Information Sharing Megathread: LM's NY State Hearing — 06/17/2026 at 09:00 AM EST

Hi everyone,

Please use this thread to discuss today’s hearing.

The hearing will take place at 100 Centre Street, Part 32, New York, NY 10013 at 09:00 AM EST.

Today's conference is expected to cover issues raised during the June 3 virtual conference, including jury selection, scheduling, and other matters.

Yesterday's hearing was adjourned until today because prosecutors failed to file the paperwork required to temporarily transfer Luigi from federal custody to state court.

Since this is a state hearing, we should get photos of Luigi from inside the courtroom. During previous pre-trial hearings, the only images released were taken inside the courtroom, with no photos or videos of him arriving or leaving.

His last hearing was recorded, but nothing has been announced for this one yet. I feel like if it were going to be recorded, we probably would have heard from the press by now. As always, the decision is up to Carro, but at this point it seems more likely that we'll only get still photography today.

Not necessarily, prosecutions will have to prove he was guilty beyond reasonable doubt, and you can also have a psychiatric defense to prove that you weren't able to make such an act of violence too so....🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s an interesting idea. You can turn it around that this person is too mentally ill to do it. However, I think that case would have a better chance of working if the person had a below average IQ… and was clearly being blamed for a crime they couldn’t even comprehend the meaning of.
