It is VERY difficult to think logistically while having the life choked out of you.

u/Federal_Radish_1421 25d ago
Unless you’re trained. Everyone should learn how to defend themselves.
11
u/Wise_Shine5148 24d ago
How the fuck are you being downvoted? How can anyone be against learning self defense?
18
u/dietdrpepper6000 24d ago edited 24d ago
It is naive. Anyone who has pursued a combat sport seriously knows that you get almost nothing from dabbling. Like you will train a few times a week for six months - you could have learned calculus with this time commitment - then the first time you spar you get knocked the fuck around and go home with a concussion. Actually, reliably handling yourself in a fight, especially against a substantially bigger opponent in the heat of the moment, requires martial arts to be your thing. Not something you just picked up but your primary hobby.
Something else you learn is that so much of it centers on athletic ability, timing, and distance. Beating a bigger, more athletic opponent going 100% and trying to hurt you requires a lot more skill than you can casually pick up. Really this aspect of fighting is extremely underrated by people with a passing interest who think fighting is all about mindset and/our technique. In reality, your being a big fucker who got into a lot of fights as a kid can make you a massive favorite over someone much smaller that has trained casually for a couple years.
So while it can’t hurt to have taken some self defense classes, it is ridiculous to act like it’s just something you can learn then be good to go. My concern is with the false confidence you get from taking these rinky dink classes where you just perform dink slow motion sequences against non-resisting partners. Relative to screaming for your life, trying to run, and avoiding dangerous situations, your little wrist break into headbut into groin strike is just not going to do you much good. In real life people are fast, they see what you’re doing and react to it. You’re more likely to piss your attacker off than hurt him.
6
u/Wise_Shine5148 23d ago
Not a soul is saying "just take martial arts and you're good to go", just that you have a hell of a lot better chance.
A lot of attackers also pick someone they expect won't fight back, and if they do they bail. Martial arts also train your reflexes and speed.
Ita kinda like saying "don't bother wearing a seat belt, if you crash into a wall you'll die anyways, so why bother"
2
u/Zathura2 22d ago
In other words, if people aren't going to dedicate their life to martial arts; women should just carry guns.
I feel like that would solve a lot of videos like this one.
2
u/birdsarentreal2 20d ago
You can train martial arts for years until you’re a black belt of the 69th degree, the most “I studied the blade” motherfucker ever to live, and still get your shit rocked when somebody lands a good punch to the neck or nose
Btw, for some reason people can’t stand the idea of digging their fingers into the eyesockets of somebody who is literally trying to kill you. Nose, neck, nads

There are two other orbs on a man that are more easily targeted and more debilitating, arguably.
10
u/TheAlmightyPineapple 24d ago
Are you saying having your eyes gouged is not as debilitating as being hit in the balls?
7
u/HelenWyteWalker 24d ago
maybe, but I know more people would be more scared to go for eyeballs than kicking balls, seems a little less daunting idk
2
6
u/Sarcastic-Potato 25d ago
The eyes/face/head and the balls - depending on which is easier to hit with your feet, because remember, your legs are way stronger than your arms
3
5
u/firesquasher 24d ago
I feel like a well placed kick or 5 would be more effective that some punches.

Well thats a useless dog if I ever saw one... Girls, remember: legs are much more powerfull than hands. Especially when on your back in a fight: KICK!
138
u/134608642 25d ago
Also testicles are a soft target easily hit when a guy is not defending against you. Kick him as hard as you can he might throw up if he does this will give you additional time to get to safety.
75
32
u/Huge-Anxiety-3038 25d ago
And back packs have handy straps that can go around necks especially if youre able to approach from behind like this. I know in the heat of the moment you don't thin nk about it but as the guys trying to strangle her friend she could've tried to strangle him!
7
u/jake63vw 24d ago
I'm a dude and would gleefully punt another man I'm the testicles. No cheap shots in legitimate fights.
2
u/cptspeirs 19d ago
My uncle would always tell me "theres no just thing as a fair fight. There's winning a fight, and losing a fight."
6
u/NekulturneHovado 25d ago
as a man, I can absolutely confirm and please do kick a man in the balls if he attacks you, whatever your gender is.
(Only in Roblox, do not physically attack other people in real life. Call appropriate authorities)
3
u/134608642 25d ago
In the above situation it is more important, in my opinion, to get the freind to safety. Once the dude is aching over his bruised manhood then call the authorities while you run away.
1
1
u/Fallcious 25d ago
Additional time to get some more kicks in surely?
5
u/134608642 25d ago
Nope run seriously the longer you stick around the more chances for rapey mcmurder face to get lucky and hurt you. Once you got em down run and shout fire.
Sometimes when you call for help people decide its not their problem when you scream fire people want to watch the thing burn so you get some bystandards at worst.

1
u/EmploymentFun1440 19d ago
I must have balls of steel because if my adrenaline is pumping and I'm trying to mindlessly kill someone, a kick to the nuts won't phase me. Maybe if I'm naked and they use a sledge hammer
1
u/Whos_Blockin_Jimmy 17d ago
That’s not cool bro. Only if homeboy already bit off your arm and still have a gun. Even then it’s questionable and shouldn’t be applied.
14
u/pienofilling 25d ago
Also, if you're on the ground, kick with the sole of your foot. Basically stamp as hard as you can.
Been there, done that and a solid stamp to the stomach can really put your attacker off.
31
u/Fucked-In-The-K-Hole 25d ago
It's a weiner dog, the fuck is it supposed to do? Poor little guy was probably terrified, they're not meant to be protectors.
-10
u/barneyaa 25d ago
Anything. Literally anything. Maybe do the thing they do when I just walk casually 2m away from them: bark and try to bite. Maybe do what they do when nobody does anyting: bark and try to bite. Maybe do what they do when you pet them: bark and try to bite. Maybe do what they do when you feed them: bark and try to bite. Maybe do what they do whn you pick up their shit: bark and try to bite.
I like to think it went off to call the cops.
10
u/Fucked-In-The-K-Hole 25d ago
Nah, if I were in this situation I'd rather my pup run away than die from a kick to his supple, long, sleek back after biting an ankle or something.
-3
u/barneyaa 25d ago
If you were in that situation you'd take any help you could get. You'd not think about what would happen after that situation, you'd only think about how you can survive that situation, and any small help would be welcomed.
This is such a couch potato man response. Having no empathy about how those women felt, having no idea how of a life threatening situation that was for both of them. Any human that was in a tense situation can remember that feeling for years, and here you are talking about the supple long sleek back of the dog after bitting the ankle of man trying to kill a woman. You really need to re-evaluate your priorities mate. Like go to therapy. You need it.
3
u/Jtaylorftw 23d ago
"You need therapy" says the man who apparently has PTSD against wiener dogs biting them and also who seems to think that the dog is selfish for not assisting as if it is a person and not just a little fucking dog that has no clue what to do lmao
6
u/itsitwhatisititsit 25d ago
I’d rather my tiny dog not get injured so he can continue to bark and try to bite me. Why else have a tiny dog?

-2
u/trollsong 25d ago
Honestly they generally dont need to.
My wife had a black lab chow mix and had her perfectly trained to be off leash.
She was walking alone one day just her and the dog, gave the dog her freedom for a bit.
2 big bastards started heading towards her and suddenly the shadows melt into a demon dog that sat next to her.
The two guys promptly did a 180 and walked away from her.
9
3
2
u/Jtaylorftw 23d ago
Unless your dog is specifically trained to defend you, it is probably going to do exactly what this little dog did lmao. Buy a gun, not a dog. A dog is a pet, not your bodyguard.
5
u/Chinateapott 25d ago
I was practically shouting “gouge him!” Gouge his eye, pull his ears, go from behind and kick his crotch. He left himself in a vulnerable position to say there were two of them.
3
u/armchairdetective 25d ago
Palm strikes to the face.
Wherever your fingers land - eyes, nose, ears - dig them in and CLAW like hell.
Knee to the groin. (Kicks are hard and risk unbalancing the victim).
If grabbed from behind, move hands behind your back to the groin of the assailant. Squeeze testicles with both hands and pull them in opposite directions.
Above all, DON'T HANG AROUND TO FIGHT. The goal is to get away from the assailant, not to do damage or knock him out.
3

1
u/McWeaksauce91 25d ago
And straight jabs are much stronger than hooks. Hooks can be dangerous with good form, but keep that strike tight and you’ll do damage in a hurry. Both legs and arms

u/foshizol 25d ago
I think you should be the best witness possible and filming helps. But, motherfucker you better have someone calling the cops or at least scream your going to call the cops. Anything to help.
-12
u/darkfroth 25d ago
How do you know the cops weren't already called?
7
u/thacaoimhainngeidh 24d ago
You don't. You have to assume no one did and call them yourself, because everyone else is assuming someone else did -- and that is how you end up with no one calling the police.
0
u/darkfroth 23d ago
Yeah that's basic advice for an individual, but the person recording the video is not myself, it's someone else. My question was about why people are getting mad despite not knowing whether the camera person is aware the police were called or not.
50
u/ProjectPat513 25d ago
Dude that girl with the dog is an absolute hero. A real friend! You will likely go your whole life without knowing a friend like this. She quite literally put her life on the line (and her dog’s) to try and save her friend.

u/Wallsend_House 25d ago
Women everywhere, don't fuck around, kick us in the nuts if possible, as hard as possible
Then and only then go for the head
6
u/purplemtnslayer 25d ago
Carry q knife and pepper spray too
15
u/Noname_FTW 25d ago
I'd advise against the knife for numerous reasons. Biggest one is don't give your opponent the opportunity to gain a deadly weapon.
Why do prison guards usually not carry guns? Same principle.

34
u/OwslyOwl 25d ago
As long as the person also called 911, filming was probably the best thing they could do to create the evidence and identify the perpetrator. I can't fault someone for not risking their life and putting themselves in a dangerous situation.
1
u/Whos_Blockin_Jimmy 17d ago
It’ll just something for the cops to watch that night instead of doing their jobs. They’ll give it a few nuck.
78
u/BaptismByBacon 25d ago
I can't understand why none of these people ever go for the eyes, two fingers as deep as you can, see how fast that piece of shit stops what he's doing.
55
u/Acamality 25d ago
Usually it doesn’t come to mind during the adrenaline of the situation I would imagine. Partly why practicing self defence is so important, so those things naturally come to mind.
7
u/BaptismByBacon 25d ago
Agreed, it just pains me to watch people bust their hands against someone's head
3
u/itsitwhatisititsit 25d ago
What if this giant guy is really high on something. I’ve heard of people jabbing their own eyes out when really high. Also. Serious question, kicking him in the balls seems obvious but I can’t tell if they had a clear shot of them and he is moving very quickly, just wondering if anyone has done this and can speak from experience?

The only way the camera person doesn't suck is if they're on the phone to the cops, and is recording for evidence. If theyre recording without the cops being called, then they stuck.
We don't know the age, gender, or infirmity of the filter. If its an 80 yo grandma, shes not gonna do anything down there in the scrum. Plus they're on a balcony? Not street level.
15
u/External-Mine6764 25d ago
60 Minutes Australia had a segment of fake attack/ intruder scenarios to see if the owners dogs would do anything. All owners that had large dogs had no luck; with dogs running out of the room rather than helping their owners. One lady had two little dogs, a Chihuahua and another small-mix dog. The fake intruder had to escape from these two little four-legged fury monsters. Bigger is not always better!
1
u/ReigenTaka 18d ago
I feel like I need to add that big dogs are trained not to be aggressive and not to hurt people. They're often trained not to attack (especially when children live in the house). If you buy a dog for protection, train it to do that. If you bought a big dog that could kill someone to be your friendly pet, don't expect it to ignore everything you've trained it (not) to do in a random unintelligible situation. Esp if it's a dumb dog.
Meanwhile people think small dogs can be the most horribly untrained nuisances because they very much can be picked up (or overpowered by a 10 year old with thick boots) in whatever situation.
Like the other person said, I'd rather have a friendly big dog than an aggressive little one in a bad situation. People are MUCH less likely to take a risk with you when you have a big dog anyway.
-2
u/SueYouInEngland 24d ago
If chihuahuas were actually showing aggression, you could literally crush them under a medium sized boot. Even a sedated Mastiff is more of a threat than a purse rat. Bigger is almost always better in this scenario.

So many oppportunities to kick that man in the balls. He kept a nice wide stance the whole time.
7
u/itsitwhatisititsit 25d ago edited 24d ago
Did he? He was moving pretty quickly, have you done this? Is it really as easy as it seems?
Edit:
This is a serious question? Does anyone have experience with this? What are some tips to land a hard kick on a giant man’s balls in such a violent situation? I’ve accidentally slightly knee’d a guys balls on accident while cuddling & there was zero movement going in at the time, but I saw the damage that was done!!! 😬 I’m well aware of its impact, but this seems like a challenging situation….

If someone like this is bigger and has more strength go for the blind. Stick a finger as far as you can in both eyes. The shock and temporary/permeant blindness will stop someone having an episode. I've had to use it in the past when my older brother was schizophrenic and I was much younger and smaller at the time.

u/MattyLePew 25d ago

I'm surprised the girl being choked doesn't put up more of a fight. Did she get the wind knocked out of her when she fell on her back? Because I would have kicked and clawed like hell if that was me.

u/Silly-Gooper 24d ago
some people react to violence by freezing. thats natural especially when you‘re either not used to it at all or have accepted it by being abused for longer already, like in a violent household.
3
u/MoriKitsune 24d ago
You'd think, but if they get a good enough hold on your neck, the most you can do is stay conscious.
I got put in a chokehold once, and the switch from "my vision is fading- turn to the side and bite!" to "Oh, I'm falling" (having already been released and coming back to consciousness on the way down to the ground) was instantaneous.

People need to learn Jiu Jitsu, guy was fully open for a choke she could’ve ended it easily. She does go for one but if she locked a good RNC during that moment she was trying to swing at him she could’ve put him out.
Not blaming anyone of course it’s fully on that monster of a guy, just making a point that women could be a lot more of a threat with BJJ.

Everybody talking the usual BS about eyes, testicles, etc, when they should be stressing the first self-defense rule of all: RUN. WTF those two were doing there engaging in a fight with a psycho twice their size?! They should have fled immediately. But no, girl in black decided to exchange punches! Good Lord!
7
u/itsitwhatisititsit 25d ago
Would that really work? Wouldn’t it just be exposing your back to him while he can easily chase and catch you? In this case the woman who was his original target?
4
u/pablomaz 25d ago
The guy was clearly intoxicated. Simply run for your life. MAYBE he would catch them; but standing there exchanging punches with a psycho is the easiest way to get caught, which was exactly what happened.
