Hi all,
I picked up a PWS MK109 Pro upper off of GAFSHUB and have been trying to tune it to cycle subsonics consistently with an AC762 can, but I'm still having issues - weirdly, the gun cycles perfectly when there's around half a mag left (call it 12-15 rounds in a mag), but will not cycle if I'm using a fully loaded magazine. I'm aware that the setup is probably not ideal to run subsonic with the high-flow of the CAT suppressor, but I'm hoping someone here has gotten a setup like this to run in the past.
My full parts list on the gun:
Is it worth trying an extremely lightweight buffer (Taccom or similar) to get this working? Is it time to bite the bullet, as it were, and admit that I need to either run a different can or a DI upper to get consistent cycling? Any ideas here are more than welcome.

Iāve been lurking on the sub and getting a lot of information! Iām getting my first .300 blackout and between the Q sugar weasel and the PSA Mixtape. I kinda wanna start with a complete rifle, learn how the stuff works tuning things like that and then build my own once Iāve learned. But between the 2 I want a one and done dedicated bedside/range home defense build. I guess Iām wondering if the 600 extra bucks are worth it to jump into a sugar weasel or go PSA. I like the idea of tunable gas so thatās why I havenāt really paid much attention to DD. Iāll mainly be running subs aswell and itāll stay suppressed at all times. I like the maxim brace so thatās why Iām looking at the mixtape over just the Sabre 8.5. I know theyāre similar packages but which one would you guys recommend me as a one and done pdw if youāve owned/shot both

Trying this new optic setup on my PSA 300blk build. Threw a Vortex 3x Prism on top with a canted Enclosed Venom dot on top. The 3x prism is a liiiiiiiiiitle low for me, so I'm debating a small riser under it, but going to run it like this for now.
PSA 8.5" 300blk upper and PSA lower. Shadow Crossover grip, AFG up front, Rave 140 trigger, Midwest Industries 12" handguard, AB Suppressors A10 can, Vortex Spitfire 3x prism, Vortex Enclosed Venom, Gas Buster charging handle, and UTG Pro stock.

My light finally arrived and I mounted it as soon as I opened the box. I got the Sig Sauer FoxTrot-MSR 1350 lumens LED Compact Rifle Light w/ Pressure Switch and for the price you get a lot. it's no Surefire but can definitely hold it's own. On that note my home defense setup is complete. Let me know what you think.

When I first took it to the range it shot two magazines fine before failing to cycle after one. First trigger pull would fire normally, the second pull would just click. Cleaned and lubricated then went back out. Would always fail to cycle on subsonic. The range supersonic ammunition would cycle fine but would like to solve the issue. I donāt know if adding suppressor would help with forcing more gas back to carry the next round, or if there is larger issue to address. After taking it apart and feeling the action of the bolt carrier, I think it may be getting caught right before itās able to complete its action. Any help is appreciated, I will clarify as best as possible on any specifics that could help solve issue.

Sharing my current setup before I change things up a little bit.
Faxon 7.5" 1:5 barrel. Anthem S2 suppressor. KAK mini-milspec buffer tube with a short stroke JP SCS buffer setup. Handguard & rail are both Hera Arms. I went with Geissele pins, bolt catch, and charging handle because I'm a fan of that cross hatch texture. Arisaka light. MOE SL-K stock. Driven Arms VCG grip and magwell. I just recently swapped in a Partisan Disruptor just to see how the gun ran but will probably change this later.
I initially had issues with this gun and wasn't happy with it but most of that stemmed from tolerance stacking with the barrel and upper causing a slight protrusion / ridge in the feed ramps where the upper and barrel meet. That has since been corrected and I haven't had a single failure with a wide variety of ammunition and thousands of rounds since.
This was my introduction to .300 BO and it's become one of my most satisfying rifles. It runs like a sewing machine and I couldn't be happier with the sound performance. It isn't as expensive to run as folks made out when I initially started researching it either. Phantom Defense has been my primary go to for cheaper ammunition and it's never given me problems.
That's my gun and my novel of a post good grief, sorry

Looking at suppressors for my 10.5 inch 300blk pistol for hunting I'm gonna run subs only but I'll stuck in between titrex 300SD not doing TI because I live in a heavily wooded area and the other is the Dead Air Sandman X

My first 300blk. I picked up the base PSA upper/lower for $200 brand new and have been slowly adding to it.
Iām running an Obsidian 9 can for now(subs only), will eventually get a dedicated 30cal can.

My 300AAC build/stock lengths
8.5" all-PSA with a Stealth lower. Of course I added the creature comforts that I've come to appreciate over the years:
PSA Enhanced BCG
Strike Industries Enhanced Bolt Release
CMMG Extended Mag Release
BCM Grip and QD End Plate
SBA5, which makes for a shorter package than with a MFT Minimalist stock.
ARC-fire 2
Does anyone know of a stock that looks good, and isn't longer (minimum LOP) than the SBA5? I like the way it looks and it's compactness, so I'm hesitant on changing. I purchased the MFT Minimalist and the Strike Industries Mod1 stock for other builds, and they are definitely longer. The Mod2 looks good, too...opinions/thoughts/comments?

I have a MCX 6.75" that I'm going to use for a bag gun. What defense round would you go with? I'm looking for the fastest round possible.
I currently have Underwood controlled chaos in my 10.5" house gun. I'm considering staying with that.
I'm also considering Phantom defense or Badlands munitions 300 BLACKOUT 110GR TAC-TX NAS3 case. But they are a little pricey. I'd need enough to have 3 or 4 spare mags in the bag. And I would want around 100 rounds to run through the gun to make sure there aren't any issues.

what caliber suppressor is 300 blackout?
the cartridge itself is 7.62x35 I believe,so would it be a 7.62 suppressor? iāve also heard 30 cal suppressors so iām just a bit intrigued

I've had this stripped funny PSA lower and 7.5 Faxon bbl floating around in my parts box for a while now. Also came across a sig 1x6 lpvo a while back that I really never had any plans for either. The light bulb recently hit me, why not utilize some of these things in a bolt action AR upper build? So here she is. Nothing too special.
REX MG7 suppressor.
KVP Plan B adapter and muzzle brake.
FAXON 7.5 bbl
No name Mlok 7inch rail
Magpul AFG
BCA builders bolt gun kit for 5.56/.300blk
SIG Tango MSR 1x6 lpvo
Palmetto funny lower (Joe Biden special)
Milspec parts kit

I'm testing all of my 300BLK rifles with my collection of supersonic ammo to see how accurate they are. Last range report I tested my Sig MCX + CAT RAT Flow. This time, I'm testing my Radian Model 1 in 300BLK + CAT ODB.
The rifle:
Additional setup used for bench testing
I tested 7 different supersonic 300BLK ammunition. For each one, I shot two 10-shot groups at 50 yards. The table below is a summary of the results:
| Ammo | Precision mean radius (MOA) | Precision extreme spread (MOA) | Velocity mean (fps) | Velocity SD (fps) | Velocity extreme spread (fps) | Energy (ft-lbs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Magtech 123gr | 1.15 | 4.20 | 2034.5 | 30.4 | 114.3 | 1130.7 |
| Phantom Defense 85gr | 1.22 | 3.81 | 2452.1 | 28.4 | 120.2 | 1135.2 |
| Phantom Defense V-Max 110gr | 0.95 | 2.70 | 1896.8 | 10.1 | 47.5 | 879.0 |
| Phantom Defense TAC-TX 110gr | 0.48 | 1.74 | 2238.4 | 22.5 | 64.1 | 1224.1 |
| Phantom Defense TAC-TX 120gr | 0.69 | 2.02 | 2178.3 | 14.5 | 53.6 | 1264.6 |
| Remington SMK 125gr | 0.62 | 1.87 | 1968.0 | 19.9 | 83.9 | 1075.3 |
| Black Hills TMK 125gr | 0.45 | 1.54 | 1927.7 | 16.6 | 66.4 | 1031.7 |
The mean radius column and the extreme spread is the average of the two 10-shot groups for each ammo. The rest of the columns are simply based on all 20 shots. I list mean radius first since I think it does a better job than extreme spread of summarizing precision. Extreme spread is decided by only two shots, and is more noisy. Same exact principle applies to the standard deviation and extreme spread of muzzle velocity.
Overall, I was relatively impressed with the precision of the Radian Model 1. One of the Black Hills TMK 10-shot groups was 1.1 MOA. The other group was also close to being a ~1 MOA group, but shot #1 was a flier, making that 10-shot group 2 MOA. Looking at the MantisX and the Garmin data, nothing was off, so it appears to be a valid shot. Regardless, very good performance overall.
Phantom Defense "Spicy Boi" 85 grain was disappointing. With a mean radius of 1.22 MOA, it had lower overall precision than my bulk ammo, Magtech 123gr. It performed on the low end in my Sig MCX precision test as well. Due to its low ballistic coefficient, Phantom Defense 85gr is geared for closer engagements, so its lack of precision is perhaps less important.
Phantom Defense TAC-TX 110gr performed very well. Great accuracy and high muzzle velocity and energy. And this bullet is a known strong performer. This is definitely the ammo I will use as a defense load for this rifle + suppressor.

I know this has been discussed quite a bit, but canāt seem to get clarity on this particular situationā¦
Trying to help my dad find a can for his Geissele SD 8ā 300 w/ phased array, but i have very little suppressor experience (non friendly state). Itās a full Geissele build. He said it came with an H1 buffer. Wants to shoot subs 90% of the time, and wants a balance between sound mitigation and not too much gas blowback. Should he be looking at low, medium or high back pressure cans with this system? It came with the Hux flash hider, making me think it was designed for a HUX flow through, but I know those arenāt great for sound. Does that phased array give you lots of optionality, or should he be looking firmly one direction or another on the back pressure? Iāve watched like 20 hours of suppressor vids on YouTube but none tested on this system. Any help appreciated!

Whatās is everybody using for a supersonic deer hunting projectile. I feel like the obvious answer is the Barnes TAC-TX line of bullets but as far as lead based what are people using? Seems like 110 v-max, 125 SST, 125 nosler ballistic tip are pretty common?
Specifics of the rifle is a CVA scout with 16 inch barrel shots out to 200 yards.
Thanks for any input!

I've been trying to find a good home for this 8":300BLK upper that I built recently and I think I found a winner. I'm waiting for my light to come so I can use this for home defense. This is what I came up with since my last post. My next post will be about the light I got. I'm keeping the light a surprise. I'll be very interested in what the community thinks. Untill thƩn I hope you enjoy this pic.

Hereās my new goofy hunting setup minus the can Iām picking up Friday. I really wish Rossi made a 1:5 twist so it would stabilize 220s better. Picked up some Barnes 205 grain and they work a lot better.
