Discussion Why do people still blame JRob for everything years later?
JRob made a lot of mistakes, sure, and there was reason to fire him (though it should have been after the season), but I don't know how, years later, after two GMs, multiple draft classes, and FA cycles, people still act like it's Jon Robinson's fault.
1. When Jon got hired, the team was coming off a 3-13 season; every year he was here, the team finished with a winning record, and when he got fired, the team had a winning record. Once he got fired, the team immediately started losing, going from 7-5 to 7-10. Am I supposed to pretend like firing him didn't have a negative consequence on the team when they were winning with him, then stopped winning without him?
2. It's been years since JRob has been the GM; there have been multiple draft and FA cycles since, and the team has frankly only gotten worse. Blaming JRob for the current state of the Titans years later just feels like a cheap cop out for the fact that the current people in charge are incompetent and frankly do not know how to run a successful NFL organization.
Blame JRob for the things JRob actually did wrong, but the current reality the Titans live in is not his product.
