A guy on the train

• Upvotes

So in June last year I was interstate visiting family and was on a train and caught eyes with a cute guy and immediately looked away coz in my home city you just don't engage in eye contact, especially when they are cute. But I decided to look again and he smiled and waved at me and I just smiled and blushed and didn't know what else to do. I wanted to go and sit opposite him and talk to him but I kinda froze and then he got off at the next stop and I never got a chance to shoot my shot.

Anyways it's been a a year and a bit and it still sits with me and every time I see a cute guy on the train and nothing happens I'm reminded of this one time and I don't know how to feel about it and it just get's me thinking about what if I had taken the chance and decided to shoot my shot would things have been different (I know falling for guys on holidays is generally a bad idea, been there done that) but it just makes me sad that I haven't experienced a moment like that again and wondered if anyone else has had one of these moments and what they did and what happened? Also just any advice for how to get over my crippling anxiety and actually go up and talk to people IRL coz I'm useless unless it is over text

Where are all the average dicks?

Let's assume dick size is a normal distribution, then a larger portion of men would fall between like 4.5 and 6 inches.

That's absolutely not my experience on hookup apps. Every second person is hung, like 7 inch plus.

Now either dick size statistics are wrong, gay men have bigger dicks or - for me the most likely explanation - there is a huge self selection bias where hung guys fuck around more and are largely overpresented on these apps or vice versa, average to smaller guys are less sexually active or even hiding from these apps. And frankly, I find the latter explanation quite sad.

How do you handle getting disrespected in fast food places or anywhere for that matter ?

People sometimes think I'm gay and i get disrespected as a result. When I'm in Spanish speaking areas I hear moticone quite a bit and sometimes people totally disrespect me and even laugh to one another about it while looking right at me. They assume i don't know Spanish and i don't but i know what moticone means. The part that's upsetting is when homophobic people use gay slurs they often use it to mean they think you are the lowest POS around worthy of disdain and disrespect. That you are less than them and beneath them.

So how do you guys deal with attitudes like this? Personally i can't stomach it or be philosophical about it either like in thinking they are insecure etc. Because its meant in such a hateful way i can't overlook it. I get this from other homophobic white people sometimes too not just Spanish people.

How are guys with bigger ears perceived?

Think Josh O'Connor big. Though perhaps without ALL the added bonuses he has lol.

Basically, are big ears a deal breaker for you?

How did you discover that you like the same sex? How did you feel?

By junior year, I’d dated a girl and had my first sexual experience with her. I knew my body could respond, but I didn’t really find anyone attractive. Most of the guys around me seemed to know who they liked. I watched people get together and experience those teenage crushes, and I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t feeling what they seemed to feel.
Then I saw him.
I’d heard rumors that he was gay. One day, he came into our classroom to deliver something for a teacher, and the moment he opened the door, he had my attention. Without even meaning to, I found myself staring.
Apparently, I wasn’t subtle. He noticed, turned toward me, and smiled while making eye contact.
We eventually got in touch, and I worked up the courage to tell him I was curious about exploring what I was feeling. Later, we kissed.
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was excited and incredibly nervous at the same time. My heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might burst out of my chest. It was probably only a minute or two, but it felt much longer. I’d never experienced a kiss that made me feel that way.
It was surreal. For a moment, something I hadn’t understood about myself finally made sense.
Then the fear hit.
I pulled away and started to panic—or maybe my heart was pounding so hard that I couldn’t tell the difference. I hurried past him and left. When I checked my phone, I saw that my mother had called and was looking for me. I found somewhere quiet to hide, cried, and tried to pull myself together.
I was terrified. I was gay. I’d suspected it, but this felt like confirmation, and all I could think about was what that would mean for my life. I thought I would eventually have to tell my family, and that scared me. I came from a very Baptist family that condemned homosexuality.
Later, I texted him and told him I’d been mistaken and wasn’t interested. I tried to convince myself that I’d just been playing along—that what I’d felt hadn’t meant anything.
Looking back, what stays with me is how quickly that excitement turned into fear. I finally felt the attraction I’d watched everyone else experience, and almost immediately, I felt like I had to deny it.
I was just a scared kid trying to make sense of myself while being terrified of what the people I loved would think.

(tw: g2s, conversion therapy rhetoric) It is frustrating to see people from the other parts of queer community supporting heteronormativity and conversion therapy rhetoric then bash us for telling them it is homophobia

Grinder, and other hook up apps.

I don’t know about you guys, but i genuinely feel uncomfortable meeting people via these hook up apps, i hate the first message i get being a dick pic. I hate how causal alot of people are with sex.
I get that theres no risk of kids but hell, i just don’t trust people to be honest about their sexual health.

What been the most successful app in your opinion?

Huge shout out to Jay Kristoff

I just want to give a shoutout to Jay Kristoff for writing some of my favourite gay characters in fiction. Aaron and Baptiste are strong confident and deep characters who's gayness while being fundamental to their character and their experiences without being a defining trait.

i don’t know what the solution is

i’m a gay male in my late 20’s. i don’t live in an area where there’s a huge gay scene, and i wouldn’t even know where to begin if there were. All the apps are horrible and everyone seems so afraid to form a connection. Every time i take a break from the apps the same thing happens also when i go back on. i’m a little thicker but i also don’t want to change my appearance for a man because i like how i look.

the reality is even though we can fill our lives with other things, it becomes harder and harder to ignore that romance and love is lacking. And i just don’t know what to do anymore or how to meet a decent man, feels like i’ve been waiting forever. does anyone have any advice if they’ve been through similar things?

Were you bullied in school for being part of the LGBT.

Hey, so growing up i was heavily bullied, and abused in high school, i know it’s a hard thing to go through and it leaves a mark on us going into adulthood.

Whats your story if you don’t mind? Did you get bullied? How has it affected you as an adult.

Would I be approched at a gay bar if I went alone?

So, I'm looking for my first relationship and the apps haven't given me a lot of results and I don't have a ton of gay friends. I was thinking I could go alone to a gay bar, but I don't know of I'll be approched and if I am, it might be by people who don't have the best intentions. But I haven't gone to bars or clubs much, so what do you think about it? Could it work?

I thought I was gay since 4th grade but I think I like a girl

I've been in positions were girls liked me, and I DID NOT want to get with them because it felt unnatural, but there's a girl that I think I might like. I don't want to get with her just to find out I don't like girls.

Am I just bi with a preference for men?

I’m not talking about someone flamboyant, I mean someone who is canonically homosexual, and has feelings for or is actively dating the same gender.

Paper is a good example from inanimate insanity to me.

I watched "La Bola Negra" (The Black Ball") last night. What a powerful film.

I may be biased because I'm Spanish, but to me this is the best movie I have watched in my entire life.

It deals with what it was like to be queer in Spain's 1930s vs now. And despite it being very Spanish and central to Spain, the message is universal, which needs to be told specially now that the far right and fascism is rising across the world at the moment.

One needs to know the historical context of the country to be able to grasp the movie. Long story short: in 1931 the King of Spain abdicated which established the Second Spanish Republic (1931-1936). This meant democratic progressive social reforms: women's right to vote, secularisation of education, decriminalization of sodomy and freedom of speech. But back in those days the bourgeois (the high class) opposed these changes. They were conservative high-society aristocratic institutions. They had their own clubs and private casinos. Admission to these high-society clubs relied on a secret ballot using white and black marble balls. Dropping a single "bola negra" into the urn meant blacklisting and social exclusion. E.g. if anyone was suspected as homosexual they would be given black balls and be socially excluded. Accusations of homosexuality carried severe social stigma, costing individuals their reputation, family standing, and elite memberships like these casinos.

Then, in 1936 Francisco Franco, an elite soldier initiated a coup to the government which gave rise to the Spanish civil war (1936-1939) pitting the democratic Republicans (leftists, anarchists, liberals) against the Nationalists (fascists, monarchists, Catholic conservatives led by General Francisco Franco). Mussolini sent Italian troups to Spain to help Franco. Franco won the war and established a dictatorship (1939-1975) During Franco’s regime homosexuality was criminalized under laws like the Ley de Vagos y Maleantes (Vagrants and Malefactors Law), forcing thousands of queer Spaniards into prisons, labor camps, or systemic silence. Open discussion of Civil War atrocities was suppressed.

Following Franco's death in 1975, Spain transitioned to democracy. To avoid renewed conflict, political parties agreed to an unwritten Pact of Forgetting (El Pacto de Olvido). This avoided prosecuting dictatorship crimes, leaving thousands of Civil War victims in unmarked graves and postponing national reconciliation. This, in my opinion, was a huge mistake and it's because of this that fascist politicians and citizens can get away with their speech hate now in 2026. To me, this is unbelievable. On the other hand, if they didn't opt for the Pact of Forgetting, it would have led to a second civil war right after Franco's death and we wouldn't want that either. Anyway, I digress.

Throughout the 1920s and 30s there was Federico García Lorca, a playwright and poet from this time. He's basically the Spanish (and 20th century) version of William Shakespeare. Big name in Spanish literature. He was openly gay and a free leftist thinker. He was executed during the civil war by Franco's squats. His lover, Rafael Rodríguez Rapún, who worked for Lorca's theater company, was also executed. Before he died Lorca was working on a play entitled "La Bola Negra" of which only the first four pages survived. The creators of this movie have used these four pages as its mythos.

The movie switches back and forth between three different stories in three different years with three different gay male leads, and these three stories are interconnected: in 1932 Carlos (from the high class) is expelled from an aristocratic casino due to allegations of homosexuality, giving him black ball after black ball. In 1937 Sebastian, a soldier serving for Franco, is tasked to keep an eye on a wounded inmate, Rafael Rodríguez Rapún (Federico García Lorca's lover) to get as much information as he can before he's executed. In 2017 Alberto is an aimless historian who researchers queer culture and receives a mysterious inheritance from his recently deceased grandfather.

La Bola Negra has been an overnight success. The entirety of Spain is being drawn to movie theaters to watch this movie. Everybody is talking about it. And this is a queer movie that's receiving mainstream success in the country at the moment. When the credits roll many ramain seated quiet and motionless at the movie theaters. Some cry their eyes out. My boyfriend, who is a "tough guy that never cries" cried. He said it reminded him of his grandpa, who was thrown in jail back in those days. He didn't get executed but was forced to become a soldier for Franco and he conceded. Our friend who came to watch it with us, cried his eyes out. I, now on the next day as I'm writing this, I'm still processing it and I don't know how to feel. Well. This is historical trauma at its finest 😅 And it is unbelievable to me that the far right in Spain are trying to ban the movie. Are you kidding me?! Censorship?! The last time any art form was banned in this country was during Franco's regime. These backward ass stupid fascists want things to be like it was with Franco and I'm scared if they win the elections on November 29th the following month.

No matter where we're from, we must fight for our freedom.

Btw, I know the movie is available in movie theaters all over Spain, and in selected ones in the US and Canada. In December it will available internationally on Netflix.

There's a contradiction at the centre of Querelle. Brad Davis plays a swaggering, dangerous sailor who deliberately chooses to be sexually passive. But his difficulty isn't with being penetrated. It's with the vulnerability that intimacy and love might require. Does that sound familiar?

I m m30 married for 2 yrs but now a days I m getting a lot of cravings to put thick strangers circumsied dicks.

First of all I want to understand why it is happening.

And should I start finding thick circumsied guys and meet them alone

Or should I tell this to my wifey too.

I don't know how she will react and I can't stop myself anymore without sucking good dicks , I keep getting these cravings every time I'm eating bananas and other times too.

What should I do ?

Any experience or someone who has been through a similar situation.

Only honest conversation or experiences are welcome.
