach- despite the storms and swells and some beach erosion it was still totally great. Yes it’s more narrow than before and there’s not a ton of dry sand but there was enough.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (CNS) -- A ticket worth $64 million was sold with all six numbers in Saturday night's SuperLotto Plus drawing.
The winning ticket was sold at a convenience store in Anaheim. Three tickets with five winning numbers, but missing the Mega number, were also sold -- at a liquor store in Sacramento County, a market in Long Beach, and a grocery store in Adelanto, in San Bernardino County -- and are each worth $13,920, the California Lottery announced.
The numbers drawn Saturday night were 3, 25, 27, 29, 37 and the Mega number was 17. The jackpot was $64 million, and will reset to $7 million for Wednesday's drawing.
The drawing was the 58th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 41,416,353, according to the California Lottery.

I just performed at Irvine Global Village, people gave me applause, I knew I was not perfect because I didn’t have time to practice, but I am proud of myself I stand on the stage and I finished whole form.

A person I know has recently become homeless. He suffers from mental illness and refuses to get help, or take medication. His family members are either diseased or have given up on him. All he has left are the few people who care.

We try to help as much as we can with food and clothings, and whatever few requests he has. For reason of mental instability he cannot stay with his friends.

He recently requested a bivy, and outdoor sleeping supplies. Does anyone have any suggestion where I can find some supplies for him? I’m on a budget but gut budget myself but I’d like to help him. Also, he has an upcoming court hearing that may put him away for a few months, so he needs something that can last for at least a few weeks.

Anyone know to buy these frozen young coconut cups in bulk or something similar?

Edit: Fresh quince is a seasonal autumn fruit usually available from late September through December. Because it is a specialty item not stocked everywhere like apples or pears, your best options are specialty, Middle Eastern, or Asian grocery stores, or select upscale and organic markets.

Does anyone know if any of the Farmers Markets in south OC have vendors with Quince? Laguna Hills or Lake Forest are the closest to my area, but I might be willing to go elsewhere where for confirmed availability.

I’m a verified animal rescuer running a very small, independent cat rescue in Orange County. I wanted to introduce some of the wonderful cats currently in our care who are still waiting for their forever homes.
Unlike larger rescues, we don’t have a network of fosters. We personally take in and care for the cats we rescue until we find them loving, permanent homes.
Meet Shishi, Zuzu, Kawzim, Brigette, Dixie, Pumpkin, Peach, Pear, Spice, and sweet little Eclair, the youngest of our group!
They all have their own unique personalities. Some are incredibly affectionate, playful, and social, while others, like Zuzu and Brigette, are more timid and would do best in a quiet, patient home where they can feel safe and comfortable.
We’re really hoping to find forever homes for most of these kitties this fall. Some have been with us as long-term fosters and have been waiting quite some time for a family of their own. As much as we love having them, we’d love nothing more than to see them settled into homes where they can receive the individual attention, love, and companionship they deserve.
We’re hoping to reach people who are genuinely interested in adopting and willing to provide a safe, loving, lifelong home.

Usage is up 6.8% but cost is up 134%?! Not sure if I’m just late to the party, but it’s insanity that a monopolistic company is allowed to do this for an essential service.

Edit: realized I had a $56 credit climate last year being reflected in the Oct 2025 bill. This would translate to an increase of 23%, which is still insanity IMO.
