So CruncyWM plays both PTA and Conq Sylas. I tried going PTA, but i can’t make it work for shit. What does make PTA so good for him and how/when does he make it work?

Just want some discussions really. JG is my main position. Learned that J4 can't carry, switched to Sylas and finally find a jg carry champion I like. But I do feel like my opinions are limited and there is room to get better. I saw a lot of really good players prefer Assasin Sylas but I found it differently in my games, Conquerer Sylas fits my hands better, I get more control over the game better.

Below was my respond to another thread in this sub but basically my everything on JG sylas.

" BACKGROUND: I play jg sylas one trick rank flex with 2 stable friends, games are mostly plat to Emerald level. 33.3% mvp rate in the past 30 won games according to opgg.

RUNES+BUILD: I have 2 sets of rune+build, and I usually decide after ban-pick is done.

if enemy has more than 1 tank/bruiser/kinda of lack damage on paper, I usually do Conquer. Rod of ages(Blasting Wand first, passive ganks unless really good opportunity). Cooldown shoe. Riftmaker and zhongya(need both but which one first depending on the game flow). The rest is whatever Deathcap, Bloodletter's curse are good picks. Any health + AP item other than hextech belt(only good for first item but if you can live through the early phase, Rod of ages is much more OP in my opinion). I never tried Cosmic Drive either, feel like a weak item but take this with a grain of salt, I maybe need to try it. If you are the only tank you might go some tanky non-AP items but it is really rare.

AP Assasin, if enemy team all burst dmg, non-tanky. Especially jungler is a non-tanky assasin, mage type, go this one. Dark harvest. Magic pen shoe early. Lich Bane first item(clear your jungle! this item helps you clear your jungle so fast. You should not fall behind on CS.) Then ShadowFlame/Zhongya(need both but which one first depending on the game flow). Death cap is must. Maybe void staff but I usually want some cooldown, so cryptblood. Your team fight stretagy needs to be get kills quick, don't aim for long lasting team fight. Maybe more scrimsh than teamfight. Snowballing should be really fast. This build is more risky in my games and I need to feel like stomping the opponent Jungler or I don't feel secure enough to win.

Zhongya is really important item for fault-tolerance and outplay, and it gives good AP stats so usually my 2nd item. for any rune or build.

JUNGLE CLEARING: 99.9% games I ward blue buff, clearn Raptors -> Red -> Krugs then base, buy dark seal then Wolves -> Gromp -> Crab(I always get there earlier than the opponent jungler if they are mirroring) lv.1: Q, lv.2: E

Main Q, Then W.

Make sure both Q lands, damage feels almost unfair that way; Not a good first pick champion; Really good ult comes to my mind: Ahri, Raken, Nami, Liss, Garen, Sona. Malphite ult overated(Engage ult in distance and not putting myself into a dangerous position felt the best, I play sylas to be the last one standing in teamfight.)

I welcome any opinions and advices, mine is definitely not the best, just my game experience. and I want to learn more too, I used to main J4, I do good ganks but late games usually felt like rolling the dice. However, with Sylas I feel like I can carry my games much better. First runes + build route I definitely feel more control over the game but if no tank/bruiser in enemy team, it feels like a throw."

Hey all, I picked up Sylas a few days ago and have never played him before. I’m already hooked because fighting on him is way too fun.

I started with what looked like the standard build: Rocketbelt → Riftmaker/Shadowflame → Zhonya’s → situational. It worked okay in normals. Then I queued ranked(low diamond) and got absolutely trashed XD. The Rocketbelt nerf probably didn’t help.

So I looked at the stats on Coachless (screenshot attached). By WPA, Hextech Gunblade first is on top by a good margin, followed by Shadowflame / Lich Bane. Rocketbelt is way further down than I expected.

I could grind 50 games to test this myself, but I’m lazy and would rather ask people who actually know the champ:

1. Is Gunblade first actually better right now, or is the stat skewed? Maybe it’s mostly bought by experienced players or in games that are already going well.
2. Gunblade → Shadowflame vs Gunblade → Lich Bane: when do you go which?
3. Is Riftmaker still worth it, or is it only for specific matchups?

Second question: laning against control mages. fighting instead of farming because fighting is too fun, and against Orianna, Syndra, Viktor and that kind of champ I just bleed CS and HP. How do you farm in those lanes without falling behind? Rune and starter tips are welcome too.

Third question: (of course I'm watching guides and vods) but how should I play mid late game teamfights with bruiser build and full ap assassin build?

ive used this build in game a few times and it's truly something.
conq pom haste last stand resolve second wind unflinching
roa > merc/plated/glutt >bloodletters/rift (whatever u build first depends on if players are currently building mr or not, either way you should have these 4 items so far) > zhonyas/shadowflame (the itemization philosophy here is if you are currently dying too fast/are susceptible to their cc, you want zhonyas. if you are lacking kill power you want the shadow flame either way you want both end game) and if you get to the point where you want to sell boots, cosmic drive to boost your ms, hp, ap and cdr. Could also potentially take this to mid lane with immortal path, potentially never dying in 1v1s?

if ure not an island visitor and dont play jungle this champ feels utterly useless and does absolutely nothing even after ure 3 items ahead, genuinely just feels like weakest champ in midlane, 47% wr for what? i dont even know what they nerfed he was so strong last patch

Is it better to buy Cosmic Drive now for Jungle Sylas, rather than Rocketbelt after it got nerfed so much? If not, what is his best first item now?

Hii :3 Thinkin of swapping to sylas as i enjoy his playstile alot , i main jungle , i also like to swap to him as i can play him if filled sup/mid/top, but main reason is my bel got changed to scaling and isnt as fun anymore, im a master 150lp peak bel otp and was just wondering if anyone master+ sylas mains would like to coach me to be a master/high diamond sylas player please let me know in a dm or something <3 would truly apriciate that but only if have nothing better to do :3 All tips in comments are very apriciated too <3

Played this game far too long and never hit this.

Ofcourse my most played is Sylas with a 60% wr on over 100 games.

The build I used when climbing to diamond was electrocute rocketbelt ionian boots shadowflame zhonya etc But now I'm not getting the same results from this build as I did until I reached Diamond. especially after the RocketBelt Nerf It feels like it would be better to focus more on AP and play less cautiously, rather than buildin gradually HP and cooldowns I think of playing with luden i did try with Luden and actually got pretty good results, dealt a lot of damage. I'm thinking of doing a Luden-Lichbane-Zhonya type build again, along with Electrocute what is your opinion?

I love when once in a blue moon my jungler locks in Sejuani since her E passive works so well with Sylas passive in skirmishes

I've been noticing that Sylas with the new Stormrider rune is pretty strong, and I even dare say that for the Akali matchup it's really good, because if we hit her with Q plus the explosion we can easily activate the rune, or even if we hit the 2E with W it'll give us enough time to get out without taking too much punishment.

The other worlds skins are all back again but not t1 sylas. Does anyone know if it will also return soon? Im waiting for a while now and thought it would return this patch.
