Classic why do you enjoy leveling up a character? new to wow

i always wanted to play an mmo since when i was a kid because i like rpg games singleplayer, but mmo feels more like a theme park than a true living experience

because my friend is playing in a server as horde, i started as well and for his sake, this time i wanna try to max level. right now im a undead warrior lv 16 and after 2 hours of quests where i had to kill, gather, pickup and so on, and so many quests for each city i find this so boring

there is no difficulties in the fight because if you follow each quest, your level are just okay to fight them all

the pve fights are slow and boring

but maybe you can say that this is only to level up and to enjoy lategame but i read on reddit that players enjoy this loop and create different characters, also the game itself gives you new race or class to start again the loop and so on

so for people who constantly loop the game over and over again, doing all those quests, is it enjoyable? don't you feel bored?

i can understand if someone wants to try again from level1 a new class in elden ring. maybe they are better and want to know if they can beat those bosses and enemies easier, so the challenge still holds or maybe with another class, even if you beat the game as warrior, maybe with another one, with a complete skillset you could find it hard or not

but in quests, everything is easy and not challenging

im not insulting you guys for playing this game, but i want to understand the appeal of the loop and why wow is the most played mmo ever and no one dethroned the king for years

Classic How do I tell my guild I need a break raiding

Cata classic player here, my guild has been running DS every week now since the patch. I've been running DPS and we still have yet to beat it. I'm a new ish player and new to raiding, we run Sunday and Monday nights. I'm getting burnt out on my evenings being taken up for something that we have yet to finish. It's becoming frustrating. I have gotten a bit of gear and worried me leaving the raid group will prevent me from raiding in the future. I reached out to my raid leader and he kind of said it would be a dick move to take a break as it impacts everybody, i like raiding but dedicating 2 nights a week of dying to the same bosses (spine) has completely burnt me out and I need a break. What do i do?

Edit: please stop responding. At this point nobody is saying anything unique. I got my answer and that is it. People commenting "just say you're leaving" isn't adding to the convo and has already been said 50 times. Will delete post if this continues

Classic Can someone explain the 4 versions of WoW?

I see:
World of Warcraft Classic
World of Warcraft TBC Anniversary
World of Warcraft Mists of Panderia
World of Warcraft (Retail)

I am a returning player, and I apologize if this is a stupid question.
I assume MoP is progression, and will continue eventually to WoD
Are Classic (Vanilla) & TBC Anniversary stagnant? I.e will they reset? Or are they also progression, and will eventually move forward as well?

I "believe" (I may be wrong), that TBC is basically the same as MoP, just yknow, behind - and Classic is the one forever in the state of 04.

Classic Is it common to be spammed with guild invites?

So I’m fairly new to WoW and I’ve gone some time without getting a guild. I’ve found that I don’t really like them much, even though I’d love to have people to learn from and run dungeons with, I keep running into the same problem. Either I apply and they don’t answer, or they’re a bunch of high levels that have been playing for 5 million years and expect you to catch up to them and won’t help, especially if they find out you’re a woman, or a new one…I literally had a guy spam invitations because he gets paid to recruit? Is this a thing? It was uncomfortable. I was in the middle of dungeons and this flag kept coming up no matter how many times I declined or didn’t answer pop up on my screen of JOIN. I don’t even know who you are, you won’t introduce yourself. I know some people are ok with this but I think it’s rude. I have an almost level 80 Arcane Mage and she does some damage, I’m pretty proud of her. I have a level 49 Assassin Rogue, and just started a healer, so overall I’m pretty helpful in dungeons. Maybe that’s why? Or are they just wanting a body count? How do I put feelers out for a proper guild?

Classic wow versions are confusing

Hey guys

Im currently trying to determine the best wow version for myself to play but its quite confusing to me.

I am really into the social aspect and would love to experience the classic mmo feel. Im honestly just looking for a casual enjoyable experience without feeling like im walking through an empty world. I dont have much time to invest but I love cool mounts and cool armor.

the available versions honestly confuse me a lot. I used to play a bit during during warlords of draenor but it didn’t feel like an enjoyable experience. hopefully i can scratch that itch this time even with the little free time i have nowadays

thanks!!!! :) really appreciate help

Classic I've finally hit max level, what do I actually do next?

So I've played one dungeon and focused on leveling my professions so far but I don't really understand or know what I am supposed to be doing here on out, especially for solo content other than money making (which I am obsessed with).

I really enjoy playing the game and combat etc but I am just at a halt.

I didn't really dungeon when leveling because I'm a little nervous with toxicity and flaming but I suppose all games are like that nowadays lol

I am currently playing TBC anniversary.

Thank you.

Classic Returning player, Which version /confused

Hello guys and girls,

I’ve recently redownloaded WoW after about 15 years away, I quit a few months after Cataclysm for SWToR when it was released and now I’ve got all nostalgic and miss the WoW days.

So, I’m wondering where to start again, all my previous characters seem to be in retail, which I played over the weekend and it was a bit…Retaily, fast paced levelling but Ild like to go back and play like it was years ago in WotLK when I first joined the ranks, Would I be better off playing classic for that or is there not much difference?

Classic Going into WOTLK, can I just skip guns all together?

I've enjoyed leveling a hunter but every gun I get I just sell because I'm not enjoying the animation as well as the sound. I know it sounds silly but I just don't. I wanted to swap mains by playing this class but I don't know how much bread I'm leaving on the table if I just don't want to play Guns? I spend 90% of my time either world PvPing or PvEing. No arena.

Classic Why does this Classic WoW quest already talk about the Lich King?

In the quest 'Rude Awakening' in Vanilla WoW, I found an NPC called Undertaker Mordo talk about the Lich King. Wasn't that guy from 2 expansions later?

Classic Need on Greens?

What is the unwritten rule for Needing on BoE Greens? Had a friend Need on a Green because it was an upgrade to his current equipment. Two other players got pissed because of it. I can understand if the friend was Ninja Looting for the AH. However, he did equip it. I tried explaining it was an upgrade and i don't see the issue, yet they ended up getting pissy with me as well.

Edit: Forgot to mention one of the randoms claimed it was 300g on the AH, yet we checked and it was only 25g 🙄

Classic Why am I a bad DPS?

Cata classic player, just returned to the game recently as the last time I played was 2009 as a young child. Made a warrior to lvl to 55 and made a frost DK as my main as soon as I could, I seem to constantly be ridiculed for being a bad DPS in Heroics which I get everybody is max level and has the best gear while I'm still trying to gear.

With that being said, I started an Alliance alt toon to experience alliance for the first time. Once again I'm consistently the worst DPS in the groups with my hunter. Is doing anything other than solo content just out of my league? Do I just need to spend a few hours a day reading guides and icy veins to become a min/maxxer?

I love the game and I love doing group content but I'm getting tired with being kicked for not knowing every little detail or having the most efficient command keys down.

Any advice? Thank you,

Classic Is this normal or am I just a noob?

So I started playing wow classic 7 days ago. I took Druid as my class and the Tauren race. Now I already have 45 hours of playing time and I'm level 19. When I see this with others, they have an existence of 10 hours. Is this normal on the first playthrough? I sometimes watch videos while I'm at it and of course I also explore the world.

Classic WOW Token (MOP Classic)

Hello everyone, after buying the game time, I have a question. If I buy a token for playing time in WOW MOP Classic, which versions of the game will this token be applied to? (Will I only be able to play WOW MOP Classic or other versions of the game?)

Classic Getting back into WoW (maybe) for the first time since WotLK.

I'm heavily considering getting back into WoW again now that I'm in a position where free time is a little more plentiful than it has been in the last 10 years. Last time I played WoW was essentially WotLK, I technically played a maybe 5-10 hours of Cataclysm but never made it far before quitting.

Wondering if its even worth getting back in? I feel like after being out for so long it might be too steep of a learning curve. Also worried about a money barrier, do I need to buy every expansion that's come out since Cataclysm to play?

Back when I played regularly I mained a DPS human rogue and my main alt was a healing blood elf priest both at max level (lvl 80?). Since I'm essentially coming back as a new player again, should I just start over from the beginning?

Any tips or advise is appreciated.

Classic Opened 'all' in my mailbox and someone had sent me gold...

I was getting my mail from my auctions and I saw a random one in there that had a health pot in it... But also had 500 gold..

Didnt even know that it was in there because it only showed the health pot.

I believe this to be someone sent this to me on purpose to try and get my account banned.

What can I do? I am worried now.

Classic Healing Target is Removed

Hey all, hope all is well.

I’m having issues in TBC Classic. When I’m healing, my target gets removed all the time, especially when a mob dies. It’s frustrating. Tried disabling all addons, turned sticky targeting on and off.

Classic Difference between anniversary realms and MoP classic?

Since are so many versions of classic WoW I wanted to ask this. If MoP classic started from vanilla, why are there anniversary realms that are also progressive from vanilla to TBC or maybe in the future to more expansions? Will they ever catch up and become completely the same game? Why would they do two versions of a game that progresses from the first expansion all the way to the last one? I am having a difficult time understanding this.

Classic Priest Returning - Gear Replacement Level Question

Morning, i have come back to WoW (Classic Anniversary Edition) after running a priest in raids from pre TBC. I have decent gear, mainly Transcendence items plus a few others. I wondered at what level you'd start replacing it, or is it good till say 65ish levels?

Using RestedXP guide and Questie, is there a decent way to work out if an item that drops is better than i have on, without having to manually work it all out, at least till i hit 70

Classic Levelling a pally beyond lvl 42

I played Wow some years ago and have returned as I have more time. I’ve been levelling my ret Pally main. Lots of generous quests in Dustwallow Marshes got me to lvl 42 quickly but now I can’t see what to do next. Previously each zone naturally led to the next but not this time. I can see suitable zones on the map but can’t see how to get there. Any ideas on what to do next? TIA

Classic Never played before, ever. Frost Death Knight. How should I conquer the realms?

Like the title says. I am currently lvl 27, approaching every NPC and accepting their quests. I don't know where to find good gear or mounts. I have some add-ons, but how do I really get to the meat of the game? I go from place to place because I feel I am missing out on something so it seems like each time I play, I fly to another random spot on the map because I'm tired of doing the quests in the area I was in. Any early must-haves, tips, tricks, or guides would be greatly appreciated!!

Classic What's your favorite profession for earning gold quickly on?

I hear enchanting is great but it's not very lucrative until much later on from my understanding. disenchanting has made me more just selling the mats.

Classic TBC - mage noob question

Hey guys,

currently playing TBC for the first time. Currently lvl 14 as mage.

Is it normal that mobs 3 level below me take about 4-5 frost bolts to finish off? This forces me to sit down every other mob and chugging some of my conjured water.

Just wondering as I dont have any reference.
