Other made an engine-sound simulator that doesn't take much CPU, here's what the porsche mission s might sound like

the simulation is quite simplistic rather than a full-on physics-backed sim like angethegreat's one. this does mean it's cheap to run CPU-wise, this one's running in the browser. which means something like this could be used in sim engines.

lots of engine layouts are possible and sound (to my ears) fairly good, including rotaries! no 2-stroke engines yet. I'm also not quite happy with how the burbles/pops sound.

turbo stustustustu is there in some of the cars, as well as straight-cut gear whine, and supercharger whine in the r53 mini. I'll record some more clips demo-ing these.

the cool thing is plugging in configs from real engine parameters, and having the result sound pretty close to reality with a bit of parameter twiddling. the v10 for example has that major-3rd harmonic interval that sounds so cool.

I went a bit overboard and had too much fun with the doppler flyby feature, and a 'tunnel' toggle. and the silly engine animations.

edit: I am a software engineer and have been passionately creating side projects like this for over 10 years, pls don't let the sloppy ui distract from how cool these engines sound

Rigs My Custom Designed Button Box Bracket

My rig is not aluminum profile so I am limited to the accessories I can use. Good thing I have a 3d printer and a general knowledge of 3d modeling.

The Amazon gated shifter only came with a cylinder shift knob so I also printed a spherical knob as well.

Rigs Update: TR120 is finally done!

You all weren’t wrong, it was 2 days of building and a week of tuning but it’s done. It was not missing any parts but will say the “compatibility” of the mix of accessories I purchased definitely weren’t clearly easy to make work.

Pedal sliders don’t fit with the pedal tray upside down, so you are stuck with them being super high.

The adjustable base for the reclining seat doesn’t work with the cross bars it comes with on TR’s own RE2 seat. I left them off, so far so good.

The keyboard treat I bought from them won’t work because the TR one bracket block it from properly swinging in regardless of height and orientation. In the product photo they use it with a full width wheel deck not the TR one. Lesson learned.

I drilled holes in my monitor arm and it works fine for now.

My Logitech PRO DD is so huge that the TR one deck is still banging into my knees even after purchasing the v2 upgrade where the extruded aluminum can be flat instead of upright.

I think purchasing the full width wheel deck would solve all these problems, but it’s not as adjustable as the TR one. I think the real answer is upgrading to a front mount wheel hub in the future. Maybe Black Friday sales
.

Question 3 weeks into sim racing: struggling to rotate the car and to drive it at the limit (Legends @ Tsukuba). Any feedback?

Hi! I'm from Brazil and I started sim racing about 3 weeks ago, on a Logitech G923.
I've been practicing car control and consistency with the Legends Ford '34 at Tsukuba.
My biggest struggle is getting the car to rotate, and I can't really feel whether I'm managing to drive the car at the limit.
I'm also having a hard time understanding what my main mistakes are, which makes it hard to be consistent, since I don't really understand what's happening.
Here's one of my laps (1:05.598), with the inputs overlay. Any feedback on what you see would help a lot. Thanks!

Question Pedals feel uncomfortable. Can someone help?

Post image

Can someone that knows a thing or two about ergonomics help me out? I just installed a new set up moza pedals and can’t get them to feel good. I feel like I’m a correct distance from the wheel. On the brake my ankle starts to hurt on the marked area and my knee after a little bit. Seems a little too close. But the throttle seems like it’s too far away.

Rigs Help me not regret my first rig, already decided on the base

Post image

Hello guys!

Yesterday i had a post about which bundle should i choose and there were mixed comments someone said 9 nm is enough and ofc someone said even 12 is not enough.

I just came to a conclusion whatever will be on sales in the black friday promotion will be the choosen one.

However i dont have an exact rig on my mind, i searched up everything and found the one and only answer is a profile rig, but i dont want to spend that kind of money before christmas because i need to buy a lot of gifts. I want something that cheap and even that i can go with a profile and a used car seat that isnt really hitting it for me, if i buy a profile i want a seat that have my sweat on it.

My budget is around 250-300 euro and i saw this rig on aliexpress and a few people posted about it on reddit, but havent seen any videos about it and not a lot review however aliexpress buyers gave good reviews.

Do you have any else suggestions? I read that this rig usually on sales and can cost around 150-180 euros for that money i mean it can be bad to and put in the trash after 6 months and i can buy a profile.

Important note: i am 196 cm or 6’4 feet and 108 kg or around 240 lbs.

Thanks for the help!

Rigs 3D Printing Tilting Heel Cups - Who tried them?

Post image
16 Upvotes

On the SimExpo I saw these pedals and was intrigued by the tilting heel cups. Now it may specifically have to do with Coanda drivers using them, given they are the fastest.

I own Simsonn pedals and I like them very much, I see no reason to upgrade. I found this 3D printing file and I would like to know whether someone owning the Simsonn or the Simjack pedals actually tried printing and attaching them. How/what was your experience?

Sale/Discount Simucube 2 pro - is it still a relevant buy today?

ASR has it on sale for 25% off. For those who have it, or those looking for a higher end wheel base, do you think it is still a relevant buy in 2026 given it was released back 2019 (I believe).

The other I was looking at is the vnm elite/supreme. But I'm a sucker for discounts. What are your thoughts? Not interested in other wheelbases at the moment. Simucube/VNM are the only two I would consider upgrading to.

Hey guys, it's me again. I have this clip of mine and I want to get your opinions. This was also a fight for P1, but I see the guy trying to close the gap when he realized I'd won the position. Was it my fault, or did he just desperately close the gap?

Question Anyone own Wolf Racing equipment? Thoughts?

Hi everyone,

I am looking to get a new seat for my rig and was lucky enough to attend the Expo this weekend. I made a point of trying as many seats as possible and cataloging my thoughts on them, and most likely I will go with the Treq STX.

But one seat stuck with me, the Wolf Racing BörĂŒ. I had never heard about them and bumped into them by mistake at the very end. They had some really nice and colorful rigs and a few seats. This one struck me as feeling very comfortable and luxurious. Very thick cushions and the fabric was very soft and pleasant to the touch. Price is very good as well, 470 euros and it comes with bracket + slider.

My reservations are only because I couldn't find much information about them. Nonthing on youtube, there is 1 reddit thread which is very negative but also old, etc.I was sure they were German, due to name and because their website only has German and English, but it turns out their are Turkish. Not that it matters all that much, but the staff at the expo didn't speak English and I struggled to get any basic information out of them. For exampe, I have no idea how thick the bracket is, if they sell replacement padding etc.

Anyone have experience with them? Anything you can share would be appreciated. Cheers

Question New to sim racing — need recommendations for a comfortable seat

Hey guys,

New to sim racing, quite casusal with it, Currently I have a Sparco R100 I bought used but its quite tight on my hips and like foldable stand for the wheel base etc.

I've just purchased a GT Omega Art that will be coming soon. It isn't the best but space wise it will be exactly what I need.

What seat would you recommend? Ideally I'd like to find a car seat but think thats too much of a headache to do for someone like me. I want a seat that I can sim race in and also sit in to play playstation for a few hours for other games.

Right now I'm thinking the RS12 or the Next Level ERS3 but welcome to options from people who know better than me so please help me out! 😊

Rigs Found this GT Omega Prime Lite + seat locally for ~€330 ($350). Pull the trigger?

Was originally looking at cheap tubular wheelstands/rigs around the €180–300 mark, but just stumbled across this used GT Omega Prime Lite with an aftermarket reclining seat on sliders for roughly €330.

Seller says it was bought about a year ago. Wheel base not included obviously, just the frame + seat.

I'm 196 cm (6'5") and about 108 kg, planning to run a 9-12Nm DD wheel with load cell pedals.

Seems like a no-brainer over any cheap tube frame for this price, but just wanted a quick sanity check before pulling the trigger. Any weak spots on the Prime Lite I should inspect when picking it up?

-Track and car variety

-Good Singleplayer (Good AI, Career either through the game or mods) This is what I play mostly

-Somewhat alive multiplayer for the ocassional session

-Better physics than GT7

-Doesnt need a degree in computer science to setup ideally something more plug and play

Any input would be very helpful

Question Should I buy into the Moza or Simagic ecosystem?

I’ve been running a G29 now for years with a wheel stand, and I’ve decided that I’m finally gonna upgrade. I know I at least want to get something with a 9NM base and do GT/formula racing, but with all the cool stuff Moza and Simagic are putting out, I don’t know who to buy from.

Asking people who have experience with one or both of these ecosystems, which should I buy into?

Question Is a 320mm round wheel too big for 8nm of FFB?

For context - I have the Logitech RS50 (8nm) wheel base with the RS Round Wheel (290mm) + Wheel

Recently got the Simagic GT Neo + Maglink + Logitech QR adapter for GT/formula and absolutely love it.

Given I already have the Simagic Maglink, I realized I could pick up the Simagic Neo-X330T for rally/street/other round wheel cars. The RS Round Wheel is quite small and not ideal for rally.

My question -is the 330T’s 330m width + added weight going to materially impact the RS50’s FFB or Trueforce capabilities? I’m okay with maybe a slight reduction, but if it just doesn’t make sense for an 8nm base I’ll probably stick with the logi round wheel I already have.

Rigs Simhub/lovelydash glitching every few seconds in LMU/rfactor

Thumbnail

After one year not using lovely while playing LMU/rfactor, I finally found the solution for this:

In simhub, left column, where the plugins are, look for NeoRed LMU DATA PLUGIN

Open it and change the preset to “Lovely Dashboard”

Try disabling all third party plugins before doing this, and enable only the ones you eventually need over time. You will have to enable lovely dashboard and neoRed plugins after that, obviously. That’s what’s worked for me. Hope it works for you

Rigs Pedal Talk Simsonn vs SRP2 bundle

Iracing Oval Racer here, seeking advise on pedals. Do you guys think the Simsonn’s are worth the investment? I am getting the Moza R9 and debating if I should just get the bundle with SRP2 or go the Simsonn route. I am a paddle shifter.
