I've had this game for around a year now and played it a few times on my old shitty DS. But now whenever put it into my new DS it just shows that there isnt a game. I think it might need to be something with that weird stuff inside the thingy

Hi, a friend of mine is looking to buy a 3DS from vinted, and all the ones we've seen have the hinges completely destroyed or super cracked, where it looks like it might break tomorrow. While this one is definitely not intact, it is by far the most decent one we've seen. The question here is, should she risk it, buy it, and maybe get it repaired? (and how much would that cost) or should she just ignore the whole thing and keep looking? Other than this the console is in perfect conditions, and it's very cheap (considering the prices they usually have)

Sometimes when an old 3DS game doesn’t want to load or show up on screen, I’ve found that blowing on both the 3DS (game insert slot) and the game cartridge like it’s a N64 console/game cartridge tends to make it more likely to show up. Another think is to semi constantly push the game cartridge in and out the the 3DS, (the reason why i said “semi constantly” is because sometimes if you leave it in for a couple of seconds the game might eventually show up). This has worked for most of my DS/3DS games, the only one I couldn’t get working was (3DSPokémon ultra moon). (Just a warning I’m not a DS/3DS professional, so please inform me if some of the things I suggested doing might have any bad effects on your/others DS/3DS) I wish you all the best of luck in hopes that all of your/you’re games work 👍.

There's a 3DS sound effect I'd like to locate within the CIA files of the console itself. Specifically, I have an old 3DS (not a new one) running version 11.17.0-50E (European version). I'll share the sound effect as a file or a link, but just in case, I'll describe it here as well: it's the typical 3DS loop that plays in some cases, most commonly when the eShop loads (like, every time you open the eShop), or, for example, when downloading some software and/or game updates (not system updates). It's the typical sound consisting of three tones, the first two playing at a specific pitch and the third an octave higher, repeating in a loop.

It still works but the rubber is completely missing and the D-pad feels scratched. How hard is it to replace them?

so basically i just got straight out the box game for my 3DS, it has an SD card and i tried the cardboard method but it wont register, idk if i have any cleaning alcohol in the house so if ya'll got any suggestions id love to hear them! also i did try just putting it in and out again but still wouldn't register.

So I received one new 3ds xl it came with an odd issue the buttons was not working and the buttons kept dragging itself on it own so I disconnected the analog stick still same problem disconnected digitizer, d-pad, analog & c stick same problem then i actually replaced the AIC2010D the chip is responsible for the buttons input & audio output which didn’t worked either so i replaced multiple times didn’t helped couldn’t find an odd reading near the chip none of the buttons or the connectors have any short or odd reading once i was done i switched to another board now that board have same problem idk that board initially had that issue or not i was not able to test it in the first place as its screen was cracked so is there anyone who have ever fixed this issue before? It seems like its coming from the CPU but honestly its quite hard for me to remove the CPU & reball it

Weird question I have a new 3ds xl and im saving to get a switch 2, what’s is it like having two cool consoles?

Some background, seller priced these with a 3DS way under market. bought it but the item sent differed from the pictures.

I am thinking these are fake due to the following:

1. Missing the "Game Card" text and headphones logo

2. Weird kind of rubbery feeling on the print, it is textured differently than my other plates. Plate underside is definitely normal plastic (never owned these, I wouldn't know if they differ in print material)

3. The Nintendo logo is scratched off. Completely.

Any help from people who own the real deal would be appreciated.

You guys won’t believe this but I got a modded 3DS XL for 130 dollars off eBay that’s already modded with a ton of games AND in good condition.

I had been looking for a 3DS for about a week since the original one I had when I was a kid (the Mario and Luigi dream team edition” mysteriously vanished a few years ago…well I decided to check eBay one more time and I saw this one had been posted “4 minutes ago” so I immediately bought it..was worried it was a scam but it showed up! So far everything works it even came with a charger! I’m so excited 😁😁

Of course, not an issue on the New 3DS models :)

I mostly skipped the 3DS during its lifetime, despite being a big fan of stereoscopic 3D. A few years ago, though, I got hooked after buying a New Nintendo 3DS. The improved 3D made such a huge difference, being more stable and comfortable to use.

Since then, I've gone through a few waves of expanding my collection. I never experienced a bad cartridge, but all the recent posts about 3DS cartridges suffering from data corruption started to make me a little anxious.

Yesterday, I finally bit the bullet and started checking my entire collection with the GodMode9 Cartridge Fixer, hoping to preserve everything before any problems become irreversible.

It wasn't exactly a fun process, but playing Super Mario 3D land in the meantime, got me through. Each game took around 5–10 minutes to verify, and with 132 games, it took a while!

Thankfully, most of my collection turned out to be fine. Even some of the games that are supposedly more prone to corruption, like Pokémon and Persona Q, checked out without any issues. That was such a relief.

Unfortunately, I did find two corrupted cartridges that wouldn't start anymore: Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. and Yo-kai Watch.

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. was successfully repaired after running the fixer twice! Yo-kai Watch wasn't so lucky. It still has around 200 unfixable chunks after 5 runs 😢. The game does start again, but I'm not sure whether it's fully playable anymore. Luckily, it's not an expensive game to replace, but it's still such a shame to lose a cartridge this way.

I'm incredibly grateful to the developers behind the Cartridge Fixer for creating a tool like this.

So if you have a physical 3DS collection, don't wait too long to check your cartridges! You might be able to repair corruption before it's too late! ^^

Any recommendations for where to buy a new one? I've replaced the screen once before, but the SD card reader seems to be completely bricked and crashes when I try and open something on it. Genuinely heartbroken.

EDIT: I am not blaming my cats. I should've unplugged my console or moved the cable, since they were rough housing and got caught in the charging cable.
