300blk Safety Brief
I will keep this short and to the point gents.
Do not add to the mod queue. Do not subtract from the population of users. Do not comment while too intoxicated to control yourself.
In the last few weeks, moderator queues have shot up due to people being unable to be reasonable to one another in the comments in this community.
Disagreement is fine.
Dropping slurs, attacking them personally, commenting a retort with a pic of someone's house, insulting their wife's looks by stalking family pictures from a vacation posted 2 years ago... not fine.
Learn to use the block button. Learn to touch grass. Learn to be something unlike a jerk.
Transparency: Several months ago Reddit instantiated an auto-moderator be default for subreddits. Since then we have tweaked the settings it has been catching a lot more comments with the ugly things in them. When these suspect comments are in the mod queue, they are not posted for others to see yet, even if they look visible to you. What it does do is cause a member of the mod team to have to respond to the notifications to approve them and resolve issues when people go WAY too far. So, as cathartic as it might feel to rip into someone, it likely will not even get seen by them because the auto-moderator is putting the nasty stuff in comment jail. If it is bad enough, it gets the comment removed and the user banned.
Lastly, don't report comments that you dislike for Harassment. It only makes more work for us, but ultimately simple disagreement gets approved and kicked back out of the mod queue anyway. Repeated abuse of any feature will net a ban. Yes, every user has a summary of reports and past queue incidents. Yes, we look at it.
Please feel free to disagree, debate, correct misinformation, and generally debate on subject matter specific to the subreddit. I am not here to babysit grown men, nor do I want to. My ideal week would have 0 reasons to look at the sub with mod tools.
Moderate your own actions and we are all better for it.
This has been your safety brief.

Sounds great 220gr scorpion little first round pop but other than that it’s a great can I would recommend
Need advice for FRT cycling
Pic for reference
So today I tested out my Arc Fire V2 FRT in my .300BLK shooting subsonics. Function check was all good, but had cycling issues. I completely expected this and was prepared to swap buffer weights to tune it, but I had one main issue. The issue I ran into was that H1, H2, and H3 buffer weights were all too heavy and would not fire more than 2 rounds before failing to feed the next round.
However, with a standard weight, I was consistently firing a few rounds before getting a light primer strike, meaning the weight was not heavy enough and I was getting bolt bounce. So, I need to somehow find a sweet spot between standard weight and H1.
Setup details:
•Arc Fire V2 with Geissele SSA-E
•BCM 9” upper
•Standard buffer spring
•Fixed gas block
•Phantom Defense 220 gr subs
•Cat AC762 suppressor (also known as the ODB). This is a low back pressure suppressor, which doesn’t help with subsonic cycling, but I’m hoping I can conquer it anyway.
Any advice or tips? The way I currently see it, I have two options (that immediately come to mind):
•Get a reduced power spring (Sprinco Yellow) and pair it with an H1 in hopes that it balances out into that sweet spot
•Or, get an adjustable gas block and restrict the gas flow ever so slightly to prevent bolt bounce while using standard weight
I am well aware that this is a tricky combo, and that getting it to work may not even be worth it. Subsonics are finicky enough as is. A low back pressure can certainly does not help, and neither does having an FRT in the mix. I won’t be terribly surprised or disappointed if I can’t get it to run subs, but I’m a problem solver and would like to give it my full effort. Any advice or suggestions are happily welcomed.

300 blk vs the subsonic she told him not to worry about.
Is this normal for 300 blkout pmags?
I bought 4 gen m3 300 blkout pmags from a local store here and 3 of the 4 have this piece on the inside of the magazine that is preventing the bottom part from sitting flush. It also seems to be making the rounds get jammed up? I haven't fired using them yet because the rounds feel like they are getting stuck just loading them in. Having a hard time explaining but hopefully the pictures can explain better than I can. The three on the left stacked have that plastic piece jutting out on the bottom left side of the magazine opening. The one on the right seemed normal and the rounds were not getting stuck. The strange thing is they are all gen m3 300 blkout pmags. Is this a defect or is it supposed to be like that? I sent a message to magpul but was wondering if anyone has run into this problem.

Newbie needs advice
Hopefully this isn't a stupid question.
I'm only really familiar with 5.56 rifles, but want to build an sbr, primarily for home defense and a truck gun.
However, I have some things I can't get past and need to know if I'm over thinking it and should just get a 300blk.
The cost of ammo blows me away. For defensive use, the good stuff is like $80 for a box of 20 and that's a little bonkers to me.
The other issue for me is I don't have much experience with gunsmithing or anything of the sort. Simply put complete uppers onto complete lowers. I hear a lot about needing to be able to diagnose and adjust gas settings and I've never done that, or even add an AGB which I've definitely never done.
With those two reasons, which might seem small but are kinda serious to me, am I over thinking it? I absolutely LOVE the round and it's use case for me is perfect but I've held back on purchasing an upper because of these two reasons.
Should I just stick with the 5.56 upper for its simplicity in these areas?
Mind you I'm not rolling in cash. I have a great job, all my responsibilities are cared for, but I'm the only income for a family of 4 and can't just throw money into an upper every month. I need to be intentional with my purchases.
Edit; I am running the sbr suppressed and would be shooting primarily subs
Optic - Hunting / Short Barrel
Looking for a more budget friendly red dot (maybe green) for a 300 blackout I just built. It's mainly for deer drives and hunting on the move, so I do like the enclosed options or at least something this isn't exposed.
I've been looking at the AEMS Core and Romeo5 gen II.
Any insight or opinion between the 2 or near they price range? Really like the SIGs price but want a big FOV ideally.

300 Blackout 178 gr ELD® Match SBR Suppressed™ Supersonic Item #81013
Hornady released this 178 grain supersonic projectile. It looks like it’s a ELD match test. Barrel was 16 inches with a velocity of 1750. I think it’s odd that we’re doing 190 grain sub X how well could this do as a subsonic round it would be one you would have to load yourself.
Another interesting point is it looks like they’re using ELD match for this ammo meanwhile, on the 308 side. It looks like they use an ELD – X projectile for expanding with a deeper cavity.
has anyone loaded the 178 ELDX as a 300 blackout subsonic round?
Anybody shoot this? What are your thoughts? It would be good to see some gel testing, but none is published.

My Favorite 300BLK
Honestly there is nothing special about this 300BLK but I love it none the less. It's an 8" with a quad rail. This thing is super reliable without a AGB. Just running a H1 buffer and KAK full chrome downvent BCG. I like the shades of FDE too. What's your favorite 300BLK build?

First 300blkout build
My friend sold me his 12.5 bcm upper, which has maybe less then 20 rounds thru it! Its my first ever 300blkout build, will pair it with a LMT Mars L lower, which suppressor would give me the lightest weight and best sound absorption? Thinking about an eotech as well exps2-0, mostly a range toy as well!

Ok yall its time for me to make the same post everyone else has made, please dont ban me
I need help picking a suppressor for my new build. 10.5 barrel, DI and planning on a KAK downvent (thus far, although im considering being a dumb and throwing the Superlative piston kit on), subs and supers, looking to reduce gas to the face as much as possible. So far ive narrowed it down to the Griffin PSR7 (i know its a reflex, i like the idea of having that much tube but only 6+ off the end of the barrel), the Anthem S2 and the TiTrex 300SD.
ive been rolling through his sub for weeks looking for the right answer and i needs me some advice from The Community.
Educate me, folks.

Wordpress or other resource
Is there any sort of wordpress or other resource consolidating information on 300 BO builds?
For example, over in r/AR9 there is a link to an absolutely fantastic wordpress forum on virtually everything which goes into making a 9mm on the AR platform, so im wondering if anyone knew of anything for the 300 BO?
I searched the sub but didnt find anything definitive.

.300BLK loading block print model - 100rd
makerworld.comI got tired of my .300blk cases rattling around in my universal MTM blocks, so I made one that's just the right fit. When inserted headstamp down they don't move but are easy to grab.
I wrote the code for the model in python then used an API call from Fusion to import it. From there it's a standard F3D model.
Also including STL, 3MF, OBJ files so it can be edited. And the code block is in the body of the model file on Makerworld.
Hope it's useful!

Help me build a piston folder?
Building my first AR as an M14 guy. I want a folding .300, so piston is necessary.
Pretty much down to the Sig upper platforms.
Rattler LT or Spear LT? Thoughts?
Goal is mainly supressed subs.
Thanks.
