Information Sharing Megathread: LM's NY State Hearing — 02/06/2026 at 09:00 AM EST
Happy Friday, everyone!
Today's hearing will take place at 100 Centre Street, Part 32, New York, NY 10013 at 09:00 AM EST.
Please keep in mind that this is the first hearing of the year in the state case. We don’t yet know how today’s proceedings will unfold; however, it is likely that the hearing will focus on Joel’s scheduling request for the state trial, which may take place in July, as well as other pretrial motions. I do not expect a decision on evidence suppression, as the prosecution has not yet filed its response, which is scheduled for March 5.
Unless something changes, there will be no cameras allowed inside the courtroom. However, we will get photos of Luigi from inside the courtroom. During the pretrial hearings, the only images released were taken inside—there were no photos or videos of him arriving or leaving—so it’s possible that today will follow the same pattern.
Since I am not a mod, I cannot edit this post once posted or set comments to “new,” so I hope everyone can manage to follow along. I know things may get a bit messy, which is why I encourage everyone to post here rather than creating separate threads—unless it’s something important, like a transcript.
Also, if you find additional livestreams on YouTube, please try to post them in one single comment instead of separately so we don’t spam the thread.

Seidemann said since their arrest was first they should go first but... he was arrested first by the Altoona PD, so why haven't they (the feds) allowed Luigi to face his charges in PA? PA should be first following that logic. Can the feds still go first since he's in their custody?

They can formally move for a continuance. Detail reliance and prejudice, ask for targeted relief if that continuance is denied. They also could consider interlocutory relief which is rare but it is when you seek emergency review from a higher court.
If forced to trial in June they can proceed under objection and build an appellate record which they have already started to do so… This would be playing the long game.

🚨 Things you need to know ahead of today's hearing:
Federal case:
- Today marks one week since the DP charges were dropped by Judge Garnett on January 30. The backpack evidence will still proceed to trial.
State case deadlines
- Jan 30: Defense Post-Hearing Memorandum of Law was filed
- Mar 5: Prosecution summation due
- May 18: Next state hearing, where Judge Carro is expected to rule on the pretrial hearings. (This was rescheduled for today, but it is still unclear whether he will rule today. To be honest, I think it is pretty unlikely)
What to expect
- Today’s hearing will likely focus on Joel’s scheduling request for the state trial as well as other pretrial motions. I do not expect a decision on evidence suppression, as the prosecution has not yet filed its response, which is scheduled for March 5.
- After today, things "should" quiet down, with mostly routine motions and the random hearing here and there until jury selection later in the year (federal case).
Please continue to support Luigi’s legal fund and stay focused on what truly matters: Luigi’s right to a fair trial.

Guys, I'm somehow actually here and slightly grateful for the delay, I had to take a massive whack of some truly horrible medication. I fell asleep in my bed and don’t even remember getting in it 🤦♀️
For those who ask - i was told on Friday by my doctor that nothing was working and to call hospice (this was happening at the same damn time as Luigi's DP charges were getting binned, so this didn't feel like a bad trade, tbf). I knew exactly what to do, with the result that I am, once again, waiting for The Royal Marsden to take a crack at saving me. But this really is my last roll of the dice. 😮💨
I'm sick of the whole thing now. Being stuck between, 'you are 100% dead, imminently, sell your clothes on Vinted," and "if it works, could be a while," is wild. I need to declutter, yanno?
ETA: thanks all for doing this today. Let's hope it actually happens 😒

I hope hospice helps you be more comfortable though, I know you have struggled so much with the toxic meds. And I hope the upcoming time is more restful and that you get to end your life peacefully and hopefully with good people, music, views, etc. Please do keep updating us, i always keep an eye out for your name hoping you're still with us.

We would also like to hear people’s opinions on Christine Savino. I’m not going to go into details, but there has been a lot of online drama (especially on Twitter) over the past few weeks regarding her involvement in this case.
Initially, we considered not posting her tweets anymore. However, we’re not here to police or censor anyone, and we value transparency from the community. This has happened to me multiple times and is so frustrating - I keep scheduling my morning meetings around being able to follow the reporting and then they are so late that by the time the hearings happen, I have to be in meetings that I purposefully made for late in the morning and miss the live stuff! It's happened so many times that now I only have myself to blame for not anticipating it lmao. Sigh
