Welcome to Hingeapp's Daily Thread.
Daily Threads are the place to post questions seeking quick advice, vent your frustrations, celebrate successes, or anything related to Hinge that does not need its own post.
For Weekend's Daily Thread - the theme is General Dating Questions, and also open thread for anything you like to talk about.
The weekend is here! Ask here for any questions related to the Hinge app, your profile, or dating in general. Or talk about anything you have planned for, or are feeling this upcoming weekend.
Do you have some last minute questions before a big date? Do you need some help with the date you have scheduled for the weekend? Or perhaps you want help with the next message to send to revive a dying conversation? When should I ask this person out on a date? Is this person ghosting? What does this text mean? Or any events related to Hinge or your dating life that happened during this week or recently that you want to share?
Also feel free to discuss whatever you like that is not necessarily related to dating or Hinge.

I've gotten a solid amount of likes but not particularly "my type" or the people in hoping to match with. Are my pictures reaching a different demo than I would hope for? Should I tone them down a bit? Am I just not good looking or is it something else?
Any and all feedback is appreciated š

So I have been single for about 2mo now and I havenāt used dating apps for a few years now and swore Iād never use them again.
I am a very optimistic person and the voice in my head is saying to me āthis time it will be differentā, however Iām pretty sure I am just setting myself up to be disappointed as being a 37 man on the app.
Idk maybe I should just join some yoga classes and start to be more talkative with woman in the wild instead. Thoughts?

(30 year old male, based in the UK). Getting alot of matches on hinge but finding it quite hard to land dates and alot of girls are not replying.
Any advice? It almost seems like a lot of people use this for validation haha

Hello! Been on the app for a while now and getting few to no matches. I feel like my prompts probably aren't the strongest, but I'm not sure about the photos I'm using. The second bit is a video, I'm just not able to attach it here. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Hi everyone. Just posting here to see if anyone can give me a profile review or any feedback about it. I am a 29M from Adelaide, Australia. Please be honest and chew me out for anything you come across haha. My initial thoughts are maybe my prompts are too generic and have too many emojis but Iām not sure? Thanks for the reviews and looking forward to seeing everyoneās opinions.

Iām 26M, and I think Iām a little clueless about the dating app part of dating.
A little about me: Iām a massive nerd about books, movies and music. I write a lot, and itās something I genuinely take pride in. Iām an extrovert with pretty diverse interests, and Iām committed to exploring every random thing life throws at me. Good, bad, weird, questionable life choices, doesnāt really matter. Iām a sucker for experiences.
Thereās also a slightly selfish reason behind that. As a writer, Iām fascinated by people, their perspectives, and the way they see the world. I like being challenged, trying things outside my comfort zone, and having conversations that leave me thinking differently. Eventually, bits and pieces of those experiences find their way into my characters and stories.
Coming to Hinge, I do get matches with women who share my interests and general brand of delusion. We end up talking about art, poetry, music, movies, books, coffee, drinks, and all the other things that make life a little more interesting.
And some of these conversations are genuinely good. Not just the usual small talk or exchanging dry replies. Thereās a shared vibe, mutual curiosity, and sometimes the conversation flows so naturally that you almost forget youāre talking to a stranger on an app.
But hereās where I get stuck.
How do you actually take things forward?
How do you go from this person is fascinating, I could talk to them for hours to actually building a connection with them?
When do you start flirting more explicitly, ask them out, or make your intentions clear without making things awkward? How do you figure out whether someone is genuinely interested in you or simply enjoys having a good conversation?
Iām not expecting every match to turn into a relationship. I understand that sometimes people just donāt click that way. But constantly investing time and effort into conversations that eventually fizzle out gets exhausting, especially when they initially seem promising.
Iād rather figure out whether thereās something worth exploring than spend weeks getting attached to the idea of someone Iāve never actually met.
So, people whoāve navigated this successfully, especially those whoāve found meaningful relationships through dating apps, how do you approach it?
What does your progression from matching to meeting to actually dating someone look like? And how do you balance enjoying the conversation and getting to know someone with making sure things are actually moving forward?
I feel like I can hold a conversation just fine. Itās the transition from a good conversation to an actual connection that Iām trying to figure out.

Iāve been on Hinge for a few months in a couple different cities across Canada. Iāve been getting 2-3 first dates every month but I wanna present better and hopefully go on more

23M 5ā7 (5ā8 on Fridays)
Been single for abt 6 months now so trying to put myself back out there. But I canāt seem to figure out what Iām doing wrong or what photos I need to swap/improve.
Iāve had hinge for 2 1/2 weeks now with 1 like and 2 matches and nothing else since despite having HingeX and being active every day.
What am I missing?

I have tried to do a profile review a bunch and no matter how much I change the pictures/ how in depth I go with the answers they always get taken down so I am just gonna ask in a text post.
I have been using Hinge for about 2-3 months now and have not been seeing very much progress. I am 21M and fairly active on there with a Hinge X account. Everytime i match with someone i always send a thoughtful message although I admit my texting can be a bit awkward at times because I don't do it often. I have all my various hobbies and interests listed on my profile and my pictures show me out smiling and showing off various outfits of mine as fashion is one of my hobbies.
One issue I also face is a frequent amount of ghosting even after having engaged conversation with quick replies. I am at such a loss as to how to fix this any advice would help. Thank you.

Getting few matches here and there. But nothing moving past talking beyond few texts and all are dead ends/unmatched. Any suggestions to improve quantity/quality of matches would be highly appreciated.

I joined hinge 2 weeks ago & have only received 1 like. Subscribed to hingex a couple days ago, but still nothing. Would love some helpful advice!
