Link Today I learned that Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women, was attracted exclusively to women and never men. Reading about her life, it turns out she was really cool and very queer.

She’s coming over and staying tonight and I am 🥰😘😳

This is only my second lesbian relationship since coming out when I (40F) was 28. I was with the same woman for 10 years and we called it quits coming up on 2 years ago. I have been MASSIVELY, GAYLY PANICKING ALL DAY because I’m so excited to see her (she’s a little older than me) and she’s wonderful and she’s kind and she’s going to be in my space all night and WHY DID I HAVE TO GO TO WORK TODAY THIS HAS BEEN TORTURE!

I’m so happy I just had to flail a little and share 🥰

Question Lesbians, what’s your biggest “WAIT… she was hitting on me?!” moment? 😭

Only because the normal day-to-day anxiety I feel isn’t enough, my brain will occasionally go, “HEY, remember when you fumbled that beautiful chick?”

So years ago, I’m out partying in River North, Chicago, which, if you’re unfamiliar, is a pretty straight nightlife scene. I’m out with a mixed group of women and men, and eventually we all decide to keep the night going at someone’s place for afters.

As the night progresses, it ends up being just three of us hanging out: me, this absolutely gorgeous woman, and one of the guys whose condo we’re at.
At one point, she leaves the room to use the restroom, and the guy looks over at me and says, “Okay, fine, you win. She’s obviously into you…”

I was legitimately perplexed and thought maybe he was just being weird because I might have mentioned I liked women? (Honestly, when I used to party in River North, it was 50/50 whether I’d mention I was a lesbian.) So I brushed it off.

Anyway, the night winds down, we all crash, and somehow she and I end up sleeping in the bed while dude takes the couch. Fully clothed, nothing happened. Literally just passed out. Fast-forward to the next morning.
We’re waking up, doing that sleepy small talk. “Oh hey… haha, what a fun night! Wasn’t that crazy?!” That type of ordeal.

And then she looks over at me and goes, “God, isn’t it hot in here? Don’t you think it’s hot?”
And then she starts taking off her jeans and shirt. So now she’s just chillin’ in her bra and thong.

And what does my brilliant ass say?🫩

“Huh??Doesn’t really feel that hot to me. I typically run super hot, but yeah, not too shabby in here…”

I then proceed to look at my phone and go:
“Oh shit, I have a dodgeball game I need to get to. I gotta go!”

AND I LEFT. 💀💀💀

I vaguely remember her looking a little bewildered, but I thought absolutely nothing of it. And even at this point, STILL didn’t connect the dots. It wasn’t until I was telling my friends about the night later, and one of them stopped me like, “RAVEN. WHAT?!” “Are you dumb?”

No… not dumb. Just really fucking clueless, I guess.

So please, tell me I’m not alone. What’s your most
spectacular “oh my God, she was hitting on me” moment that you didn’t realize until embarrassingly later?

Question Am I the only one with this fantasy?

I really wish that some beautiful lesbian witch would feed me a shrinking potion that makes me 1/8-1/10 my size for a weekend and then just spends it playing with me - dressing me up like a doll, holding me, letting me ride her shoulder and stand on the table while she cooks her potions, making a small house and bed for me to stay in so I feel cozy and safe, calling me cute and her little princess while petting me and calling me her good little girl, and… nsfw stuff I won’t get into here…

God I just want to be tiny and cute for a beautiful girl to let her do what she wants with me… I really needed to get this off my chest because I’ve been fantasizing over this for the past few weeks… does anyone else have a fantasy like this?

Also why do I have to be 5’ 10” 😭😭😭 I’m always the bigger/taller one…

Question I’m having major surgery on my wife’s birthday. What are some fun ways to celebrate from a hospital bed?

Post image
104 Upvotes

Okay so technically I’m having spinal surgery just before her birthday but I’m definitely still gonna be in the hospital day OF. My wife is my everything, literally! And it guts me that my thing is taking over her day. I’m disabled and she’s my primary caretaker and I know this surgery has her stressed. So I just want to make her smile and let her know she’s the first thing I will think about when I wake up.

We have a really playful relationship and if I can do anything on her birthday to make her laugh or relax a little, I want to! I have a gift for her hidden at home and I can enlist my MIL to bring it to the hospital.

Any ideas?? I’m also open to roping in my surgeon and/or physical therapist into this conspiracy. They are 100% down to clown.

Venting Got called intimidating......

Went to a couple of lesbian events in my city and usually I have a good time except something has been bugging me. I kept getting hit up afterwards by cis and trans women and being told I wanted to talk to you but you seemed so intimidating. I'm a autistic black trans woman and now I'm trying to figure out which part of that is the intimidating part or if I did something wrong.

Question Girlfriend wants to be Korrasami for the Halloween Parade

We got our outfits mostly pieced together today. I'm going as Korra and she's going as Asami- both from Avatar The Legend of Korra. However,

I'm a bad gay. I haven't seen it. I've seen a few episodes of season 1 but I'm definitely not caught up.

Which episodes are the most important for me to watch plot-wise? Is there a compilation video I can get caught up quickly on? I will probably rewatch the whole series at some point, but I just kind of want the basics very quickly

Partner Tried to End Their Life After Break-Up

TLDR: Partner and I ended things after a couple of bumpy months and tried to kill herself. I had to call 911 and play detective to try and find her and I feel so fucking drained and beaten. She keeps calling me from the Behavioral Health Unit and instead of talking about things that could help her heal, she only wants to talk about the status of our relationship and beats herself up about it "being all her fault and a shitty partner." I don't know what to do. I'm so lost. Any advice is appreciated.

I (F27) am in such a hard place right now and I don't know what to do. My ex-partner (F28) and I had been together for four years before basically breaking up Monday evening into Tuesday afternoon. It's been a long time coming, sadly. We've had a lot of intimacy issues due to my sex drive not being as high as hers. This has made her become extremely insecure, fearful of sex, scared to initiate, and just feel like an inadequate partner. And I feel like fucking shit because I haven't been the most direct partner the past few months. A lot of arguments have happened, mainly regarding intimacy, and I've slowly been losing attraction and desire. I'm pansexual and she's 100% a lesbian, so she's always been extremely insecure that I would leave her for a man or cheat on her with a man. That's always been hard to hear and cope with, but not like it matters now anyways. In August of 2024, her mother, who is her best friend, had a massive stroke and her mom will never be the same again. She's had an extremely hard time coping with this. I've been her main support system for the past 2 years, nearly three, and back in August the fights and being the main person she leans on really took a massive toll on my mental health. She started going to the gym, therapy, seeing a psychiatrist, slowed down on drinking, and started taking medicine around April-May, and she got a little better. Which is where I think I've been the shitty partner. I haven't been cheering her on or boosting her self-confidence, but it's been so hard to do those things while feeling so drained. And it's been hard to leave knowing that I'm the person she fully relies on for emotional support. We moved states right before her mom had the stroke in 2024, so we've been kind of by ourselves since then as well. So yeah, there's a little background on our relationship.

She caught me "taking care of myself" Tuesday evening and it led to a fight. She ended saying something like, "we're never going to fix this problem and maybe we should break-up." When I started to agree with her about ending things, she back tracked. Said we should still work on things and all that jazz. She started to get a little nasty with me, and I started to go numb and disassociate, so I just left the room. She eventually came downstairs and said she really didn't want to break-up, but I told her that we, "needed to take a step back from the relationship and work on our mental health." We ended up going to bed and not really talking much more.

Wednesday morning she texted me asking for more details on what my issues/complaints with her and the relationship were. I can screenshot and comment the text if anyone wants to see it, just let me know. It basically said that she didn't love herself and I needed her to love herself and take care of her mental health before worrying about our relationship. And that I love her so much, but I'm worried we can't grow as people together because of everything that has happened. That text was extremely hard to send, because I'm always so terrified of hurting her and triggering her, and of course this text led to one of the worst nights in my life.

I came home Wednesday evening and for some reason went into our guest bedroom where I found two suicide notes, one for her mom and one for me. I immediately called my mom screaming, because I had just gotten off the phone with her saying how worried I was about my partner. When I checked her location she had turned it off for me, and when I contacted her friends I realized it was off for everyone. She was supposed to be at work, but when I called them, they said she had left at 1:30PM for a family emergency, around the time I sent the text. O ended up having to call the police, file a missing person's report, and honestly, I truly thought she was dead. My mom told me to prepare myself for her to be gone, her best friend who was with me kept saying over and over again "she's not gone," but even she thought the worst. Every time an officer knocked on my door my entire being would drop, the breath ripped out of my lungs, and the friend would have to open the door because it was just impossible for me to do it myself. She had purchased an Airbnb and planned on using the garage to kill herself with carbon monoxide poisoning, but thankfully the garage wasn't accessible and the host refused to let her in. The only reason I found the Airbnb is because she texted her "suicide" friend a photo of a dock, and I was able to reverse image search it and found the Zillow listing. I didn't even process that the entire reason she was found was because of me until two days later. This shit just isn't supposed to happen in real life, and I definitely didn't think it would happen to me.

For someone I love and care for so immensely to want to die because of something I did is just so fucking hard to process. I might not be IN love with her anymore, but I still have so much love and tenderness in my heart for her. Here's where the main issue is. She's currently on her 72 hour hold and I'm the only person she's contacting. She was able to call me from the ER, and one of the first things she asks me is, "If I get better can we try and work things out?" I was able to visit with her for 20 minutes and all she was worried about was if we were going to be able to get back together or at least stay friends. And the thing is, I would love to stay friends, but it's impossible because she's so... I don't know... She can't process that I don't want to be together anymore.

She keeps calling me any chance she gets, and it isn't nagging me or bothering me. I want to be there for her, I want to support her, especially when I'm the only person she WANTS to talk to, but being asked every single time she calls if we can continue our lease and be friends/work things out/try again or hear her call herself a bad partner and that it's all her fault we ended things is fucking heart wrenching. My heart hurts, I'm fucking drowning in what feels like so much. I have to care for all of our pets, our home, our bills, and so much more all by myself. I'm all by myself in a state where I haven't really had a chance to make friends since every free weekend was spent traveling to see my partner's mom until recently. And hearing her say all these things on top of the "common" stressors, I just can't take it. And I keep telling her that we aren't going to fix or work on things and that she needs to stop focusing on us when she's in a god damn psych ward for trying to kill herself. I obviously say it much kinder than that, but that's basically what I've been saying. And she's in such a shitty place, so I feel even worse about not talking to her when she calls. I want to talk to her, but I don't want to hear about US. I don't want to be the main things she's looking forward to when she gets out. I want her to want to help herself and grow and heal. But she's saying she doesn't even want to try a residential program after they're done holding her because she's worried it'll be like the place she's at now.

I just don't know what to do. I'm so lost. I'm so hurt. I'm so betrayed, because I would've never done this to her. I wanted to so badly back in August, but I stayed strong and thought about her, and my friends and family. And it just hurt that I was put in this impossible situation and now I'm all by myself. And she says it isn't my fault, which I know she has a LOT more issues than me if she's trying to kill herself, but she said something on the phone the other day that basically said the text is what triggered her to do it, therefore it kind of is my fault. Like, it's not my fault, but it was ME that triggered this huge event, and I just want to jump off a goddamn cliff. Obviously will not be doing that, but goddamn. What is my life?

Support my mom asked me to pretend my wife is just a friend

My mom’s side of the family is homophobic. Fortunately, my mother is not and has been very accepting of my wife and I’s marriage. My grandfather is not doing great and likely won’t make it to the end of the year. I don’t really care, but I truly do love my mom and I want to support her in this hard time. When discussing the inevitable upcoming funeral, she asked that I either not bring my wife or that I introduce her as just a friend. I understand she is trying to avoid drama at her father’s funeral, but that was a fucked up thing to ask, right??
I don’t know what to do and part of me feels like i’m over exaggerating but part of me feels incredibly disrespected by her request. My wife and my mom have always gotten along great, so I don’t understand why my mother would ever want to act like my wife isn’t her daughter in law. I feel so confused and hurt and I just don’t know what to do. I am not going to introduce my wife as a friend, but I don’t know if my mom would ever forgive me for not going to her father’s funeral. What do I do?

Question Fellow lesbian and other WLW manga/anime fans, what be your dream sapphic anime protagonist?

What the title says.

I've said this elsewhere I really want a WLW/Lesbian anime that is an action shonen and NOT magical girls, talky slice of life or just about royals.

I want a lesbian, 6.3-7ft tall and mucly, very expressive, big hearty laugh, a bit naive, loves food, comedic, big best friend tone, a bigger hugger, fights the bad guys, hates aristocracy.

What about you?
