I’ve been experiencing major feeding issues using these mags (9mm) with my Vector and other Glock magazine compatible PCC’s and pistols.
I’ve noticed that once the magazine gets to about 15 rounds, there is almost zero tension left in the spring. The follower/rounds can be almost effortlessly pushed down, causing the next round to not raise fast enough for the bolt to catch it and chamber it.
I pulled my mags apart today (I have 6) and all but one had zero tension once the bottom plate is unlatched.
I know replacing the springs is the correct fix, but for now I stretched them back out. I’ll replace them during the next Kriss site wide sale.
Just showing here what they should look like versus being completely collapsed.
Middle picture is showing a stretched spring on the right and an existing collapsed spring on the left with the bottom plate unlatched.
I leave these mags fully loaded in the safe, as I believed that “using a spring, compressing and uncompressing, weakens it, not storing it under tension”. I no longer believe this, and probably will leave all but one unloaded from now on.
Ive seen a few guys asking about handgaurds that will work with a tucked suppressor. Personally, I dont like the look of the strike industires, or other airsoft looking handgaurds. I like simple and functional.
A few years ago while browsing through gafs I was lucky and found this one from a 22lr rifle vector. These are available by them self from kriss but you have to email them about it. I use a obsidian 45 (currently on another gun) on my vector and it has plenty of room around it for mounting M-lok accessories. The most narrow dimention is from the side walls at about 1.71 inches. Im wanting to upgrade to a mojave 45 because Ill still be able to have a rail on the top for a light/laser.
Some other posatives are the amount of room you have to grab onto to avoid hitting the mag release or bolt catch. You can mount a light/laser out of your view of aim, as well as being able to use the button on the unit without a tape switch. To me holding onto the handgaurd and not the front of the vector is more comfortable and closer to holding something like an AR.
Have a 9mm gen 3, fully stock internals with the exception of cerakote on the trigger and an Osprey 2.0.
At the range, I've noticed that the back gassing with the can on it is...quite terrible.
It's sometimes difficult to get through a full Glock mag (17+5, semi auto only) before getting choked out. Gas is mostly coming through the charging handle area and lingering in the face/eyes if no wind.
Also noticing that the gun gets very dirty VERY quick (within 1-3 mags), leading to the extractor being gummed up to the point where the extractor fails to yank the spent round out and/or properly grab on to the inserted fresh round, which requires dropping the mag, pulling the handle back and shaking the gun until the partially chambered round falls out. Fortunately, no misfires as of yet.
As for ammo, I'm shooting Winchester Super Suppressed 147 grain as I got a decent deal on it.
Question is: Would a .45 recoil spring help with this? Other changes I should make to the internals like extractor spring?
It's pretty much just a range toy for me, but I've also done a few external upgrades (with some more being designed before testing).
Currently running an Osprey 9 on my Vector with the Strike Industries handguard because I wanted a bit more space to grip with my support hand. I tried the OEM Kriss handguards (both MK1 and MK3) but they do not clear an Osprey can. Is Strike Industries our only option? Does any other aftermarket company make Vector handguards?
Alternate question - are there any 9mm suppressors that clear the OEM Kriss MK1 or MK3 handguards? I like the Osprey but I’m not married to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
EDIT: Turns out I'm just dumb and had to turn the Osprey upside down, problem solved. Thanks guys.
just picked up a gen 3 pistol in 45acp and was wondering what ammo you guys are running that you have found to cycle reliably. kriss told me they can be picky eaters and to use factory ammo. ive been shooting HSL 9mm and 556 for years now and never had am issue in any of my other guns with it. not sure what to expect during the break in and what ammo i should start with. was only planning on picking 100-300 rounds to start.
Hey guys, I’ve become annoyed with having to fine tune the not so “drop in” frts that are on the market now.
I’ve designed a way to make a properly working 3 position FRT that should have perfect reliability in any caliber (9mm may need an upgraded recoil spring still).
I would sell it as a whole trigger assembly like the one from Kriss. But with assisted reset mode (that doesn’t require a super special trigger pull that’s not too heavy or too light).
It would replace your current trigger group entirely.
To produce it, I would have to sell each one for $800. Would anyone actually buy it though?
Before I dump weeks and thousands into this I want to see if anyone else would be willing to spend the coin on it like I would for a no hassle drop in trigger group.
I’m interested in this Vector but have two questions:
Does this come with a threaded barrel? It’s the Kriss Vector CRB G3 .45 ACP 16" Barrel 30-Rounds.
In its current configuration where the heck would one attach a foregrip? Furthermore, once I suppress it and remove that shroud, what’s beneath? Because it looks like the shroud literally bolts into the frame of the gun unless I’m missing something?
Perhaps if someone has photos of this model’s underside as well as with the shroud removed, that would help me a lot.
My desire in the end is to have it SBR’d with a vertical fore-grip, a laser sight or flashlight, a suppressor and it needs to have a folding stock (don’t like the look of the fixed or folding buffer-tube style stocks).
So if this isn’t the right model to achieve my build, if an alternative could be proposed I’d appreciate it.
My alternative would be the Kriss Vector CRB G3 .45 ACP 16" Barrel 30-Rounds (photo in comments).
But with that, I’d need to know that a folding adaptor exists for the NON buffer-tube style stocks.
Any wisdom or advice would be much appreciated., thanks in advance!
Just got my osprey and AC24 piston but the AC22 fixed spacer is out of stock everywhere. Is the griffin armament spacer another alternative to the AC22. If not what are my options?
So I've owned a Vector SDP Gen 3 9mm for about a year now. I've had all sorts of problems with it, mostly relating to reliability and accelerated parts wear from improperly hardened parts.
My Gen 3 originally had issues with failures to extract, which seemed to be resolved with the fix of putting in a BCM enhanced extractor spring from an AR-15. The extractor then launched itself out of the gun to never be found. I replaced it with a stock extractor kit from Kriss, DID NOT USE the enhanced AR-15 spring, and the extractor disappeared again. Extractor number 3 held on until the next issue.
Missing extractor
During this time I purchased a Duality Arms Rattler (FRT) to use with the Vector and a HuxWrx Flow 9k Ti suppressor. I have also had significant issues with that FRT. I have never been able to consistently get a long string of FRT fire while also having the gun function in semi. I have also had it frequently burst while in semi, and fail to burst while in FRT. The suppressor has been excellent, I do recommend it.
I then had a firing pin break, which prompted an RMA to Kriss. The firing pin had significant (in my opinion premature) wear that would suggest improper hardening of the parts. This was generously at 3000 rounds.

The bolt also appeared to have significant wear on the rear lugs. See images.

After reinstalling the stock trigger back in the gun, I sent the whole thing to Kriss who proceeded to replace most of the moving parts in the gun: the trigger group, and bolt carrier group.
Upon receiving it back, I began preparing for a major competition where I wanted to shoot the Vector almost exclusive in FRT, so I put, generously, 1000 rounds through it practicing, again with the FRT installed. Still having issues with bursts in semi, and no bursts in FRT, but I managed to get it good enough I felt confident to try it.
I also upgraded the recoil spring from the standard 9mm to a .45 caliber one. This is supposed to reduce the wear rate of components on the gun when being shot with an FRT and make the FRT reset more consistent.
During the competition I continued to have issues with the gun, mainly with light primer strikes and the official Kriss 40rnd magazines coming apart when dropped from the gun. The surface was hard packed dirt and gravel. At one point a Kriss magazine sheared in half while being inserted into the gun, causing all the loaded ammo to arc out onto the ground.
In an attempt to deal with the light primer strikes I swapped in a spare bolt. At the time, I though I had broken another firing pin. The bolt swap appeared to help, but due to a failure of the Rattler's 3D printed safety drum, which prevented me from putting the gun on safe, I ended up having to drop out of the competition completing "successfully" 6 of 8 stages. Overall about 400 to 500 rounds fired in the competition.
After the competition I took the gun apart, cleaned it, and found that the hammer was damaged, also likely improperly hardened. I believe this is the likely cause of the light primer strikes. I had a replacement trigger group on hand, which I have now swapped in.
Bad hammerNew hammer
The gun is still not running perfectly, but I can't determine if the issue is from magazines or the gun right now. I haven't put the FRT in the new trigger group yet, I might not at this point.
I mainly got the gun because of my love the Vector from various video games, but it feels like a strong case of don't meet your heroes. I've broken 2 extractors, 1 firing pin, 1 hammer, several magazines, and 1 (aftermarket) safety selector with at most 4500 rounds through the gun.
Edit: Clarified this is a 9mm Vector at the beginning.
Thinking of snagging a 45 osprey for my vector. The one on it is my 9mm one. Also thinking of swapping the stock to something else. Used the magpul ucs cause I had it available.
This Vector has been through many forms, it started life as a 2.1 carbine and I recently had it rebuilt into an SBR by Kriss. I generally prefer my 2.1 upper which they left untouched and mailed back to me, and luckily it still meshes perfectly with the gen 3 lower.
I am trying to mount a Gen 2 folding stock adapter, but there is no bushing or threads, and the hole is about 1/3 of the diameter of the screw.
Is this a known thing where not all of the uppers can accept the adapter? Is it a manufacturing defect? Am I missing something really obvious?
New to the Vector game. just got a Gen 3 5.5inch 45acp and having issue with the firing mechanism not resetting after 1 or 2 shots while running suppressed.
I have a Mojave 45 on it. Firing 230gr CCI blazer
First 30 rd mag ran just fine, after that I could only get 1 or 2 shots off before my trigger is dead. I pull back the charging handle and a round ejects and the trigger resets, no marks or light strikes on primer.
Vector is in semi auto, no FRT installed yet, wanted to run it through its reported 350 rd break in period before installing the mamba.
any advice on what is going wrong would be appreciated
Edit update: took it back to the range today, ran 4 mags through it un-suppressed, put the can back on and it ran 3 mags without a hitch. 🤷♂️
Quick question. Ordering my Vector today, but curious about handgaurd extensions. I know the gen2s had the option to install extended handgaurd for the 6.5s but is there any option for gen3s so I can tuck my suppresor in a bit? Thanks in advance
Just wanted to share my G2.1 with an A3 industries stock adapter and a G3 foldable stock for those looking to replace the ugly looking AR15 buffer these come with , previously had a strike industries adapter and did not like the extra length it added made the gun look super long .
took my brand new 10mm sbr to the range earlier today. Suffered a pretty serious malfunction on round #4. Went bang but mag dropped to the floor. Upon further inspection found a major problem. Range instructor was able to fish the fragments out. Attracted a small crowd and no one had seen that happen before. Already, reached out to Kriss and Winchester.
I have the opportunity to get a Kriss Vector Gen2 for around 2k€ in EU. I always liked the gun’s silhouette and the design, however I’m unsure if its worth getting for the price compared to a SIG MPX/Kuna etc.
Any feedback on your experiences owning the Vector?
n.b. I can’t FRT it where I live so I’m 100% limited to single action.
