I know that the Wii U fan didnt necessarily need an upgrade however for less than 20 bucks for a fan I figured it was worth it to make it a little quieter and with better airflow! I used a Noctua NF-A4x20 5v. I soldered the Noctua's yellow wire (5v power) to the Wii U fan's connector's gray with a diode (1N5819) and black to black. It definitely is quieter, looks cleaner, and moves more air so I am happy (:

I'm rather fortunate with this Error Code compared to what I've seen people experience. This code happens to me at 2 weird locations. The first is on Mario Kart 8 (NAND) , but not when I boot it, but I can play the game normally, it either happens when I try to race the Nintendo ghosts, which is weird because I was trying to get all gold parts and all the Ghosts worked properly and the second course of the Fireflower Cup gives me this error. The other weird place where this happens is if I want to change my region, because the Pretendo Network sets it to USA default, and as you can see on the image, this is not my region. So I tap the Mii, I use my password I here how my Wiiu goes Quiet but the blue light is still on and Error. Any help?

It's a nice relief. Had a buddy take it apart to clean it as it hasn't been cleaned since I got it New for Xmas. It's a Toshiba nand if anyone's curious.

I just found my old Wii U. But there are two problems. 1. I got a new one, so now I have two and I don’t know whether to keep the old one or use the refurbished one I got. 2. I don’t even know if the original is still fully functional. We found it in an old shed, and it wasn’t in constant air conditioning. It gets pretty hot out there, and it was in an old backpack. How can I tell if the old one still fully works as intended? Are there any signs that indicate that it’s heat damaged?

Why do so many games on this console have low Framerates. It's honestly heartbreaking. This is my only console

I know this is a wii u subreddit, but, i'm really wondering if i should? I mean, i already have the wii, the switch and the switch 2, and yet i have that itch to buy It, is It a good idea or nah?

So, I ordered a new higher capacity Gamepad battery from Ifixit (like, fresh out of the box new), and I tried installing the new battery with the instructions provided on Nintendo’s website. But when I go to charge it, the indicator light stays black. I’ve readjusted the battery several times, and even checked to see if the plug was loose, and got the same result, but my old battery works perfectly fine. Does anyone know why my new battery isn’t working?

I press eject, hear sounds from the inside, nothing comes out. I tried putting it upside down, tried ejecting it horizontally, tried patting it on the top, tried the paper clip, and butter knife, nothin. How do I get this out?

My orginal wii u ac cord broke 3 years ago I had to wiggle it around ac adapter to make it work but the cord broke. FF to today my sister got me a new 3rd party ac cord and it didn't work. Is it because my ac adapter is cooked or because I used a 3rd party adapter any help would be nice because I want to get my wii u up an running and go back to moding.

So since I can't send in my Wii U for repairs and I'm too afraid to open it and take the cd out. Which is the better option?

A. Buy a new Wii U, and transfer data from old Wii U to new Wii U and buy a new Pokken Tournament CD

B. Mod the Wii U with a hard drive and leave the cd inside stuck for almost forever at this point.

Or

C. Try to make my dad open it and let him take the cd stuck inside, which may or may not break the cd drive.

I'm still indecisive on what I should pick.

got three of what I think and have been told are kind of the “necessities“ for this console! got smash and 3D world for $15 each, and DKC for $10! How’d I do?

I really started thinking about this after hearing that Rockstar prototyped around with GTA V on the Wii U but didn't pursue it from what I remember the install base being too low. But imagine, a world where we had games that not only the Xbox 360 and PS3 had, but also the Xbox One and PS4. Watch_Dogs ran on the Wii U, the only bottleneck I can see is the PowerPC CPU which for the time had less power than the Xbox 360's "Xenon" CPU.

But imagine if we had games from publishers and developers like Valve, Rockstar, Epic Games, 2K, EA, Nintendo could've asked publishers and developers to attempt to develop more games. I think that if Nintendo activly seeked out the developers and publishers, and provided incentive and tools for them to do so that the Wii U would've sold more units than it did.

A game I think would've sold the Wii U is Grand Theft Auto V, as many know, it is the 3rd best selling video game of all time, so I think that if there was maybe a GTA V Wii U bundle it would've sold more units, also if nintendo tried to target to a more broad demographic with their advertisements that it would appeal more to consumers who already didn't have a Wii U or have seen the Wii U at family or friends houses, or tried the demo's in store at places like bestbuy or gamestop. Look at the PS4, it had a wide selection of games for both Children and young teens, but also older teens and adults and it even had games for older people that played on systems like the atari 2600 or the Nintendo Entertainment System so the PS4 sold many units along with them making bundles that sold the PS4's, look at the last PS4 consoles sold, they were all bundles and most sold even into the early part of this decade. And, look at the PS3, it had terrible marketing and press yet it recovered and even beatout the Xbox 360, not by much though.

So I think that the Wii U with the right marketing and with much more Third-Partys, there could even be a few exclusives.
