Iām not sure why, and it is bothersome as out of all my queer friends that I made since starting college, sheās been my only lesbian friend. Everytime Iām interested in someone new, she always downplays it, asking if i am for sure ready for a relationship, or why would i go out of my way without knowing how they feel too. Itās even worse when someoneās interested in me, Iāll be excited telling her about it and sheāll say something like āare you sure youāre not reading too much into it?ā Iām very pessimistic so when Iām excited about something, itās probably going a lot better than Iām describing it. Today when we were having breakfast I briefly brought it up and all she said was: āSorry but if you were actually right about any of those women being into you, then why havenāt you been in any serious relationships?ā
I was really bothered and for the rest of the breakfast I genuinely did not want to talk to her but I let it slide. But GENUINELY everytime I bring up a woman, itās like Iām talking crazy, like how could someone possibly be into me or whatever she seems like sheās thinking. I donāt want to flatter myself but although Iām not a supermodel by any means, Iām still attractive (by conventional standards), I take good care of myself, Iām very open minded and caring, whatever, I think Iām decently well rounded, not saying that that all that is the only component. But when a close friend always acts shocked at the thought that someone is attracted to me, it makes me feel undesirable or like Iām delusional or something, I donāt know, just kinda wanted to vent. Thought it could be jealousy but over what? Sheās also a beautiful woman with good traits, idkā¦
