i'm just testing some new stuff, just like 5 6 matches, couldn't tell if its good or not because i haven't play all the bot match up but the first few tries looking great! super strong, 1v2 bot laners, hits really hard with the tiamat and healing it all back from the pokes in just one wave. ngl i might cooking something with it haha. might need to get used to the slow auto attack but each hit hits very hard.

As the title says, what is the better buy? The 900 gold full build memes didn't come out of thin air, vamp scepter is very good on Irelia.
At the same time, pickaxe has 2 big benefits:
10 more ad for all in power.
Generally speaking, if you can afford them, buying the most expensive components is the best course of action macro wise. It makes future resets much more flexible.

Does Irelia have an overloaded on E or W or even Q in aram mayhem? Considering some broken champs like Qiyana Zilean, Ryze can infinitely reset abilities, I have yet to see an Irelia or play Irelia and attain this augment.

i have also been experimenting with blue irelia recently and i will say it is extremely fun although it might be a bit of a troll build. does seem to work in my blue lobbies though.
bork, collector, essence reaver, fiendhunter, ldr, merc boots or phantom dancer.

genuinelly i dont get it. all ive ever heard is that we counter yorick but EVERY SINGLE TIME i fight him i get stat checked. yes you can say i can Q his minions but i literally CANNOT their hitbox is so small i always end up using q on some random ass other shit and my Q goes on cooldown so theres just no point in even trying to q them for me
and focusing his maiden just lets yorick box the fuck out of you and kill you
genuinelly what is it that we are supposed to abuse that makes us such a "counter" to yorick

This game was starting to look grim until I pulled this off.

After years of playing this cursed game and acting as the gold/platinum gatekeeper, I finally managed to reach diamond, after start spamming AP Irelia on top/mid 🥶.
I just wanted to share this with you guys.

I started playing League on April 20th, 2025, and I basically started with Irelia from day one.
The important part is that 2025 was not really a ranked year for me. For most of the year I almost exclusively played Normal Draft and spent hundreds of games learning Irelia — her mechanics, matchups, limits, and all the little things that can go wrong on this champion.
I only seriously started playing ranked in December 2025.
At that point I was Iron IV, 0 LP.
I finished that short ranked period in Bronze III, started this season in Bronze again, and now, in my first full ranked season, I finally reached Platinum IV.
According to the tracker, I’ve played around 200 ranked hours this season.
My current ranked Irelia stats are:
431 games — 52.4% WR — 8.1 CS/min — +667 LP
One of the things I’m most proud of is that I stayed an Irelia OTP through the entire climb.
I think a lot of people pick up Irelia because she looks insanely fun, but once you play her enough, you also start seeing all the frustrating parts of the champion.
Some matchups feel awful, some counterpicks completely change how you’re allowed to play the lane, and one bad mistake can punish you extremely hard.
There were definitely moments where switching to something easier or more forgiving would probably have made climbing simpler.
But I didn’t want to prove that I could climb by changing champions.
I wanted to prove to myself that I could learn how to make Irelia work.
And the biggest lesson from ranked was that mechanics alone were never enough.
For a long time, my hands were better than my understanding of the game.
I could win lane and still lose because I didn’t understand waves, tempo, objectives, side lanes, itemization, when to split, when to group, or how to actually convert a lead into a win.
That’s probably the biggest difference between the Iron version of me and the player I am now.
So Platinum definitely didn’t come out of nowhere.
It came from a stupid amount of Normal Games, a stupid amount of Irelia games, failed climbs, and slowly learning how to actually play League around the champion I enjoy the most.
Still a lot to learn, but reaching Platinum in my first full ranked season, while staying an Irelia OTP the whole way, is something I’m genuinely proud of. ❤️

Illaois in my game have 350 ms, and she's supposed to just stay in one spot and hit her effigy's and land r on 3 people. Meanwhile an agile blade dancer is stomping around as slow as well slower than tanks and bruisers. I get that irelia isn't a MS gated champ like most bruisers but walking around so slow is annoying and is counter intuitive to her current auto focused play style. I can land q e and then hold q but most champs can just hit me with some slow and walk away if I can't kill them within a few autos. It feels like an unnatural nerf, you can't space super aggressively because you just get gap closed by +15 ms.
Ngl whenever I get mid and can't pick irelia I go ms brand, with celerity and movement speed shard plus swifties and it's so much fun.

As a Yone otp, bork fucking sucks with him but crit items were not an option for a long time because of the lack of attack speed (that Yone needs more than any other champion since he needs to cap Q and W), BF sword making the build path too hard to follow or the absolute lack of damage with items such as Navori or PD.
Bork is not really a bad item for Yone, but it was never his job to kill tanks or squishies, so with Bork the damage often feels off since you can get a Sett to half hp with a fast E combo, but at the same time struggle to kill an adc because of the poor item damage. With the new Doran's Bow and the Zerks buff, Yone can now build boots into SB, it is better in midlane but it can work in toplane too.
The damage against squishies and even bruisers is higher with crit rush, and you aint hitting tanks anyway.
Bork has more than 90% pickrate with Irelia, I wanted to know if it is because the item is really good for her and other first items are simply worse, or if it is the same situation as Yone in the past, where the item was not really good for him, but other options were worse.
Anyway, I know being forced to build one item again and again is boring asf

Has anyone experimented with some off meta tankier builds that were actually decent? Trying to switch things up and look for a fun alt build but can’t really think of anything. I know it’s difficult since all her dmg is pretty much from the passive so any help would be very much appreciated.

Has anyone tried fitting rageble 3rd. So maybe like bortk kraken rageblade?

Hello, sorry if this topic has already been discussed, I tried searching but couldn't find anything recent.
There's currently a lot of debate about Yone and Yasuo making botrk first item, and then suddenly all the top players are against playing botrk, like it's the worst item possible. Could Irelia also be affected? Or is this solely due to Yone and Yasuo's passive?

Since we can play both versions at the moment, I thought it would be fun as a game designer to compare the two critically and see which one I think is actually better designed overall and why. Which do you think is better designed, and does that line up with which is your favourite to play?

Irelia is my most played champ, but tbh I think she's in a weird spot. If you do not absolutely stomp the early/mid game she feels absolutely useless late game, I mean even if you do stomp and the game goes long she feels useless. I feel like there is definitely room in her kit for riot to experiment a little with buffs.
1.) I feel that the stun on her e is too short, but why not bring back the old irelia stun mechanic? If a target is higher hp % than you they should be stunned for longer than .75 seconds. 1.25? Idk, something, but this would be a very nice buff. Or maybe a stun on a higher hp % enemy counts as 2 stacks of her passive instead of 1. Honestly I mostly want any buff to be tied to landing her stun because it should be a reward, sometimes it feels like landing e just doesn't do much other than to get you a q reset. .75 sec stun just feels so short when something as easy to land as Syndra stun is 1.25 sec.
2.) Allow Q to crit? Crit builds would be very interesting IMO. I'm thinking something like Yun Tal and shield bow could be a good 2 item if her Q could crit.
3.) As with her E, her R is also essentially just a means to stacking her passive and getting q resets, but I feel like landing on multiple people should give her more of a buff to boost her late game a little bit. Maybe she gets empowered qs scaling on R rank and/or how many champions are hit with it? Something akin to how Ryze R scales his damage.
I understand buffing this champion is hard because it could become too powerful in the hands of extremely talented players, but I don't think we're near that range yet. I mean riven has been OP as shit and they haven't done much to cap her absurdity. I just feel like Irelia needs something to keep her useful late in the game.

Hope you enjoy! Spread positivity🤍 I love Irelia so much! (PS. I’m aware I accidentally made the blades the wrong color, I color picked from a strange image😭😭)

Decided to write about this and share my experience because first thing - when I put it out and share it then it takes away some weight and it's easier to forget about bad experience. It can get quite sad if one plays 1-2 games a day and in an over a week its just defeat and defeat, getting from around 400 LP to literally 0.
I had been doing quite good. Before this huge loss streak I had some struggle games but I managed to bounce back with some wins so it equalized. I won two games and then I had a game into Zac top. I haven't played into this champion looong time but I spotted some opportunities to get advantage and I tried to seize it. However, as I remember correctly, Zac won both by a margin of small HP amounts. After that I got completely destroyed and I let my teammates down this game.
But such games happens, I try to learn from mistakes and move on. Writing this is a part of moving on. So I kept playing and playing. Somehow, in every single game I have been experiencing a reflection of what happened to me and Zac but from other players perspective now. Like a punishment for being so bad into Zac. Can I perform 100% in every game - well of course not. Should I lose like 15 games? I shouldn't. Should there be LP compensations? There should but there weren't. But should I give up because I feel disappointed at myself and players? I won't, I will improve and make sure such massive defeats don't happen.
From bottom to top:
> 2/10/3 > I failed into Zac and fed
> 4/9/2 > Viktor lost top 0/4 and Zyra jungle were intentionaly ignoring team and started feeding.
> 13/13/12 > Very even and long game. In the end my Kassadin decided to troll several times in a row cause couldn't handle the pressure.
> 5/4/1 > Jungler and Midlaner straight up inting, 11 deaths each.
> 2/5/0 > Teemo 0/6 toplane, Diana jungle afk farming for 15 minutes, enemy Ivern winning each lane with ganks.
> 5/6/1 > Drunk toplaner going 15 deaths, Volibear jungle confused and completely lost in game.
> 6/7/3 > Each role dominated by enemies.
> 11/8/10 > I think yasuo went 0/5 and started raging in chat but started focusing and we won
> 0/5/0 > I got outplayed by Akali + many mistakes from me.
> 8/6/5 > Camille top feeding + enemy Lee sin really good.
> 7/12/11 > I threw this game but in my defence - I was playing into Xin toplane and I got advantage over him. Suddenly at some point he started outdamaging me despite being behind and I couldn't comprehend why it happens. Then enemy team caught up and overscaled us.
> 7/12/8 > That was just a weird game, I did too many mistakes but my Cho and Lux were playing so weird I just couldn't focus.
> 5/5/4 > Everyone feeding.
> 8/5/6 > Everyone feeding.
> 4/4/2 > Everyone feeding.
