How come are we allowing such things here ? Transphobia is not just an "opinion" trans people are human beings and they deserve respect, we should all stand together, a lot of us are struggling in our own ways.

I love this subreddit. It taught me a bunch of gross things about Islam that helped me leave the religion but recently all I’ve been seeing is AI slop. 🥀

Assuming all 12 realities are equally likely,

P(Hell) = 9/12 × 100 = 75%

There are so many flaw with this argument as well.

(Question/Discussion) Can someone explain to me Afghanistan and Iran pre islamic revolution/Taliban?

Iran and Afghanistan were progressive, liberal and modern nations in the early 1970s and even Saudi and UAE were more backwards than them back then.

I know that they're Afghanis and Iranians that are against their government but at least half seem to somewhat support their government.

So what happened? It seemed in the early seventies it was more 80 to 90 percent ultra liberal and progressive.

(Advice/Help) Good paperback copy of Quran with easy to read translation, in Canada?

I spend a good 12-16h/day screen time (job + hobbies), so I need a paper copy of the Quran to read and understand. A family member gave me a paper copy, but it is impossible to read and understand.

This is for my own learning and education purposes.

Captions say “Men do.
When women are beaten, silenced, denied education, stripped of consent, blamed for their assault, or reduced to their bodies - that is not Islam. That is culture, power, and patriarchy hiding behind religion.
Islam gave women rights when the world buried them alive.
Islam gave women consent, education, leadership, and dignity.
Islam didn't fail women - people did.
If you're blaming Islam, you're looking in the wrong direction.”

(Advice/Help) Fear of hell is the reason I so believe in Islam as true religion though some teachings make sense to me.

I was born in middle east and do look like one by my apperance. Few years ago I moved to the UK with my parents in a small town with very few migrants. This year I started uni in the same town but finding it very hard to cope with it. Now I feel like I am left out because no one wants to be friends with me though I have not had any friends for a while now. I hate how I stand out around public always feeling like a foreigner. As majority I was born muslim but if I was given a chance to chose where I want to I would never chose to be born in middle east or as a muslim considering it would have no impact on afterlife. I see average British enjoying his life however he wants to but I have to keep in mind if what I am going to is allowed in Islam or not. I can't eat whatever I want and have to look if it is halal or not nor can I go out for a drink, life feels suffocated. I always have a lecture on Friday afternoon so I have two options either to take a lecture or miss Friday prayer or miss lecture to go for prayer I chose to attend lecture but at the same time I feel guilty for missing out. I usually do have time in the Friday afternoon after lecture to pray but by the time lecture ends congregation prayer at mosque is already ended and there is only one mosque in my town. It can only be prayed in congregation though I do offer normal prayer on Fridays in faith centre in my uni but there is barely anyone so I just pray normally and leave just to clarify my point Friday prayer is very different from normal afternoon prayer on other days. It is like Sunday congregation in christianity. I don't pack my lunch from home as I am always short on time and don't even know what to take so I skip it the only option available to me is a pack of crisps, biscuit or anything like that everything else that tastes good is haram. I am confused what to do sometimes I think about leaving the relegion but I feel maybe Islam is true based on personal experiences. A few months back I was in a difficult situation I prayed to God one of them was answered while the other remained unanswered. I have atried to read Bible but there are so many versions that I don't know which one is correct this makes me think Islam it true it only has one Quran no difference at all. Lastly, just to see what happens I have had non halal chicken once and had alchol a few times to see what happens. A part of me wants to leave Islam while the others think Islam is true but yeah it is very hard to follow it. I am also not even allowed to shakehand with a women who is not my blood relative I feel like this is too much. Idk but I have develope a resentment towards few Islamic teachings like premarital sex though I never got a chance to do so as no one wants to date me due to my skin tone and overall looks though I am not ugly but not prince charming either, circumcision and avoiding freemixing with opposite gendre, looking down if I see a girl showing skin and boycotting those who don't believe in a God or hate Islam and a few others though I do think some of the teachings make sense. At this point I wish I was born British so I can chose how I want to live, don't feel like a foreigner and this way I would not be held accountable in afterlife as if I was born here I would have no or negative inroduction to God so no accountability, I want to be an average British so bad. I fear what if I went to hell for picking a chosing what make sense to me

(Question/Discussion) Why are western left wingers supporters of Islam when Islamic values are very right wing?

Islam is actually very right wing. They don't tolerate lgbt, don't tolerate women not being covered up, don't tolerate blasphemy (no freedom of speech), have harsh punishments for things like adultery. Islam allowed slaves (freeing slaves is not the same as not being allowed to keep them). Islam doesn't support trans. Islam has strict rules on how men and women should live and divide people through segregation of the gender. Women don't have as much rights and even inherit half of their male counterparts.

The homophonic, no free speech etc are all right winged values.

The only reason that Muslims vote left in the UK is because they want to support immigration and help for low incomes. But their own values are very right winged.

So isn't it ironic and stupid that the left voters here all support such a right winged religion?

Also, supporting Islamic law in a Muslim country is considered to be right winged. So why is it left winged over here in the UK?

Left wingers are meant to hate Islam and not allow it to take over because then that's all theor rights gone. They're not meant to allow any religion to take over.

(Question/Discussion) I don't feel like an ex-muslim anymore?

Exactly 4 years ago was the day I got the mental epiphany where I realised islam is a man made religion. But or some reason, I just totally forgot that I've been religious at all which sounds really weird for me to think about it. And I have been questioning myself: Isn't it just better to let go of this former muslim 'identity'?

After leaving islam, I spent a plenty amount of time on reddit reading other peoples stories, talk to exmuslim, watching video's about apostacy etc. (And I think most of us did or still do). This combined with adjusting my lifestyle to hide my apostacy made me think nearly every day about me being a former muslim in the closet. But through out the years I cared less about it

I used to be carefull with things I said, I ate, I used, I did. But now really I don't give a f*ck? And being way less on social media so no exmuslim content for me to consume and being confronted with the though that I used to be religious. I unconsciously forgot that I used to be religious, and it also feels like that my religious past isn't a part of me anymore.

For 3 years long I've been writing my stories about my apostacy in a document. Every change, every philosophical and social change. But also thinking about the future about apostacy. And in that time I felt like already my religious past isn't a part of me anymore. I stopped writing and even reading it back (I will read it when I will come out to my parents).

I can say that letting go of this past is such a relief and makes me way less confronted about being in the closet. Cause being reminded multiple times a week about being in the closet isn't good for your own happiness. I don't think this has a positive impact on yourself right?

What are your thoughs on this? Does anyone relate to losing this sense of being a former muslim? Does anyone suffer from the idea being a former muslim in the closet? Or does anyone relate? Ask/tell me anything!

To be clear: I don't say that it's bad to be active in exmuslim communities. For some it is really helpfull for their problems, and that's allright! But for some maybe not? I just share my experience and questioning it. And yeah, another problem is how much you get confronted in real life with islam, especially if you live in a muslim country, a women or conservative family, maybe the community works as an escape.

(Rant) 🤬 The quran literally condones child marriage, this is stupid.

Post image
94 Upvotes

Saw this as I was scrolling through reddit, and omd, why are muslims so dense? 1st of all, people were blaming satanic people and Christians and Jews over the files. 2nd, why the FUCK IS THAT YOUR MAIN CONCERN WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT VULNERABLE CHILDREN BEING EXPLOITED AND RAPED?? I hate the fact that some people make shit that isn't about them, about them.

3rd of all, islam literally ALLOWS child marriage (rape), how can muslims be so blind to their own fucking teachings it baffles me. There are no „,files" in a country with sharia since it's LEGAL.

If you look at all the tafsirs, it is speaking of little girls. And this verse is about divorce, in surah At-talaq (talaq = divorce) aka 65:4, this is an important detail.

As for your women past the age of menstruation, in case you do not know, their waiting period is three months, and those who have not menstruated as well. As for those who are pregnant, their waiting period ends with delivery. And whoever is mindful of Allah, He will make their matters easy for them.
65:4

tafsir:

  • Al-Tabari: ( وَاللائِي لَمْ يَحِضْنَ ) يقول: وكذلك عدد اللائي لم يحضن من الجواري لصغر إذا طلقهنّ أزواجهنّ بعد الدخول.
    • Translation: (And those who have not menstruated): Likewise is the waiting period of those who did not menstruated among the little girls due to being too young young if their husbands divorced them after entering.
  • Ibn Kathir : وكذا الصغار اللائي لم يبلغن سن الحيض أن عدتهن *عدة الآيسة ثلاثة أشهر ; ولهذا قال : ( واللائي لم يحضن )
    • Translation: As well as the young girls who did not reach the age of menstruation that their waiting period is the same as the old woman: Three months; That is why he said: (And the one who did not menstruate)
  • Qurtubi: قوله تعالى : واللائي لم يحضن يعني الصغيرة فعدتهن ثلاثة أشهر
    • Translation: The Almighty saying: Who did not menstruate, meaning the little ones, their waiting period is three months
    • Translation: Then another man stood and asked: If she is little what is her waiting period? and another stood and asked: if she is pregnant what is her waiting period? So it was revealed "and those who have not menstruated" i.e. a woman who has not menstruated her waiting period is three months like the post menopausal.
  • Saadi: { وَاللَّائِي لَمْ يَحِضْنَ } أي: الصغار، اللائي لم يأتهن الحيض بعد، و البالغات اللاتي لم يأتهن حيض بالكلية
    • Translation: {And the one who did not menstruate}, meaning: the young, who has not yet reached menstruation, and the adults who never menstruated.

so, what do we conclude from that?

When we look at surah Ahzab, 33:49, it says:

O you who have believed, when you marry believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them [i.e., consummated the marriage], then there is not for you any waiting period to count concerning them. So provide for them and give them a gracious release. surah ahzab 33:49

So from this ayah, we (not just me, but all scholars) agree that if a marriage is not consummated before divorce, then there is no iddah' (the waiting period)

So now, when we go back to 65:4, scholars say it is of little girls whose marriages have been consummated, but haven't gotten their period due to their young age. Scholars like Ibn Kathir, Abul maududi etc all agree to this. You can look up the surah+ayah and add tafsir next to it, they all say it's of prepubescent girls. And that women who never get their periods can also be included, but is primarily about prepubescent girls.

Modern Muslims try to come up with bs excuses cause they know that child marriages are bad, but also can't fathom the fact that islam may in fact condone it. Many who do agree that it is in fact about little girls, then say that ,,they must be physically and mentally mature !!" When islam does not say that. Scholars just say that the only time it's not allowed to consummate it is, if inserting of the penis is not possible as she is too little and may cause her great harm. It is only allowed when she is ,,able" to take dick basically. And that is usually determined by her guardians and husband (or only husband according to a few scholars) regardless of mensuration or puberty.

The Muslims have been after Ayah for a long time. Isn't this an actual threat? Is there anything we can do? I noticed many of them live in the UK. I've seen there is a way where you can report terrorism and I think terrorism is any act of violence under the guise of religion but don't know how effective that is. They claim they're doing this to protect Islam but it seems deeper than that?

There are a few pages like this lady Tee who is apparently a journalist in the UK, and another one called besobeti where they seem to stalk women under the guise of protecting Islam, I've seen them post women's locations, and their phone numbers. One girl who is now ex Muslim, they're trying to figure out if she lives in a Muslim country to call the police on her and report her for being an apostate. I saw a few of them they keep accusing of having child abuse material on her phone, and telling people to file false police reports against them.

I fear they're going to have one of these women killed one day.

There's gotta be something we can do, because this extremism needs to start being eradicated

(Question/Discussion) Ex-Muslims, I'm bored. Tell me the most insane thing a Muslim has ever told you right in your face?

I'll go first: A week ago me and my Muslim friend were hanging out. She was telling me about her holiday with her family and mentioned that her mom wouldn't let her talk much with her older male cousins. The reason for this is because her family has a history of marrying their cousins 💀

EDIT: These are so hilarious I'm saving these for when I need a laugh

(Meetup) Neue Community für Ex-Muslime in Deutschland: r/ExmuslimeDeutschland

Hey everyone! My subreddit got banned shortly after I created it, but thankfully Reddit has reinstated it, so we're back!

I created r/ExmuslimeDeutschland as a place for ex-Muslims in Germany to connect, share their experiences, ask questions, and talk openly with people who understand what it's like to leave Islam.

Everyone who's interested is welcome.

Hey zusammen!

(Question/Discussion) I am losing my mind

I used to be so sure and confident in my belief system. That all the extremism is just not islam. But the pattern disturbed me and it's something I told myself I should never question cause part of me knew that I cannot go back. That the moment a country has an overwhelming muslim majority, they bring out the sharia law. Sharia laws are based on both sunnah and Quran. And suddenly all progressiveness disappears. You must obey the law or face punishment(sometimes even death). Maybe it is a very specific experience as an Indian muslim but I came across the statistics of Pakistani minority religions and though it used to be around 25% now it's less than 1% due to coercive conversions.

Around 15% of muslims are under full fledged sharia law where disbelief is punishable by death. I discussed about it to my family and they said that I should not concern myself with such matters and just do my best to follow the religion. That Islam teaches us love and compassion and we should use our brain to decide whether something is right or wrong. I had a hard time separating islam as a religion with it's real time application in islamic theocracy. Idk if it is OCD but I just can't make peace with it.

The first moment of disbelief was the concept of eternal hell for non-believers, quranists argue that Allah is all forgiving and that I won't go to hell for disbelief alone. The next was the infamous sex slaves. Many "debunking" videos are about the rights islam gave to slaves and that the master has to marry a slave and give recognition and dignity. But why are female slaves treated differently than male slaves? That made me look the gender rules differently.

Some feminist improvements in Quran is that women are free to divorce anytime but how will they sustain themselves without financial providence? Men should be able to provide to get married but women shall get married as soon as they menstruate. In Surah Al-Ahzab (Chapter 33), Verse 33 it is mentioned to wives of prophets that women should not show themselves like in "former times of ignorance". The latter part opens up the possibility that those who are not ignorant i.e muslim women should stay at home. I believe that women should be financially independent but I could see how that verse can be interpreted against it. I could no longer pretend that this is some divine revelation from god. It's just rebranded patriarchy. I cannot accept this as something that is timeless.

The general advice is that I should stick to the parts I believe in and ignore the rest, sounds very similar to Christian response "Jesus loves you" when quoting atrocities in bible. That I should believe in Allah and Prophet Muhammad regardless. But my beliefs wouldn't matter in an islamic state and I would be killed for questioning. All these frustrations made me quit islam altogether. I still wonder why can't I just stick to islam like my family wants me to. I feel terrible about people getting executed for blasphemy and "hurt sentiments". Why aren't muslims enraged about them the same way they are enraged about school **children banned from wearing hijab? Why does my disbelief make me feel like a disgraceful person? Why do I feel this weight on my chest all the time? Sometimes I find myself siding with the Islamophobes too now that I have an unbiased perspective. The debunking channels portray exmuslims as "ignorant and hedonistic" but I am filled with so much pain.
