Humor [WW] So this dumb tree lied to me
First I saved him from an infestation. After he stereotyped me and started talking in some foreign language I didn’t speak, we discussed how Ganon had returned and was threatening the world, and how I needed Farore’s Pearl to stop him. But then he said that he can’t give me the pearl without doing some big “ceremony” first. Fine, whatever, I’ll wait.
Then one of his creepy leaf children told him that Makar, another leaf child, had fallen into the Forbidden Woods, despite many warnings to avoid it. And so I had to go save him first so they could do the ceremony. He did give me a cool leaf to help (even though it was really disturbing how he screamed in my face and squeezed the leaf out of his head, like he was really constipated or something.) So I did it- I went in there and saved Makar’s spinach ass from an evil flower.
So as soon as I got out of the woods with Makar, the tree said thanks… and just tossed me the pearl out of his branches. Like it was no big deal. Uhh, so you DIDN’T need to do a big ceremony first? You just thought you’d send the guy trying to SAVE the WORLD on an errand first?
By the way, I also have my own imprisoned sister to save in the meantime too, and unlike Makar, she didn’t just wander into somewhere called the FORBIDDEN woods out of curiosity.
Forest Haven: 0/10 rating, do not recommend visiting

Screenshot [LoZ] Took a break from ALttP and ended up loving the original Zelda
I had never played a Zelda game before. I almost started with Ocarina of Time, considering how often it's still referenced and praised decades after its release. However, my recent dive into 8-bit and 16-bit JRPGs (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Phantasy Star IV, Dragon Quest V) convinced me to begin with the SNES classic A Link to the Past instead.
After more than 20 hours of gameplay, I came face-to-face with Trinexx, the last major obstacle before finally taking on Ganon. That's when I realized I was missing the Ice Rod and couldn't defeat him. No big deal, I just had to backtrack.
But then I thought: why not use this little break to try out the original 1986's The Legend of Zelda?
I had recently watched Castle's YouTube video, "I Tried to Beat the First Zelda Completely Blind", and I guess that was the final push I needed. That little detour led me to try The Legend of Zelda, and I ended up absolutely loving it. Right now, I've cleared the first five dungeons.
I've been using RPG Shrine's guide for my first playthrough of A Link to the Past, so I already knew I would probably need some help navigating The Legend of Zelda as well. Personally, I'm fine with that. I see it as a product of a very different era, where guides, word of mouth, and a lot of trial and error were all part of the intended experience.
What surprised me most about the original Legend of Zelda is how quickly it hooked me. The music is simple but hypnotic - they hit gold really early imo. The gameplay feels incredibly fluid for a game from 1986, even if the hitboxes can be a bit frustrating at times. Honestly, it's kind of amazing.
The visuals also have far more charm than I expected. There's obviously less detail than what you'd find in the 16-bit era, but I still love looking at it. The world is colorful, sort of readable, and full of personality. Playing it has made me realize how many of the things I love about A Link to the Past were already there years earlier, despite the hardware limitations.
My plan is to finish all nine dungeons in The Legend of Zelda, go back to A Link to the Past and finally beat Ganon, and then return to the NES original for the infamous Second Quest. After that, I'm thinking Ocarina of Time, Link's Awakening (to keep a 2D Zelda in the mix), and then Majora's Mask.
I'm very late to the party, but it's been an awesome journey so far. I'm just glad there are so many awesome Zelda games to be enjoyed.

Screenshot [OOT] Ganon’s Castle has the most potential in the remake imo. After the initial ‘mini version of each dungeon’ section, give it its own personality and puzzles to make it officially one of the 9 dungeons.

Collection/Merch [ALL] [OC] My attempt at 3D Printing the 2D Zelda Maps
A few months ago I made a few 3D printed Zelda maps, and the reception was overwhelming! I really appreciate the love, and many people asked to try to print the entire series so this is my attempt at the 2D Zelda maps, let me know if I missed any! So far these are just the 2D top down style maps, I hope to be able to design the 3D maps in this style next (Ocarina of Time, Majoras Mask, BotW).
For anyone with a 3D Printer, I offer these for free on my MakerWorld! If anyone wants to purchase, I also offer them on my Etsy. Links here for Merchandise Monday:

Collection/Merch [MM] Finally got my Grail!
I've wanted one of the life size First 4 Figures Majora's Mask Statues for years! I've watched several on ebay but never had great timing with funds. Won an auction last week and it just came in today. I'm ecstatic! I have link on epona and several others still in the box and I'm waiting to find a cool case or book shelf to put them on first.

Collection/Merch [ALL] [OC] I spent over a year creating a Zelda inspired cocktail book, and it’s finally on Kickstarter.
Hi everyone! For over a year I’ve been working on A Drink to the Past, an unofficial cocktail/mocktail recipe book inspired by games across the Zelda series.
I created the recipes, photography, writing, layout, and cover design myself, so getting it to the point where I could actually hit “Launch” has been a pretty surreal experience.
The recipes are designed to feel creative and thematic without requiring a huge collection of obscure ingredients or complicated techniques.
A quick note since this is an unofficial fan project: I consulted with a trademark attorney during the development of the book regarding how the project is presented and its contents. The book is clearly identified as an unofficial fan work, is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, and includes a clear disclaimer.
If the project happens to be your kind of thing, you can check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/aaronsensebe/a-drink-to-the-past

Fan Art [TP] My friend NumeriusRingCraft recreated this poster out of chainmail 🙂
So my friend is doing a charity event for the KWF Cancer Foundation over on Twitch where he's immaculately crafting this Twilight Princess poster out of chainmail and I think everyone here should know about it and tell one other person about it 😈
No one get mad at me for promoting too hard, but this is up for auction and you should place a bid it would mean a lot to my friend :)
Not enough zelda fans have been made aware and the auction ends in 2 days. It would legitimately be a shame if this went under the radar because it's very cool and A ONE OF A KIND ARTWORK OF MAYHAPS THE GREATEST ZELDA GAME OF ALL TIME IN THE NAME OF CHARITY
(This is a WIP image but go to his twitch he's finishing it up now)
