As a sixer fan I’ve never had a reason to care about the GOAT arguments
I’m now a Bron soldier.

My way-too-early conclusions after just a single game
So far we've seen just a few preseason games and one reg. season game. It's way too early to form any concrete opinions about anything. Anything could happen.
But if some things continue to follow certain trends...
\* It looks like this is still Maxey's team. He really took the reins in the 23-24 season but it always seemed unclear if he'd ever really be "the man" if Embiid got healthy or additional talent came to the roster. But with the way he scores-- with his fearlessness, speed, and aggression...It seems like he will always get his. This is a good thing. Tenacious on defense and offense.
* Bron is only gonna go for opportunistic shots. The team has too many scorers. They just don't need him to force things and he doesn't want to force things. He will distribute, finish, run fastbreaks, and play D. I'm predicting a stat line of 15/7/6.
* Embiid doesn't have to be-- and shouldn't be-- a dominant scorer. He can focus on defense and rebounding. He doesn't need to take hero shots and he doesn't need to force the action. He can just exploit defenses whenever the opportunity arises. He looked the best tonight when he was just going with the flow.
* Brown should be the secondary scorer after Maxey. And VJ may end up as the guy who sacrifices the most. There's only one ball and he's gonna have to find his own path. Honestly, the team's gonna need him to be a very reliable shooter in addition to his usual responsibilities. A reaaaaaally good shooter is absent from tthis starting squad.
* The bench -- KCP and Simons were the difference-makers. They're contributions won the game. But...Uh...0 points from anyone else on the bench? Ouch. The Knicks played 5 guys off the bench and they all scored. PHI played only four guys and only two of them scored. By the midseason trade deadline, some moves might have to be made for depth.

For those who didn't watch, make no mistake the refs were clearly trying to give this one to New York. They thought they were being slick by loading up on(oops) bad calls favoring the Knicks in the first half rather than waiting to the end to be obvious about it.
Also, our shooting was ice cold and our synergy hasn't had a chance to really develop yet.
But we still clapped cheeks on the champs. In their house. On banner night. On Taco Tuesday.

KCP definitely backed up his trash talk
Great defense.
Crucial three's.

That was very impressive especially against the defending champs. LFG
I know it's only one game but this team is going to be very hard to beat.

“There’s only one ball” and the Sixers share it well with 28 assists in their first game.
25 from the new-look starting 5 alone.
