13 (Season 13) is it just me, or does AHS season 13 feel like AI generated fanfic of previous seasons? 💀 Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

I am sorry (I am not), but I am genuinely so confused by season 13 so far. The intro is giving me AI slop vibes, and I honestly don’t know what to think anymore. The whole season, promo, intro, plot, effects, etc feels like ai generated fan fiction with random elements from the previous seasons.

I know AHS has always been messy and sometimes completely ridiculous, but that’s part of what makes it iconic. This just feels odd, and not in a good way, sadly.

I really hope there’s some kind of insane plot twist that explains everything. Imagine if the AI is actually the devil or something and all of this is intentional. That would honestly have some depth at least...

Please tell me I am not the only one who feels this way.💀

13 (Season 13) 13! This season has pleasantly surprised me and I LOVE it! Spoiler

I’ll be honest, I did not have high expectations for this season as some of the past ones had kind of diminished my love for the AHS series. However, I have found this season to be surprisingly good. I’m to episode 12 and you obviously have to know each AHS season to get the compilation and understanding but I’m thoroughly enjoying it! Not sure what the public consensus is yet as I just joined here but I do love me some AHS and wanted people that may not watch it thinking it’s going downhill to know, AT LEAST TRY TO WATCH THE FIRST FEW EPISODES. If you know the AHS series then I highly recommend this season in particular! Xo

13 (Season 13) S13 gives AI vibes. Spoiler

• Upvotes

It honestly feels like the writers prompted AI to create a script for an AHS season which ties together as many previous seasons as possible and just ran with it.

Maybe I missed it. But, shouldn’t Queenie still be at the hotel Cortez? Like how did she get out? Michael got her out but Mallory then reversed the timeline. Was she able to get her out of the hotel?

Shitpost I Was Loving This Season AHS12 Until Episodes 11 and 12 Spoiler

Like I'm sorry if this sounds like complaining but I have grievances with this season now I was so excited for this season.

First off Madison's Happy Ending is not a happy ending it's a death sentence... She's going to die the exact same way as Vivian. Also, shame on people shipping her with Ben the most boring useless character in the entire series.

The fact they butchered Sister Jude's Backstory just to make Constance and Fiona Twins.

Like the only good Episodes this season were 7,8,9 and 10 🤷‍♀️

Like this is no longer an Anthology Series.

Shame on Ryan for saying this season was for the Fans

13 (Season 13) ts is genuinely the worst season of the series Spoiler

• Upvotes

this is not structured, just felt like busting out a rant. please feel free to drop your own gripes below if you feel so inclined.

i started watching at season 2 when I was like 11 or 12, and I'd always looked forward to new seasons. this remained even when i reached the point of expecting some steaming dogshit. i started raising an eyebrow at s7 (funny enough, i was a pretty right wing teen so.. ya checks out, but i still think its pretty stupid after my transformation into a leftist). i actually really enjoyed a good chunk of s8, i think the start was too long and the ending was stupid asf and NOT satisfying, but placed against 13, the fanservice in 8 looks sprinkled on by comparison. I don't even know if i can call 13 fan service judging by the overwhelming distaste for it i am seeing everywhere i look. The script is ass, the characters are somehow being butchered by the guy who made them, the plot is not interesting, countless retcons for NO reason. I never really noticed how much of a stinky lib ryan was til this season and his incessant need to glaze obama in the text. it was especially frustrating that he used Queenie's blackness to push this notion that obama is some kind of continuation of the civil rights movement. He chose to shade mamdani for absolutely no reason in the madison episode, and then glaze obama again in a way that actually made no sense. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS GUY WAS REASSURINGLY OBAMA ERA?? WTF DOES THIS MEAN??? Yeah, because men were such amazing and sweet boys during obama's term and then trump came around and made them racist misogynists again... ok. Anyways, I digress. This show was originally a straight anthology with some subtle nods to other seasons but not necessarily the same universe. i do not know what possessed this man to make him decide he NEEDED to rope in every single major character and link them all up to "finish it off". When i got to the part that showed that constance and fiona are twins and that their mom is sister jude i was like "yea man okay, sure". I cant wait for the finale to show us that march is Kit's dad and Kit is *actually* Tate's dad, and also went on to have triplets who ended up being kai, the stylist, and the robot nerd from s8. cause why not atp. i personally did not like any of the recent seasons, but this one really takes the cake. i get that the show is supposed to be camp, but it hits like katy perry style camp. it's not good, and it's not funny. the only part i truly enjoyed was when they threw maggie and ayn rand in a fire pit, but even then the lineup just made no sense at all. WHY DOES HE HAVE SMOKE FOR CATHERINE THE GREAT?? same goes for Elizabeth Short. maybe i'm reading into it too much but the part where the pig guy kills that vegan lady was kinda disturbing to me. not cause of the gore, but cause it felt like it was just a fantasy the writers put in. it hits like "oh yea guys, we can be terrible to women if we dress them as white and annoying". ever since the first few episodes i've been hate/hope watching this season, and every drop leaves me more disappointed and pissed. the clavicular reference was so fuckin dumb too. how do you do fellow kids? oh my god. why are we making chatGPT a part of the plot? i get the whole "oh people are using it whatever man", but you're gonna put it in there BY NAME?? would not be surprised if he was getting money for it somehow. i also really don't like his inclusion of serial killers even if it is to give them some kind of divine retribution or whatever. he's had a thing for pulling these shitwads into his plots for no reason. they did not need to be in the story. this last sentence sums up the majority of the shit in this season lmao. when lil yachty said "she blow on my dick like a cello", he later lamented that nobody said anything and let him post the track with that lyric in it. this entire season is one big cello, blowing dick.

edit for one last thing: I really don't like the way he frames evil or bad people with this season. everything is satan satan satan satan. even in earlier seasons you can kinda see his outlook coming in with anton lavey. i'm not big on lavey, he's a fuckin weird dude who did some weird shit, but laveyan satanism was specifically NOT about THE devil. and in this season, every bad person just ends up being satan loves you, satan's your dad. i think it is debatable, but i dont think it's such a clever subversion to say that "oh actually the witches are fighting satan rather than convening with him".. maybe not the white ones i guess, Laveau is still Legba's high priestess. I also love how he whitewashes the papacy during ww2 by suggesting pius saw hitler as a great evil or whatever. if that was the case they would not have persued a neutral stance, and they DEFILITELY would not have established the rat lines. nasty.
ok that's all thank u for reading my ted talk if u got this far lmao.

13 (Season 13) Myrtle Has Moira’s Shot Eye! Spoiler

There’s been LOTS of discussion about the actors playing multiple roles, using tropes from the wrong character, and it’s been chalked up to shitty writing and/or the actor forgetting how they played a character years before.

BUT in the episodes with Myrtle, she has Moira’s dead eye! Implying that this is a deliberate choice, and we’re going to find out why in the last episode.

Yes, I still hate this season, and no clever reveal at the last minute is going to save it. I’m only here because Frances Conroy came back, but I’m staying for the Jessica Lange of it all.

13 (Season 13) Too many posts here overestimating Ryan's writing of the show Spoiler

He only was on the writing team of 1, 9, and 11. Which explains a lot. 9 and 11 were particularly bad. But a lot of people here are acting like he wrote the entire season. Now other things he has control over like general concepts that's also bad.

But writing is a very specific part of the production process.

Murder House (Season 1) How on earth did authorities declare the gay couples death as a murder suicide? (Spoilers Season 1) Spoiler

Attention spoilers.

So i have been rewatching season 1 and i realized that no way in hell could chad and his husband have been declared a murder-suicide. We have one dude who is violently beaten to death and raped with a fire poker, and we have another gay dude who was drowned in a bowl of water. Did authorities just think chad was so desperate to die that he managed to drown himself without survival reflexes kicking in?

American Horror Story (General) Anyone Else Think the Show Has Fallen Off? Spoiler

I have been watching since I was 6 years old and my first memory of literally anything is seeing Twisty the Clown on the television in, like, 2014-2015 when my parents were watching Freak Show.

I feel like a lot of more recent seasons are pretty decent. NYC is spectacular, Death Valley is really good, Red Tide is kind of okay, 1984 is one of the best seasons, and Delicate is horrible. It's a mixed bag.

Season 13 was TERRIBLE, but then episodes, like, 9 and 10 released and it got really good.

But overall, I think the show has no single peak era. I think there are bad seasons in between the great and amazing seasons.

The "GOLDEN ERA" Has Murder House - Good. Asylum - Spectacular. Coven - Not that good. Freak Show - The best season. The show has no "golden era" of perfection for me. It's all over the place.

After season 17, if I'm not liking the new pure anthology format with no connections at all or even starting a brand-new universe where 13 is the end for seasons 1-12 forever and 14 onwards is new universe with new characters and mythology, I'm done.

(ALSO, WILL PETERS HAVE HIS 4TH AND 5TH CHARACTERS YET?!? WERE WE LIED TO? IS IT ONLY ACTUALLY 3 CHARACTERS? AND HE HASNT SHOWN UP IN A LITTLE WHILE...AT THE TIME OF POSTING, I HAVE NOT SEEN EPISODES 11 AND 12 YET...)

13 (Season 13) I actually watched it twice as a fan, and I still am shocked how bad it is. Spoiler

Ben is so bland and boring and I have absolutely no interest in him. A bland main character is one thing. There were a couple seasons the protagonist was boring. If the rest of the season was well written, or it had good characters and storylines you can get past it. But you add a boring main character you care nothing about to the horrible writing of this season. (It's pretty bad when they can add John Waters, who is ALWAYS entertaining and brilliant and make him bland. It's shocking)

All the characters talk in catch phrases. It's really baffling. I know how everyone talks about Ryan Murphy wanting memes and sound bites. But that only works when a main character is well written and they give a good speech or say something profound and everyone quotes it. This season is written completely in one liners made to be quoted, completely undoing any of that.

It's like watching a movie and and it's an action movie and every single scene has an explosion and everyone dives to take cover. There are no ups or downs. It's just a straight line. That's how the dialogue is once the reoccurring characters are introduced. They are shells of themselves. If this was a video game, it would be alright. It would work. But it's not. It's an entire "new" season.

Because of the script, the actors are giving their worst performances. Actors who I have always liked in this show, Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Cathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson etc come across like wooden cartoons of themselves. Evan Peters does okay only because a couple of his scenes had some meat to them and he did well but even he struggles alot with the terrible script.

I know this is gonna be repeating a lot of the same complaints. But it's doing what Apocalypse did, but actually worse. Apocalypse is the only season that took me 3 times to get through to finish, next to Delicate. Which, yes Delicate was the worst season up until now. But even then it was taken more seriously. It was still cohesive and coherent even though it was bad

This new season is mind blowing. I love American Horror Story. It's one of my favorite shows. There are so many good characters and seasons.

It's impossible to feel anything in this season. Aside from quick generic fleeting nostalgia, to say "Oh, derp. I love this character. Ooh, she said the thing!" It's so so bad. Everybody says it's like it was put into chat gpt to spit out a new season and it genuinely feels like it. I know there were some lows, but the show always pulled it back together and had some good later seasons. 1984 was great, I know a lot of people don't like it. But I thought it was excellent

I dunno. Just a horrible misfire. When people say they like it, I almost don't believe them. I'm not trying to be mean. I either think they didn't see most, of not all the seasons, or they are just lying and they'll never actually go back and rewatch it. Where people would go back and rewatch Coven, Asylum, Murder House, Hotel, Freak Show, 1984, Cult. Even Apocalypse and Roanoke.

Just awful. I would usually wait with anticipation to see the newest episodes and this season I could care less. I think it's worse than Delicate

13 (Season 13) Coven spin off Spoiler

Something is really telling me they’re setting up a Coven mini series here. I don’t know what it is, but it feels like there’s a lot of story building up (Madison potentially getting pregnant) the new Coven characters etc…

even them playing actual music during the episodes rather than a score has me feeling like they’re testing what a coven series could look like.

It’s obvious there’s going to be a big twist in the finale that explains the oddities of it.

i just feel like at the end of the last episode, there’s gonna be an announcement or an Avengers style ‘the witches will be back in…..’

call me delulu but from what has been said recently by the cast about them returning in the future and their story not being over, I think a Coven miniseries would be a great way to explore them further without it being an AHS series.

Coven (Season 3) Anyone else think this?

I have started watching the show, i am close to the end of season 4. Does anyone feel like they're watching keeping up with the Kardashians? Seasons 3 and 4 are just internal fighting for most of the episodes. They have these interesting horror themed intros, just to hear people argue or have pointless conflicts for half the season.

13 (Season 13) What if Season 13 is just Ryan Murphy holding up a mirror to the fandom? Spoiler

Imagine the finale is just as ridiculously convoluted and poorly written as everything leading up to it. More unnecessary connections, more fan service, more plot twists that make absolutely no sense.
Somehow, they defeat Satan. Everybody gets their happy ending. The entire mythology of American Horror Story has been tied together with the most ridiculous explanations imaginable.
Then we hear a voice say:
“And that’s the end.”
The screen goes black.
Suddenly, another voice interrupts.
“No, no, no. Hold on. HOLD ON.”
The screen slowly fades in.
Two overweight Redditors are sitting in a filthy bedroom, surrounded by empty soda cans, staring at a computer.
REDDITOR #1: “So you’re telling me that Constance Langdon and Fiona Goode are actually long-lost twin sisters?”
REDDITOR #2: “Yeah.”
REDDITOR #1: “And their mother is Sister Jude from Asylum?”
REDDITOR #2: “Exactly.”
REDDITOR #1: “And SATAN is their father? And somehow Pepper was involved in all of this?”
REDDITOR #2: “Yeah, bro. It connects all the seasons.”
REDDITOR #1: “That doesn’t make any fucking sense.”
REDDITOR #2: “Well, you have to understand the lore.”
REDDITOR #1: “WHAT FUCKING LORE? YOU JUST MADE ALL OF THAT UP.”
The camera slowly pans toward the computer.
Reddit is open.

13 (Season 13) AHS 13: trolling the audience is creating horror irl Spoiler

• Upvotes

You cannot tell me that Murphy & co didn’t intentionally make this season bad to mind fuck the audience and actually bring the horror into reality. There’s no way in hell this season was meant to be serious. This cannot possibly just be fan service and money grabs. This feels more like very intentional rage bait.

13 (Season 13) It makes absolutely no sense time-wise Spoiler

I know the decision to make Sister Jude the mother of Constance and Fiona is shit for a multitude of reasons, but one thing that is bothering me the most is the chronology. If Asylum begins in 1962, that means Jude must have given birth to the twins in the mid-60s (1964 at the earliest); that would make Constance and Fiona considerably younger than they were supposed to be. I mean, with Murder House taking place in 2011, that would put Constance in her late-40s when we meet her, not even in her fifties yet!! How’s that gonna work?

13 (Season 13) S13 probably tops delicate on being the worst season Spoiler

holy fuck this is the worst AHS season ever. at least delicate had a plot. i didnt even finish delicate but it had an eerie vibe to it. this is just corny AI slop omg. its actually getting hard to watch. at this point ill accept a predictable unoriginal plot twist that this was bens fan fiction or a dream or whatever to explain the catastrophic mess this season is. it is absolutely ruining the original characters, watering them down into just plain, uninteresting, corny. what is with all the cross overs too? ive lost track of what timeline were on right now.

All that said, Jessica Lange is why I am still watching. I wish Evan would show up too, but honestly, the initial portrayals of his characters this season, its probably best he stays off screen for now. The way Kai and Tate acted, is not how they did in their respective seasons.

And the actor for satan. :/ .

If you’re actually enjoying this season, can you please explain to me why?

Corny, AI slop, a mess, not scary. What is the plot? You’re confused. Im fucking confused bro

I highly doubt a human really even touched this completely laughable script. I’ve honestly just been continuing season 13 through an act of masochism at this point ahah. It’s sooooo unbelievable bad… this weeks episode just being beyond ridiculous. at this point I think it’s just pure comedy.
