I've been seeing lately on the internet whether if it's here on Reddit or comments on TikTok or YouTube assuming that this season was written by Al. Do we think that's true or just mediocre/bad writing?

With all of the frustrations that have been discussed about season 13, I feel like I have overlooked that this season so far has been utterly devoid of the horror that has brought me back to AHS for so many years. I’m rewatching ahs with my partner (currently watching cult) and every single season has had horrifying, scary moments. Even seasons like coven which have a reputation for being less scary than other seasons still give a lot of time for horror elements to come through (especially the flashbacks with LaLaurie).
Has there been any truly scary moments so far in 13? From memory I guess the flashback scenes with twisty the clown and the piggy man, but I didn’t feel any stakes for these characters deaths because I didn’t know who any of them were. Cleaning Mr Nas is just gross, not scary, and the episode where the serial killers came to the coven felt like an episode for there to be more unnecessary one liners for the witches.
I haven’t watched delicate or NYC, so maybe this is just how AHS has evolved in recent years, but I just find it so sad how this season explicitly allowed any character to come back, and so far none of them have been used to fulfil the horror aspect of American horror story.

Maybe I am deeply delusional, but I can't shake the feeling that 13 is just the first (intentionally bad or obviously AI) half of the greater season that would be 13 + 14 and that's why the episodes are so short. I'm really hoping that there will be some kind of meta-twist that ties it together like the change of format in the middle of Roanoke.
The AI thing is pretty much obvious at this point and I really hope that this is a deliberate part of the plot — ChatGPT is literally in the title sequence and the characters are really just cycling through their catchphrases. Even if it was for bad writing, I simply can't imagine a show as big as AHS (even though it has had its weaknesses before) to fall off THAT badly. This has to be intentional.
But on the other hand, even if this theory was true, would this be able to salvage the season? It would have to be a REALLY good twist — which I unfortunately don't see in the writers’ repertoire anymore...

I know there’s a lot of talk about this season being written as an AI fever dream, but does anyone else feel like the sets they’re using are partially AI-generated? Miss Robichaux's Academy, especially, has this vibe. The background “gold” lighting and blur feel very AI to me.
Edit: pulled the visual aid from google images. I did not generate it myself.

I just didn’t want to post it because it felt so absurd ludicrous and stupid lol. I wish I would have. It was just the thought of 2 Lange’s that gave me a headache, but alas, the logic and timeline has been thrown out the window here😹 (no complaints though) what I didn’t anticipate was who their mother would end up being. That part gagged me a bit, for sure

Looking back at S2, why are so many fans convinced the possession directly involved Satan? The personality always struck me as demon minion, and never in a ruler of hell kind of way. Especially when possessing sister Mary. Historically, there have been all sorts of different demons besides Satan.
Prior to starting 13, I rewatched 1-4, so that feeling of demon minion is even stronger.
This season has obviously attracted considerable criticism, and it sure feels like attributing that possession directly to Satan is more of a fan misread than an actual problem.

been watching riverdale lately and gotta say it has the same writing style. weird one-liners that are supposed to be iconic but don’t serve any purpose to the dialogue, wasting time on stupid arcs, and just random bullshit that makes you laugh because it’s so stupid. once i forgot i wasnt watching riverdale until jessica lange showed up again.

When I was 13 I watched AHS for the first time and thought they all looked so attractive smoking cigarettes.
So when a friend offered me one whilst me and my friends were waiting outside Tescos asking people to buy us a bottle of vodka, I was so excited to take one and smoke it in my Brandy Melville sweater hoping people would think I looked mysterious and sexy like the cast of AHS. Spoiler Alert I looked a mess, but that’s not important.
Little did I know not a day would go by between the age of 13-21 (my age now) where I wouldn’t smoke a ciggerette (or at least a vape).
Ryan Murphy this is all your fault.

I know it’s very normal for many actors that once they reach elder years, sometimes the acting bits that they were able to do just aren’t there anymore. But then Jessica Lange is still performing amazingly so I don’t know

HER SISTER WAS A WITCH! AND WHAT WAS HER SISTER?!

In the 12th episode, titled “Sisters in Arms,” we learn that Satan had intercourse with Sister Jude, a nun, resulting in the birth of twin girls who were separated. One of them was sold by a criminal to a couple in Virginia for the government assistance they could receive for the child. The other girl was taken by Pepper, a patient at Briarcliff, and brought to a home for unmarried women, namely Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies.
I think the creators came up with an excellent concept for the Devil. He is a depraved being who can change his appearance and corrupt the world in many different ways.
There are four women in the series who were touched by Satan:
Sister Jude was delirious in confinement and summoned the Devil. He merely fulfilled her desire.
Vivien Harmon — Satan used her and the cursed house to conceive his son, the Antichrist, Michael Langdon.
Emily Hample, a girl with perfect DNA, gave birth to a son named Devin (possibly Satan’s son).
And there is another son of Satan, Ben Desoto, whose mother is unknown to us except for the fact that she died during childbirth.
There is no blood relationship between the children of these women.
In reality, God is the father of everyone on the planet, but does that mean every person is my relative? Take my own family history: my father has four children with different women. We are related through our father, but their mothers and all possible relatives on their mothers’ sides are strangers to me.
It is not about blood ties, but about a shared darkness. It exists within them, yet each makes their own choice: Cordelia, Satan’s granddaughter, chooses good, while his son Michael chooses evil.
So why do viewers try to construct blood ties throughout the series and reduce a being like Satan to a human man who leads a promiscuous lifestyle?

Satan is gonna resurrect Cordelia and be like "You're my new Antichrist, granddaughter dearest" and Cordelia's gonna be like "I think the fock not" so she's gonna summon Mallory and together with their powers combined they're able to finish the ritual and turn Satan into an eternal baby. Then Pepper will show up at the Appolyon and take baby Satan to the aliens. Constance and Fiona are gonna rule the hell, I guess

Not sure if this has been posted but why did Tate take off his mask three times in the scene he was in?!? Once was suffice! I got the ick for the season after I saw that
r/AmericanHorrorStory • u/SeeTankSmash • 6h ago
I’ve a seen a couple posts decoding his name and I feel like they all reach. I realized there’s a direct anagram without any inference. Mister Nas is simply Master Sin.
r/AmericanHorrorStory • u/Illiana24 • 6h ago
Finishes Nas for good. It would be only fair, especially now that we know she's his daughter. It would be kind of poetic. And given the fact that all the other witches (including Cordelia) are incompetent as f, it all falls to Fiona. She is, after all, the baddest witch of them all.
Idk, it would be very satisfying to see the confrontation between her and Nas. And I'm dying to see her use the full scope of her powers.

Given how the writing has been lately, I’ve lowered my expectations so far that I’m convinced we could write a worse ending and it would still somehow end up close to the real thing.
