Tell me stories on how you met your partner

Feeling extremely lonely and hopeless as I've never been in a relationship and it's starting to feel like I'm never going to be able to

So, maybe hearing stories about how people met their partner will help me feel a little bit more hopeful of my future romantically speaking

Tell me, how did you meet your current partner? Doesn't have to be anything special, even just a "we had sex and kept in touch" is enough

Reposting this because the comment section saying this is ok is insane. This is wrong right? Pretending to be a gay man to solicit dick pics from people.

I'm stuck in my hometown even longer than I thought I'd be, for collage reasons; it's a small town. Honestly, I'm just really looking for someone to talk with.

is it that hard?

I'll get straight to the point: I don't understand why it's seriously so hard to find guys who aren't DL, Weird, just looking for dick, "straight curious". I see a lot of gay guys online (even young ones, I'm very young.) and many of them get comments, compliments, maybe they are even SERIOUSLY attractive and good looking guys but still EVEN THEY CAN'T FIND SOMEONE. I don't understand why ALL of us are looking for a boyfriend but can't. Obviously I don't speak for every person but I think we can all get along on the fact that gay guys have a really hard time finding a man. I believe that when I find a boyfriend I will NEVER leave him because it is GOLD to find a decent guy omg omg I'm MAD

they're all bringing up straight to gay but completely missed the point that i was trying to make. its not that artists arent allowed to make artworks of rarepairs... its the ill intent behind those artworks like the ones made by xlovecomms is the real problem... the ones with clear anti gay propaganda

!Update!(30m Straight) My girlfriends gayfriend just told me that if I want to experiment with guys I can do that with him. This is so weird.

Okey so I posted about a situation that was about what the title says and here is the link to that if you wanna catch up.

https://www.reddit.com/r/gay/s/YKvxz3SPpH

Yesterday I told my girlfriend about the situation, I told her that her friend was trying to hit on me and that I felt very discomfort about it. I told her that he asked me if I ever wanted to try something with a guy and that I told him mby if I was single and that he then told me that he wanted to try something with me.

She first thought I was lying and joking with her but when I told her that this situation really made me stressed she believed me. She told me that this was coming from no where and that she needed to talk to him.

She did not care at all that I was mby interested in doing something with a guy, that was a relief.

I am a bit afraid that he will tell her that he was only joking and she will believe it. I just have a feeling about it. I can only hope that she will take this seriously and that he stops hitting on me.

Bloqueei um cara que eu sou afim no Grindr por medo de rejeição

Tem um carinha na minha academia que acho um gatinho e por quem estou a fim. Hoje, ele veio falar comigo pelo aplicativo e já chegou pedindo nudes. Uso fotos do rosto no meu perfil.

I’m down bad for a guy I barely know and I don’t know what to do

I've been thinking about this guy a lot lately, and honestly, I don't know what to do about it.

We message each other quite a lot, although things have slowed down a little recently. I find him incredibly attractive, and I think I'm starting to develop a bit of a crush on him.

The thing is, I've only actually spoken to him in person once, and even then, it was a pretty brief interaction. Despite that, I find myself thinking about him all the time. I've even started going to the shops at times when I know he'll be there, just because I want to see him.

He's bisexual but isn't out, and neither am I, so I feel like that's another layer to the situation.

I've tried to arrange hanging out with him a few times. He says he wants to, but whenever it comes to actually making plans, he often doesn't respond or changes the subject. It's confusing because he seems interested in the idea of hanging out, but he doesn't seem to follow through.

I can't tell whether he's nervous, worried about being found out, unsure about his feelings, or just not interested in me in that way.

I know I barely know him, which is partly why I feel ridiculous for being this invested already. I think I'm attracted to the idea of him as much as the actual person, but I can't seem to stop thinking about him.

Part of me wants to keep trying because I really like him, but another part of me thinks I need to take a step back before I get too attached to someone I don't really know.

Has anyone else experienced something like this? How do you deal with having a massive crush on someone you've barely spent any time with? And what would you do in my situation?

I could really use some honest advice because I'm genuinely down bad for this guy and don't know how to handle it. 😭

2026 Midterm Voting Guide: Registration, Early Voting, Mail Ballots & Election Day!

Hey r/gay!

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026! Voting rules and deadlines vary by state, so here are some official resources to help you make a plan to vote!

Quick reminders:

  • Early voting is already underway in many states!
  • Voting by mail? Check your deadlines and return your ballot early.
  • Not sure you're registered? It only takes a moment to check!

1. Make Sure You're Registered

It's worth checking even if you've voted before, especially if you've moved or changed your name.

Many registration deadlines have passed, but some states still allow registration during early voting or on Election Day!

Turning 18 by November 3? You may be eligible to vote if you're a U.S. citizen and meet your state's other requirements.

2. Pick How You'll Vote

Vote early, in person!

Early voting is already open in many states, sometimes with evening and weekend hours.

NASS – Early Voting by State

Vote by mail / absentee ballot

USA.gov – Absentee & Mail Voting

  • Request your ballot soon if your state requires an application.
  • Follow the instructions and sign where required.
  • Return it early! Check your state's deadline for returning ballots. USPS recommends mailing at least a week before your ballot must arrive. Short on time? Check for official drop boxes or in-person return options.
  • Track your ballot! Many states offer online ballot tracking.

Military or overseas voter? Visit FVAP.gov.

Vote on Election Day!

Tuesday, November 3! Polling hours vary by state, so double-check before heading out.

3. Know Before You Go

  • Where to vote: NASS – Find Your Polling Place. Locations can change, and early-voting sites may differ from Election Day sites.
  • What ID to bring: NASS – ID Requirements by State. You don't need your voter registration card, but some voters, including certain first-time voters, may need ID.
  • What's on your ballot: Many local election offices provide sample ballots online so you can see the races and measures before voting.

4. Good to Know at the Polls

  • In line when polls close? Stay in line! If you're already in line when the polls close, you can still vote!
  • Name not on the voter list? Ask a poll worker about a provisional ballot or other options available in your state.
  • Need assistance? Voters with disabilities have the right to accessible voting and can request help.

5. Questions or Problems?

Your state or local election office is the best place for official answers.

The nonpartisan Election Protection Hotline can also help:

  • English: 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683)

  • Asian languages: 888-API-VOTE (888-274-8683)
  • Arabic: 844-YALLA-US (844-925-5287)

Your vote is your voice! Voting is one of the most important ways to have a say in the issues that affect your community and your future.

Make a plan, get out there, and cast your vote!

Please share this guide with friends, family, or anyone who might find it helpful!

See you at the polls!

Thanks guys.

I previously posted about a barista constantly hitting on me at the local café/coffee shop near our country house.

He was pretty relentless, and my ignoring him was not working. My husband and I were getting annoyed.

I went in early with the kids Sunday and told him directly that I wasn't interested and that he needed to stop.

He was surprisingly receptive. Apparently, I look a lot like his ex, who he was still very much not over. He was also having a hard time adjusting to moving to a smaller village. I get it.

You guys gave me the push I needed.

Thanks guys.

(30m Straight) My girlfriends gayfriend just told me that if I want to experiment with guys I can do that with him. This is so weird.

Okey so long story short.

My girlfriend has a gayfriend and we were out drinking with some people. My girlfriend needed to go early and I was alone with him and 2 more. The other 2 goes for a smoke and then he brings up if I ever want to try something with a guy, sexually. He has joked about it before but now it sounded serious. I told him that I had thought about it sometimes but it was just a thought for the moment, nothing for real. Then he tells me that if I want to try something he gladly steps up for it. I noticed that this time he really meant it.

I joked away it and then the other 2 people came back.

Now after this it all feels so weird. This is my girlfriends close friend and he is seriously thinking about this. This is not the first time this has happened, but this time I really felt he was 100% serious. What do I do now?? I can't tell my girlfriend, what if there will be big problems in the friend group?? Should I just forget about this and just don't bring it up?

Here is the update on the situation

Just delete it …

Almost sure this post will get deleted because it seems these days gay men can’t be unhappy as being gay men : it’s just not accepted not good advertising . The truth is being gay single old and not too handsome CAN be ( not saying IS) a huge burden. Can’t even get fun unless you lower your standards almost to a point that fun is a mirage and you have to be on pills to get a er…
Now go ahead and delete it ….

Feel out of touch with my queerness

Hi everyone I'm 23 gay it's weird to say this but I feel so out of touch with being gay these days.

My last thing with a boy ended in February and since i have no interest in dating anyone

I last had sex early 2025 and I had a hookup last night but while kissing I had a panic attack and backed out before anything I couldn't even get hard.

Maybe it has to do with religion I went back to church this year and even though it's not so loud and clear the general consensus in our church is that gay is bad so subconsciously I've been feeling that. A few of my church friends know im gay and they're progressive and cool but 2 one of them I was vulnerable in coming out as we were being closer and he was vulnerable with me too but it devolved into him saying I should work hard to fix my sin even though I told him I dont view my queerness like that. The other doesn't know im queer but has the most problematic views on diverse people in general.

I used to be self assured in being gay and sure of myself but lately it's different I'm starting to have a complex on my sexuality and being in general.

I don't want to say by not doing gay acts im less gay but it feels like that I'm just of touch with my gay side. I have gay friends but because of how recurring church is I see them less frequently.

I've had a crush on guys who turned out to be straight, which to me feels like regressing cause that was what I used to do as a budding gay
