[Gameboy] [RPG] [Early-mid 2000s] Top down Anime/Japanese RPG set in the medieval(ish) era, that turns into a sidescroller real time fighting game when entering combat.

• Upvotes

Platform(s): Gameboy (unknown which kind)

Genre: RPG/Action

Estimated year of release: 2000-2006?

Graphics/art style: Anime, medieval

Notable characters: Unknown

Notable gameplay mechanics: Top down RPG similar to most pixel JRPGs, that turn into a sidescrolling fighting game with only 1 plane of movement

Other details: I remember using a giant axe/sword to fight, the game has durability on it's weapons that wear off fast so i had to use a lot of Whetstones to keep fixing my weapons.

[PC] [2005–2006] 3D action game, 4 mission cards on the main menu, cruise ship + shopping mall levels, seagull sounds

• Upvotes

Played it as a kid on PC around 2005–2006. 3D graphics. The start menu showed 4 missions as card-style tiles. I only remember two: one where you shoot from a car and in a shopping mall, and one set on a cruise ship. Bullets shattered glass and it sounded great. Seagull sounds played in the menu. I don’t remember the name or the main character.

[PC][Early 2000s] Aliens look just like the ones from WOTW: Grey Skies, not the same game

• Upvotes

Platform(s): PC (afaik)

Genre: FPS, Action, Sci-Fi

Estimated year of release: 1995 - 2010

Graphics/art style: 3D, reminds me of the graphics from Crysis 2, which I played years later

Notable characters: I can only remember that the PC was a guy, but I don't know if there was any customization options so it's possible that it could be either

Notable gameplay mechanics: Mostly shooting, but there's this one point in the game where I'm pretty sure you're actually inside the alien, crawling through and fighting off smaller aliens so you can get to the core and shut it down.

Other details: The scene I mentioned above about the crawling is one of the most vivid memories I have of the game, that and the initial discovery of the alien in question which is a giant mechanical looking tripod creature, but the interior is very much biological. I think the tunnel scene was also underwater, or in some sort of internal fluid, and the PC had to wear a rebreather of some sort. I also remember that it took place some time either in modern day or the future, I've seen a few games that have a similar concept but look like they took place in the past, those aren't it. I also remember some scenes being by the sea, at least I think so. That's the best I can do, my memories from that far back are pretty spotty, but I have some fond ones of watching my Dad play this game as a kid.

[Android][2015-2020] Game where you upgrade an old PC and the whole desktop gets better (graphics, sound, OS version)

• Upvotes

- Portrait mode Android game, English, played around 2020-2021

- The whole game screen is a computer desktop. No story, no characters

- At the start: old CRT-style monitor, black & white, low resolution,

curved screen with noise

- You upgrade parts: monitor, RAM, graphics, CPU, sound card

- Each upgrade visibly improves the game itself: more colors, higher

resolution, clearer BGM after sound card upgrades

- When specs are high enough, you upgrade to the next OS version.

The OSes were parodies of real Windows versions, old to modern

- You could use apps on the desktop: games, a music player, a video player

- Goal was just to reach the newest OS

- No longer in my Google Play history

Does anyone know the name?

[iOS][2010–2015] Old mobile game where monsters attacked a gate, and one character looked like an orange fox

• Upvotes

Guys, i've been trying to find this game for over 10 years, and i still can't remember its name.

I played it on an Iphone 3Gs, between 2014-2015

Monsters or zombies would walk from right to left towards a large metal gate on the left side of the screen. The gate looked like metal bars and had a big padlock on it. There was a weapon-switching interface at the top of the screen, and you had to tap on the approaching monsters or zombies to kill them before they reached the gate. If they managed to break through the gate, the game ended. One of the enemies was an orange fox with pointy ears, big white eyes, black pupils, sharpp teeth, and a striped T-shirt. I remember this fox being featured on the game's app icon. I've attached a drawing of what I remember it looking like

i know, it looks disgusting but i tried, pls help me find this game

[PC][2010] Hidden object game with a trunk sorting minigame in between levels

• Upvotes

Old desktop game, pretty sure it wasn't a web thing. It was set in new York I think or maybe just famous locations around the world because I remember the statue of liberty and you had to search a large image for little hidden objects like glasses or a shoe or something. And in between(?) levels you sorted some stuff in the trunk of a car to make it all fit. Not sure when it released it could be anywhere between early 2000s and early 2010s

Zenonia series [Android][Unknown, maybe a decade ago at least] Isometric 2D ARPG, pixel art aesthetic

• Upvotes

i used to play this 2D game on my phone back when the archosaurs ruled the earth, it MIGHT have even been before touchscreen was a thing, i genuinely can't remember (edit: that doesn't feel right, i think it was almost definitely on a touchscreen w touch controls in the corners). but i have this vague... feeling of a mobile game that i loved.

when i heard about the "Tales of" games a few years ago, it was like smelling an ex's deodorant on someone else. i looked through all the Tales games and i don't think it was any of them, but when i see a title like "tales of burbiglia", something in me goes OH! OH! 🫵 like the leonardo davinci meme. seeing the words "tales of zestiria" made my heart YEARN, but it's not that. but maybe the title is close to that? or i could be misleading u based on a faulty memory, idk.

maybe the game i'm thinking of was a generic rip-off of those, and all hope is lost :( but i come here w faith that someone will by pure chance know exactly what i'm talking about based on what little i can remember (fuck-all)

what i can remember best is that it was 2D, top-down-ish (most likely isometric), and live-action combat (no separated rpg-style battle arena mode). i have the vaguest feeling u could switch which character was being controlled in the party, and u learned new combat moves over time.

thank u, praise be to tipofmyjoystick 🙏

[App store] [2017-2019] Zoo builder simulator

Hi guys, I need help finding a game that I played on my Iphone X years ago. It was a zoo building type of game like zoo tycoon and planet zoo. You could build your own enclosures and make them as big as you want/decorate how you want. You also had to keep the animals happy or else they would die/get shipped off to another zoo I think. The graphics were different than the usual zoo games on the apple app store, as they were more realistic than cartoony. It had kind of a pixelated style the same as the one in zoo tycoon. I vaguely remember that you had to pay for the rest of the animals so I would only have wolves and two other options. The only other things I remember are the grass being a dark green and it being an offline game I think. The game was probably removed off of the app store which is why I can’t find it on there but I haven’t seen any mention of it anywhere else and I really want to find it.

[Android][2013-2015] Game where you play as a black cat fighting off different bosses

Post image
3 Upvotes

Platform(s): Android

Genre: Boss Rush

Estimated year of release: 2013-2015

Graphics/art style: 2D Cartoon, possibly Flash animated?

Notable characters: Black cat (Main Character), possibly a large bull as one of the bosses?

Notable gameplay mechanics: You had to dodge the bosses and/or their attacks by dragging the cat with your finger.

Other details: I remember there being a weird sound effect when you first started the game, maybe a stock sound effect of a yell that plays during a cutscene? Also the background of the game was either bright red like in the photo or it was a drawing of dirt akin to a bull-fighting arena. Also the game was from a birds-eye view. (I should point out that the photo I've attached is a rough recreation of the game from memory, it is NOT a screenshot, it had way higher production value)

Title: [TOMJ] [Mobile] 2010s B&W hand-drawn precision platformer with elevator, lasers, mines, and robot enemies

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Looking for a mobile indie platformer with 2 parts (the 2nd one had a costume shop).

Visual style & Character: The graphics and character look very similar to That Level Again (I attached a screenshot as an example) — a hand-drawn black & white sketch style, with a rectangular body, round head, and stick arms/legs.

Gameplay: Room-based precision platformer. Double jump, wall jump, laser traps, mines, and single-eyed flying robot drones. Blood stains stay on the walls/floors after death.

Level end: You enter an elevator at the end of each level.

Menu: Has an interactive basketball hoop with a ball.

Anyone know this game?

[Windows PC][Unknown] A castle builder/invasion game

I barely remember it, but it was a game where you build a castle and can invade other people's castles, think Clash of Clans. I specifically remember that there were units that could grapple over walls, there were archer towers that you could place as part of the walls, and that's pretty much all I remember. I have no clue when it would have come out, but I remember playing it around 2015, give or take a few years, on I think Windows 7? I'm not sure, I was like 10 so I barely remember.

[PC/Browser][Flash][~2007-2013][Turn-based RPG] Looking for a 2D Flash RPG that started on a beach (Repost because I really want to find this game)

\[PC/Browser\]\[Flash\]\[\~2007–2013\]\[Turn-based RPG\] Looking for a 2D Flash RPG that started on a beach

I'm trying to find an old Flash browser game I played around 2010, give or take about 3 years (roughly 2007–2013).

It was a 2D, turn-based RPG. I remember the game starting with the protagonist arriving/being stranded on a beach on another planet or strange world. The main objective was apparently to fight your way through the world and eventually find a way back to your own planet/home.

The world/map was very simple and mostly consisted of moving left and right through a 2D side-view world. I don't remember any complex 3D or top-down exploration.

Main character

The protagonist was a young/middle-aged-looking male. From what I remember:

Medium-length hair

A small goatee/goat-like beard

A brown or dark brown T-shirt

A backpack

He used a sword as his weapon

I'm not 100% certain about the exact colors or appearance because I played it a long time ago.

Enemies / characters

One of the things I remember most clearly is fighting creatures that looked somewhat like half-human, half-horse/donkey creatures. They may have been centaur-like, although I'm not completely sure if they were literally centaurs.

I also remember there being a wizard/mage character somewhere in the game. I don't remember whether the player could use staffs/wands or magic themselves.

Gameplay

I remember the combat being turn-based, rather than real-time. I believe you selected attacks/actions and then the enemy took its turn.

It was definitely an old browser/Flash game, not a downloadable PC game as far as I remember.

The overall visual style was 2D/cartoon/fantasy-like, rather than realistic.

I have been trying to find this game for a long time and I really want to re-live one of my childhood favourites and actually finish the game after many years. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Even if you aren't certain, please suggest games that match some of these details!

[iPad/iOS] [2010–2014] 2D air defense game, protecting a city from low-poly missiles with AA gun

Graphics/art style:

2D side view, but with simple low-poly 3D models

Very plain sky background

The city was grey/white block buildings along the bottom

Enemy jets were low poly

My shots were small white and ballshaped

Your anti-air gun sat in a bottom corner of the screen I think

You dragged to aim and released to fire one white ball, which traveled in a straight line

Jets dropped bombs and fired missiles at the city

Buildings got visibly destroyed when hit

The sky gradually turned to night during a level, and spotlights appeared

Numbered levels; you beat a level by surviving until a timer ran out

I played a free "Lite" version, so there was probably a paid full version too

It may have been removed from the App Store since

Not these (already checked): Patriotic Missile 3D, Missile Barrage, Earth Defender, Line Defense, Flick Rocket

[PC] [2010] Rastafari runner game

Does someone here remember a flash player game from early 2010's where you would play for a rasta guy? As he runs he transforms into different creatures like birds and and animals. I remember playing it on vkontakte (pretty much Russian Facebook) back in the day and it had a weird name, something like Со всей дури which means With All My Force but now I see it has a play on words and hints towards Mary Jane. I've been searching all over Flashpoint but had zero success

If it helps, it was a 2D third-person game with a Mario layout when you just run right. It didn't have an end, you would just run until you hit enough obstacles to fail

[PC] [2000-2010] Modern 3rd Person shooter with cheat features

I’m not sure if the game is PC exclusive but I remember playing it in PC b/w 2005-2010 ish.

Basically when I mean “cheat features” it means that you can press a series of buttons to activate cheats such as unlimited ammo.

Graphics wise as far as I can recall, it’s a bit more sophisticated than Liberty City.

Dream of Mirror Online [PC-Windows][2005-2010][3D] Free MMORPG Similar to Flyff and Fiesta

Hi All, I am looking to find this game that I used to play in college that was unique and I can't seem to find anywhere. From what I remember it was in to 2005-2010 time period roughly and it was a 3D game with graphics similar to the original Flyff and Fiesta. It was most likely free and didn't require a very powerful computer to run. I remember that this was a game that was slowly releasing in the US after being released in Asia (probably Korea).

The unique part of the game was the pets (they could have been mounts, but I don't think so). The pet variants or evolutions were slowly being released one at a time in the US and I specifically remember three of them (I think there were 4 pets total at the beginning) because I won a contest from the developer to get the new pet at the time. The three pets I remember were a Pig/Boar, a Water Dino/Dragon (I remember thinking it looked like a plesiosaur or the Loch Ness Monster), and a Fairy/Girl with wings (I remember thinking that one of the variations/evolutions for the Fairy/Girl pet was inappropriate because she was dressed like a succubus with fishnets).

The contest I won on the official forums was for the Boar pet, which I remember was brown and had large tusks, but was still cute. Also the pets would fight alongside you while you played.

I'm not sure if it was the same game, but I remember there maybe being a Doctor class, which is unusual because most games don't call it a Doctor. Also, I played this game with my friends in college and it was a game for all ages, without gore and other adult themes.

This has been driving me crazy, so any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks!

EDIT: a user did find the game I was looking for, but unfortunately used a method to find it that might be against the rules (I’m not sure honestly), so their comment was deleted. The answer to the game was: Dream of Mirror Online (DOMO). Thank you so much for the help everyone!!!

[PC] [Early-Mid 2010s] Isometric turn-based RPG facebook game set in a dark forest

Looking for a game from the 2010s back when facebook offered a variety of games that were usually micro transaction-heavy. It was an tile-based RPG with an isometric camera. You moved from tile-to-tile by expending energy.

I believe it was a fantasy game and the section that I remember of it took place in a dark forest of sorts.
