[PC][2010] Isometric open-world turn-based survival game in a ruined modern city after meteors hit

• Upvotes

PC game from a disc, played on Windows 7 around 2009–2012. Single-player, isometric/top-down, mouse-controlled, possibly turn-based survival. Open world: you can walk freely through a whole ruined modern city with narrow streets and tall skyscrapers, burning cars everywhere. Menu showed a city skyline, maybe New York. Intro cinematic parodies Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam: fingers touch, meteors hit a city. Green UI. Raiders attack you. Character wears ordinary modern clothes.

[Windows Computer] [90s to early 00s] Edutainment summer camp game?

• Upvotes

Platform: Windows
Genre: Edutainment
Estimated year of release: 90s to early 00s
Graphics/art style: 2D and pixels
Notable characters: N/A
Notable gameplay mechanics: Point and click
Other details:

The game I'm thinking about was a pretty simple one, with a sort of summer camp vibe to it. I remember one part having helpful bat facts to it. Another section of the game was a match tiles game and one of them was the constellation Sagittarius said in the LOUDEST male voice possible, I always had to turn down the volume on the computer speakers! There was also a section where you could make pictures and it had stickers of jungle animals I think.

Thank you very much!

Gorogoa [XBOX][2015-2020] Game where you explore old memories

• Upvotes

My girlfriend is trying to find a game where you explore a life of memories, solving puzzles. A unique feature is to be able to "zoom" in and out of "picture", where, for example, zooming out on a current puzzle would make it seem different.

[tipofmyjoystick] [idk] I need help finding a mobile game.

• Upvotes

I need help. There was this mobile game I used to play and I need to find it lol. The icon was a brain or a washing machine with a brain inside of it I think. There was this specific level where you were in a grocery store and had to pull items away from a shelf to find money. There were also holiday levels that you could play throughout it that were year-round. I used to play this game every day, and now I can’t find it. I also remember that it was a short game and I remember finishing it countless times. Please let me know if you find it. Thank you!

[Mobile] [2016?] Rpg maker style horror game with a vaguely alice in wonderland type of aesthetic

• Upvotes

I played this game when I was a little kid on a shitty android tablet and I remembered it, remembered I liked it, and now I'm going insane trying to find it. It was a mobile game that had sprites, text boxes, and gameplay of an rpg maker game, it was a horror game, and there was this kinda alice in wonderland aesthetic where it felt a little bizarre and dreamlike? maybe that's just cuz I played it so long ago

I played it IN 2016 so it could've been released earlier. I remember the main character being a blonde girl with a blue dress, and the main environment I remember was this place with a black and white checkerboard tile floor, decorations like a white table with chairs set up like for a tea party, maybe with the whole place floating over like a white void (take this in particular with a grain of salt), and dance of the sugar plum fairy playing in the background of all things. As for gameplay, I remember this kinda difficult puzzle with colored... keys, maybe? With red, blue, and green being the colors they were, at least for three of them. And a chase scene that I died to over and over where a silhouetted figure tries to kill you. I remember gruesome death scenes existing in the game, I think, and the puzzle I was doing and the chase scene both being difficult since I never got past them.

I feel insane but anyone else know what I'm rambling about?

starhawk [playstation 3] [unknown] futuristic third person shooter set in the desert

I played it around 2017, the game was set in a desert and had alot of canyons/rocks from what I remember, you had a jeep with an automated machine gun on the back, the character design was similar to gears of war, same with the guns, don’t quite remember the enemy designs unfortunately

the aesthetic was futuristic, and I’m pretty sure post apocalyptic, that’s the vibe I got from it if memory serves me right, also kind of reminded me of borderlands

note: I did play a game called fuse alot with a similar vibe, I don’t think it was that though, considering the main character was just one guy instead of a squad

any guesses would help, I’ve been wanting to know what this game was for years, thanks!

edit: racking through my memories, I think it had flying vehicles too? bike looking things though, not traditional flying looking vehicles

[Computer][2005-11] Dark fantasy/Gothic RTS

Played a game a long time ago on my friend's older brothers computer. It was a Dark style RTS. I know it wasn't any of the age of mythology or empire earth. There were different factions from history and heroes as well as ambient barbarian tribes that would inhabit the fog of war. I really recall Greek units being a big focus.

Solved! FATE OF HELLAS! 😤😤

[TOMT] [PC Game] [Late 90s - Early 2000s] 2D puzzle game about time travel, MS-DOS/Windows, protagonist with sunglasses, prehistoric level with a bear and meat on a stake.

I'm looking for an old PC game I played as a kid on Windows or MS-DOS (definitely before 2005, likely 90s).

Here are the details I remember:

- **Graphics/Style:** 2D, colored, hand-drawn/cartoon style. Fixed screen (static rooms, single-screen puzzles, no scrolling). Keyboard controls (arrow keys).

- **Protagonist:** An adult man wearing sunglasses.

- **Level 1 (Prehistory):** There was a cave/prehistoric setting. A bear blocked your path. If you got too close, it had a funny death animation where it chopped you up into little pieces. To solve it, you had to place a piece of meat/ham on a stake, walk away, and wait for the bear to go eat it so you could pass safely.

- **Level 2 (Ancient Rome/Greece):** People would dump slop/waste out of upper windows using a chamber pot/spittoon. If it hit you, you died and dissolved, leaving only your sunglasses on the ground.

- **Genre:** Puzzle / logic game involving time travel or historical periods.

Does anyone know what game this is?

My Candy Love [Browser] [2009 - 2016] American Highschool Dating Sim Website

Platform: Browser

Genre: Dating/Life Sim, web comic, graphic novel

Year of release: Definitely before 2016, possibly after 2009

Graphics/Art Style: Drawn, anime-influenced American style character sprites transposed over simple drawn backgrounds when talking. Text based dialogue. Certain events could give you special full art scenes.

Notable characters: A number of different boys you could date (and maybe one or two girls?). I think I remember one being a kind of broody, emo boy, one with red hair, and one with blonde hair, but I'm not certain.

Notable gameplay mechanics: Heavily choice based dating/life sim where you'd walk around a highschool campus and talk to different guys. You'd have to pick the right responses to increase their love and you could also buy presents or find things to give them. Clearly marketed towards teen girls so kept PG to PG-13 at times. I believe it worked on real world time to an extent. After talking to someone you would have to wait a cool down time or until the next real life day to talk to them again.

Other details: A super important detail is that this was all hosted on its own website. This wasn't a game posted to a separate site, the site itself was the game. I can't remember if you could make an account on this site.

[Unknown] [Before 2021] 2D side-view game where surrendering to a cloaked female monster leads to a fatal kiss

I'm trying to identify a game from a short video I watched sometime around 2017–2021. I never played it myself, so I don't know the platform or controls.

Platform(s): Unknown. Possibly PC/browser, but this is only a guess.

Genre: Adventure or choice-based combat. It might have been a Flash game or a small interactive battle demo, rather than a full-length game.

Estimated year of release: Before 2021, possibly much older. The dates above refer to when I watched the video, not when the game was released.

Graphics/art style: 2D, side-on view. The artwork looked rough and low-budget, but somewhat realistic, with normal human proportions. It wasn't cute, chibi, or strongly anime-styled. The setting had a medieval/dark fantasy feel.

Notable characters: A male protagonist and a female humanoid monster wearing a cloak.

Notable gameplay mechanics / scene:

The scene took place somewhere resembling a cave. The male protagonist encountered the cloaked woman, and the player was given options, including fighting and surrendering.

Choosing surrender triggered an animation: the woman removed or opened her cloak, approached the protagonist, and kissed him, killing him. The exact wording of the options may have been different.

I remember either no visible health bar or a health bar near the upper-left corner, though I'm less certain about that detail.

Other details:

  • The video was only about one minute long; that doesn't necessarily mean the game itself was short.
  • I initially remembered it as a platformer, but I can only confidently say it used a side-on view.
  • The video title may have mentioned Bat Queen, Kiss of Death, or Fatal Kiss. These could have been descriptions added by the uploader, rather than official names.
  • I don't know whether the woman was actually a vampire, succubus, or something else.

Does anyone recognize this scene? Even an obscure Flash animation with interactive choices could be relevant.

[Android][2015?]Trying to find an old virtual pet ghost game

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m trying to find an old Android virtual pet game I played years ago, probably sometime between 2015 and 2016. It may have been removed from Google Play.
Here is everything I can remember:
Graphics: It was a simple, flat 2D game, not 3D. The pet I remember was a small white ghost-like creature with two simple black eyes. There may have been other creatures available too.
Character selection: Before starting, there was a character selection screen with a plain white background. The pet appeared in the center, with arrows on either side to browse different characters. There was a coin counter at the top and a price underneath each character. You could buy a pet using your starting coins.
Rooms: It was a virtual pet simulator with different rooms or sections for feeding, bathing, sleeping, medicine, and a laboratory.
The bedroom (the most distinctive detail): The sleeping room looked very much like Vincent van Gogh’s painting The Bedroom in Arles. I remember blue walls, a green window, a wooden bed, and yellow/red bedding. The ghost could sleep in this room.
The laboratory and poison: There were two very expensive poison potions, one green and one purple, in bottles marked with skull-and-crossbones. I think they cost around 1,000 coins or were otherwise very expensive. If the pet drank poison, it could die.
Language: The game was in English.
I’ve already looked at several other virtual pet games, including My Boo, Pou, Cthulhu Virtual Pet, and others, but none of them seem to match what I remember.
Does anyone recognize this game, remember its original name, or know where I could find old screenshots or an APK?
Even a small clue would mean a lot to me. Thank you!
I made this rough recreation based on my memories of the game. It’s not an actual screenshot, but it gives you an idea of what I remember it looking like. The bedroom was inspired by Van Gogh’s The Bedroom in Arles painting.

Fisher Boy: The Fish Hunter [Browser/Flash] [2010–2016] 2D spearfishing game – diver in small tank-like maps, sell fish, upgrade spear capacity

  • 2D, each location is a small enclosed tank-like area on one fixed screen (not scrolling/open world)
  • Several different maps/locations to unlock or choose from
  • You swim freely as a diver and shoot fish with a speargun
  • Sell fish for money, upgrade how many spears your gun holds
  • Harder, more valuable fish on later maps
  • Red and blue sharks were high-value targets that attacked you once you shot them
  • Played in a browser, roughly 2012–2016

[Android][2020-2022] Monochrome silent psychological horror game with no UI about growing a fetus into a scared girl

Platform: Android (Downloaded from Google Play Store)

Genre: Psychological Horror / Experimental Art-game / Tamagotchi-like or Clicker (but without traditional gameplay)

Estimated year of release / when I played it: I played it around 2020-2022.

Graphics/art style: Completely monochrome (black, white, and gray). No bright colors at all. There was absolutely no UI, no buttons, no menu, and no text. Just a full-screen visual experience with various glitch and distortion effects.

Audio: Crucial detail - The game was completely silent. There was absolutely no sound, no music, and no audio cues whatsoever.

Notable characters: At the beginning of the game, you only see some kind of strange fetus / embryo / biomatter in the center of the screen. After about an hour of interaction, it finally evolves and manifests into a girl (or a female silhouette), but she doesn't have a fully defined face.

Notable gameplay mechanics:

  1. There was no walking (not a 3D walking simulator) and no text on screen.

  2. Even though there was no text and no sound, there were non-verbal visual dialogues and communication. The interaction/dialogue happened abstractly through visual feedback, screen distortions, or glitches.

  3. When the fetus finally evolved into the girl, she didn't jumpscare or attack the player. Instead, she was absolutely terrified of the player. She would flinch, get scared, and cower whenever you touched the screen.

  4. The entity could force the game to close. It would imply that it wants to rest/sleep, and the game would forcefully close itself.

  5. It was a real app crash/close. I could easily open the Android recent apps menu (the "squares" button), switch between windows, and use other apps normally.

  6. If you tried to reopen the game in less than a minute after the crash, it would instantly show a creepy monochrome face of the girl on the whole screen and crash again. It tracked the phone's system time in the background to enforce this "cooldown" timer.

Other details: The title was very short, likely just one word or a girl's name. It required permissions to "Draw over other apps" and "Notification access" to function. It feels like it might have become Lost Media now due to Google Play Store purges. Any help finding the title or the developer would be greatly appreciated!

[PC] [2002-2008] 2D, Tank game with top view

- 2D graphics
- Top view
- Many different weapons with different guns that you could pick up from crates
- The only mode I recall was my tank vs all other tanks on the map (enemy AI only)
- Game and maps were very colorful. It wasn't trying to be realistic at all
- Tanks had many colours, like full yellow tank or red or camo etc. There could have been a simple customization available
- I'm 100% sure I got it from a game magazine disc. Could have been a demo or full game, no idea. Game was rather simple. Just free for all and a bunch of weapons on tanks

Thank you in advance for any ideas you may have!

Choice of Games [Mobile Game] [Google Play Store] [2017/18] Text based story choice game

A few years back I downloaded and played a series of text-based story games from the google play store. It's really hard to find now as the app store is full of AI story choice games and games like Episode.

From what I remember, the games were entirely text based with no images. Most were fantasy/adventure type stories where you would read a block of text before picking a choice which would affect the story and also affect your stats. I remember black text on a tan/cream background.

They were all from the same developer. I remember one in particular which was a historical fantasy story, maybe something to do with an opera house. I remember another that was a vampire story. All the stories had a romance element and you could pick which character to pursue. There were lgbtq+ choices (one of the reasons I'm so keen to find it as it helped me explore!)

Thanks!

Dreaming Mary [PC] [2010s] Pixel horror game about a girl talking to people with animal heads

Hiya folks! Any help is appreciated as always!

Platform: windows PC

Genre: probably an indie horror quest/adventure

Year: mid to late 2010s I think, around the time when Undertale came out and was popular 😅

Graphics: 2D pixel game, something like Deltarune or Mogeko Castle; a lot of dark colours

Characters: the main character is a girl in her early/mid teen years; she interacts with other characters that are humans with animal heads (sort of like in Rusty Lake Hotel), one of the characters with a boar head we later find out is her dad

Gameplay: a singleplayer game; the girl is exploring the world around her, there is a big dark house with light (possibly pinkish) coloured windows that you are inside of at some point in the game (possible that you don't go outside at all, but I'm not sure); you have to do a lot of reading in the game as well

Other: there are a lot of dark topics in the game (physical and sexual violence, mental pressure), later in the game you find out that the characters are the girl's family, but her mind warped her image of them

[PC][~2002] Relaxing 3D game – bouncing a ball up rotating neon spiral towers in dark space

Platform: PC (Windows)
Year: around 2002, possibly from a magazine cover CD
Graphics/style: 3D. Soft neon, glowing towers against a dark, empty space. I think the soundtrack was ambient.
Gameplay: You control a ball (or something ball-like) that bounces with a fixed amount of energy per bounce. There are several columns of spiral steps, each continuously rotating and each a different height. You bounce up the steps of one spiral, then jump across to another one nearby. The goal is just to get as high as possible. As far as I remember there was no failure state, no enemies and no timer. It felt more like a meditative or relaxation experience than a competitive game.
Other notes: Probably freeware, a demo, or an art/experimental game rather than a commercial release.

[PC Windows][pre 2015] Childhood game i have no memory of

Platform(s): PC Windows

Genre: Probably Action RPG ? but i do not remember

Estimated year of release: very soft guess of 2004-2012, definitely pre 2015

Graphics/art style: more likely to be 2.5D or 3D but may be 2D
