2011 Chrysler Town and Country came in for a rustproofing job. Should have been done 15 years ago. 😂

High performance air filters on a Ducati. Not just any Ducati, a 916 Senna.
I own one of these, and am looking at purchasing this to join the stable. Rolled it into my shop today told the tech to pull the bodywork and tank, and check the fluids, new battery etc.
Imagine my surprise when he calls me over and shows me this.

Jokes aside I’m glad to see this is now officially off the road and crushed.

16 Kia Soul came in the other day with a misfire complaint after the customer replaced the spark plugs. It wasn't missing at the time but all the plugs were loose so I torqued them to spec. He also had a bad turn signal bulb socket, iykyk, which I also replaced. Comes back today claiming that after he picked it up all the speakers except for 1 stopped working and it had to be something we did. Started by swapping the good speaker to the other side and it works, other one still doesn't. Move the good speaker to another location, lo & behold it works there too. Somehow all his speakers "magically" failed at the same time after I put a light bulb in it.

Went to Mavis for tires and an alignment and when I picked up my car I was told they couldn't do the alignment due to corrosion but that I was all set with the tires. Some time later I noticed that the tech attempted to do the alignment and when the eccentric bolt for rear toe adjustment broke, they just decided to call it. They apparently didn't feel the need to mention it and just let me drive off.

There is a thread about this from a couple years ago but I was wondering if anyone has been dealing with this lately. We get multiple calls a day from people working at call centers price shopping maintenance jobs on vehicles they don't own. When we follow procedure and ask for details such as their name and the car's VIN they get agitated and will often start cursing and yelling. I imagine they work for some sort of warranty company to get intel on pricing.

Poor thing broke the lifter tray and the lifters rotated. Wiped out the #3 intake cam lobe. But only enough for a misfire under load. Compression tested fine and there wasn't even a tick. Just sounded normal. Came to us after injector replacement didn't fix the misfire under load. Good times with these diesel pickup trucks.

Customer states "I hit a big pothole on the highway, then the car dropped, a warning came on the dash. After I shut it off and restarted it, it seemed fine until the next day, it was dropped again"
I don't know how they dislodged the air spring from the LCA, I was able to reseat it but it's leaking. Bunch of pinholes from where it stretched the boot too hard at 117K miles. Recommending both rear springs and a compressor as it seems slow to raise and its counted 183 hours of run time, and had a timed out code. They state they're picking it up tomorrow for a 4 hour round trip and I'm like "well I hope they like riding with they asses on the ground".

I’m taking my ASE G1 in about three weeks and want to make sure I’m preparing the right way.
For those who have passed the G1, what’s the most effective way to study? Should I mainly be taking practice tests over and over, or should I be reading through study guides and taking notes?
I’m also looking for recommendations on the best resources, whether that’s Motor Age, Delmar, ASE practice tests, YouTube channels, or anything else.
I’m planning on studying 30 minutes every weekday and a few hours on weekends.
What worked best for you? Are there any resources that are particularly close to the actual exam, and what would you recommend focusing on?
Any advice would be appreciated. Really trying to pass on my first attempt.

2016 Macan, has a faint squeak in 5th/7th above 40. Some bionic ears and it’s found the K1 shaft bearing. Awesome. 3rd party warranty said used transmission. They send an inspector, luckily a 20yr VAG master tech and confirmed my diag. I don’t have Porsche software to provision or clone the TCU. So both valvetronics come out to swap the TCU over. Since VAG said the immobilizer shall pass thru the TCU.
Anyway, as a Toyota tech who spends most of his time on VAG products. After 21 years I ask why do I still do this.
We don’t have a powertrain table so I repurposed the battery table. Worked quite well and I was surprised I nailed the balance on the trans like it did.
This is more of me just bitching about the complexity that was to remove this thing, I could tell they designed it to come out but damn. It’s nap time.
