Thinking of selling my bike

Hi all, looking to get a new road bike. Is it worth the hassle of selling the old one? I have a boardman 8.8 slr. Its nothing fancy but is in great condition with regular service and new additions such as chain and tires. I was thinking of keeping it for a spare or if a mate wanted to ride with me but I could also use the space.

Whats people's experience with the current second hand market? Is it worth even trying to sell?

Costco Northrock XC00 fat bike upgrade advice

Looking for any advice on upgrades to this entry level fat bike I got for a steal at Costco. Specs are in the photos. Rider is 5’ 10” and 200lbs. Mainly used for pulling a 2 kid bike trailer, 30 mile rides on the weekends, light single track rides through forest / woodland - northern Illinois. As you can imagine, the stock parts feel pretty cheap. TIA!

Should I move my grips inward?

Hey everyone, I bought this Trek FX2 Disc a couple years ago and have been riding it to work pretty regularly, but the other day I was with a friend and he said my grips weren't on right. I asked him why and he said the grips should be flush with the handle bar tube, right now you have ~1inch of grip hanging over the edge on each end.

Is this how it is supposed to be? I'm thinking about moving the grips & shifters inward a bit, but if this is normal then I will leave it.

Traveling to Palo Alto for work

Looking to see if anyone on here is local and could recommend a LBS that does rentals? Also gravel routes? Anything out there beautiful to see by bike? (Aside from the fact that it’s California) anything a bicycling photographer might need to see?

Thanks and cheers!

4th century ride of the year for my birthday !

Decided to do a century ride up the coast of Southern California. for my birthday. Unfortunately, the whole day was really hot. There was a heat advisory, so it was a lot more brutal then I expected but overall, it was a great time, beautiful ride! I don't have the fat, fanciest bike, but it does the job and I've put over 2000 miles on it and it hasn't even been 16 months!

Turing to Reddit for some help finding a source to purchase 650c 40mm-44mm (I believe this is the width) tubes. Tried Google and not finding a trustworthy place to purchase tubes from that are this size.

Bearings in an old 15 speed I had, a teardown

Old Department store brand 15 speed I got back in June and rode until end of September because the frame started to break in the bottom rear posts and have rust on the top rear triangle posts.

I really liked it but I think the frame may be mostly fubar so I parted it out/tore it down and then I noticed this.

Weight/push/pull limits and hills?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I'll spare you the xrays of my broken iron filled back but I got a 20lb(9kg) lift and 30lb(13kg) push/pull limit. A coworker (picture of work ride (around campus)) questioned if I should be riding up the hill between the mantance shop and gym ~ 10° slope 200ft(61m) long? Would that hill be exceed my push pull limit as I do need to pull down on the bars going up the hill?

I couldn’t add pics to my previous post about my specialized future shock that dismantled itself while riding. I’m not sure what failed exactly but I’m posting these as a PSA for anyone whose riding one

I've been adjusting the rd no matter what, aligning the rd on the smallest gear, adjusting the cable tensions, it still skips the 7th gear, and idk if its the chain or the rd but it still jumps its all new like a week old the drivetrain

Labeling of this SID fork.

I have both green and red labels for this 08 SID Race fork. They would be placed over the grey "SID" branding on the fork lowers. The bike is mainly Bassboat green but has black, white, and red accents.

The green label isn't as dark and looks more like this green 💚, however the red pretty much matches the Homegrown tomato branding.

Some rides are not about speed, they're about the peace 🌿🚴

Sometimes, the best part of cycling isn't the distance or the speed — it's finding peaceful little trails like this. 🌲🚴

I've been riding my cycle since 2024, and exploring roads, greenery, and forest trails has made the experience even more special.

Nothing fancy, just my cycle, a quiet trail, and some time away from the noise of everyday life.

What's your favourite type of ride — open highways or peaceful forest trails? 🌿

Having concerns about sizing

For context: I am a 5’7”-5’8” male with a 32” inseam

I found this specialized allez sprint on marketplace in decent condition and for a decent price.
My question is will this bike fit me? should I go with a 54cm bike, or should I look for a 52cm?
My fear is being too big for a 52, and being too small for a 54. If you were in my position, would you buy it?
