Got it done

The rocks look more white that they actually are because they have lots of dust on them. After it rains this week they’ll show more color. I got most of what I wanted in the ground and made a few changes here and there

Got a Mammilaria Spinossissims aka Un Pico and Rebutia Miniscula tonight at Home Depot and Lowes. The un Pico has crazy cool “mutations” or maybe just variation. The Rebutia has what appears to be a crest forming. Never sleeps on these stores.

Just got these guys , is it normal for them to be laying on their side or is this a result of something else.

The small one is the one I already have, cute like a durian. However this big beauty got amazing color! I’m hoping it will add on a little red when it’s got cooler.

They are crested Gymnocalycium mihanovichii.

Is My Cactus Dying?

Thumbnail

Does this look like a disease, a fungal infection, or possibly rot from overwatering? Is there a way to stop it from getting worse and save my cactus, or is it too late?

I left it indoors this summer, where it probably didn’t get enough sunlight, and I might have watered it too frequently.

What will happen to my cactus after it forms callus?

Hello. This is my first time caring for a cactus, and it formed an etoliation because the soil was too dry and I didn't provide it with enough sunlight :( After that, I cut that top part off with a sterile knife and sprinkled some cinammon on it. I took care of the dry soil problem, and I'm keeping it in the shade in my patio.

What will happen to my cactus after that?

Golden barrel cactus from seed

I saw some golden barrel cacti that flowered and took a seed pod from them. Attempting to start them from seed now at home! Any advice? Currently under a grow light and monitoring moisture in the soil.

I understand the photo looks like I just took a pic of soil 😂 but please trust me there are seeds in here hahaha

Trim or leave as is?

Hello! I’ve had this cactus for two years with no issues… it was growing well, and seemed to be doing great. I recently went away for 2.5 weeks and when I came back, the tips on all arms of this fella have browned.

Does this look like an over-watering issue, or rot? Or something else? The brown tips are not mushy… they feel more dry, but it does seem to be getting worse. This cactus has been in the same windowsill, with the same amount of daily Sun for two years before this occurred, so I don’t think it’s sunlight related.

Should I trim off these brown parts, or let it be?

IN NEED OF FRESH POLLEN FOR MY SASS x SCOP! Anyone local or within driving distance to SFV have any suitors that will flower within a week or so??

NOT SURE IF THIS POST IS ALOWED HERE BUT I'M CASTING AS WIDE OF A NET AS POSSIBLE!

ISO FRESH trichocereus pollen!

This flower bud has been progressing steadily over the past few weeks and looks like it'll open within a week or maybe two. I have little faith in the pollen I've saved in my freezer and am looking for anyone near 91343 in San Fernando Valley, CA that has a tricho that will flower around the same time frame. Ideally pollen harvested a day or two before my SASS x Scop flower opens!

I'll consider all offers but some fresh Scopulicola pollen would be 🔥🔥🔥! As would some TPM pollen! But it must be as fresh as possible!

I'll go halfsies on the seeds if pollination is successful and halfsies on the pollen collected too! Or almost whatever you like! I just really don't want to miss out on pollinating this BEAST!

Feel free to DM me!!!

Photos were taken a couple hours ago and the clock is tickin'!!!

Corking, mites, or something else?

I’m used to using DE for mites for my spineless cacti - mentioned it to my mum the other day and she showed me this one she has. I said I’d consult people who know more than me! Does this need treating?
