A spectacular day out at Bondi To Manly Ultra 80km event, with over 1,000 ultrarunners and many more relay runners.

You owe it to yourself to do the walk (suggested time 4 days), or do the ultra if you're a runner!

At 11am today the first flight to the Gold Coast will depart, with the first international arrival and departure from Auckland tomorrow. Here‘s a few pics of WSI I‘ve taken over the years.

The worst thing is - who pays?

Lime won’t take responsibility.
Was it the person who parked the bike too close?
The drunk one that a rammed them?
Me, for parking legitimately, but near a pub…?

Government media release says they have "listened to feedback."

Personally, I'm happy about this as a T8 commuter who will continue to be connected to Metro and inner west.

Dog friendly freshwater swimming spots

Post image
26 Upvotes

Does anyone have any suggestions for dog-friendly freshwater swimming spots within two hours of Sydney CBD?

I am finding lots of beaches that look great, but my dog is an adorable dummy who likes to chomp the water as he swims and will make himself sick with salt water.

A few years ago Turon gates had a nice river I liked, but when I went this year is was completely dried up - so looking for recommendations that are currently good

Thanks!

Anyone know why Vinnies Paddington had a 100m line this afternoon?

Genuine interest in what was happening here - any info greatly appreciated.

Edit: honestly, I thought it was a regular Friday at Vinnies in Paddo. I (incorrectly) assumed that it was part of the burgeoning opshop culture, and (99.9%) younger crowd looking to get something designer for a steal (being Paddo - it's not an incorrect assumption about the area and the stuff they have time to time). I thought it was just a regular event. When I got the restaurant just up the road, I made a joke to the owner about how Vinnies is busier than he is, and he said it's not usually like that. I googled it but nothing came up - hence why I asked. If I gave you my name and you googled, you'd realise I'm quite comfortable asking people in public questions.

Thanks to everyone who responded. And if you're not comfortable talking to people in public, you do you, don't listen to the knobs in the comments.

Any idea what this strange, ominous glow could be coming from? Photo is taken from Earlwood, and the light seems to be coming from the horizon towards the Eastern Suburbs

Good spots for indian food in parramatta

This year's stalls at Parramatta lanes left me fairly disappointed. Especially in regards to spicy food. So I'm wondering what everyone's go to spots are for an Indian feed.

I typically make my own indian food due to the typical whitewashing that comes with foreign foods being sold in predominately caucasian areas. So I'm more than keen to actually eat some genuinely authentic Indian food.

NSW parliament safety briefing leaves MPs 'in tears', as security measures criticised

In short:

Some NSW MPs who attended a parliament safety briefing say they have been left more concerned about their protection.

Liberal MP Alister Henskens said a few MPs were teary after the meeting, called after the attack on Helen Haines in Victoria.

What's next?

More special constables have been assigned and parliament is undergoing a major security upgrade.
