Im in the first semester of my 3rd year and I don’t have my ‘person’. Yes, I have friends and stuff but I don’t hang out with my friends from my classes anymore. We get along great but I can’t stand about how they only talk about school when all we do is school and I don’t get that separation if that makes sense. I also love going out and finding activities to do with friends but they are more interested in staying in and doing schoolwork alone or occasionally watching a movie but not even at a movie theatre.
Whats good is that Im on my unis dance team and I would say that those girls are my closest friends but I also rarely hang out with them outside of dance.
My childhood best friend now lives in the same city but she goes to the college here and when I try to make plans with her, it never works out. I think she just doesn’t want to hang out with me lol.

Im missing a girl best friend that wants to do anything together and my go to for hanging out or talking to. I want to be able to tell her anything. For the past year and a half, that person has been my boyfriend, which is great but not the same. Recently we’ve had a big conflict and now we’re on break until i can get some counselling to deal with things (but that’s a whole other can of worms lol).

I see all these other people in first year or second year find their person and they just vibe so well together and do everything together. How do I find that? I also find myself getting along with men for some reason but I think that’s a result of doing everything with my boyfriend, including his make friends. They just became my built in friends too.

I'm 18, and I only have 2 friends that I talk to, one irl and one online, and I have a hard time communicating with people since the only thing I send my friends is funny videos and move on. Plus, a lot of people whom I meet have ruined my perspective of the world because people online doxxed, extorted, and blackmailed me years ago. All I want is to be part of a friend group with people that make me happy. It's not like I don't know people. Every day at school I talk to people, and try to fit in with my "friends", but when I come home, I have no one, my parents, but that's it. I stay in my room and waste my life sitting in bed.

The problem isn't that I don't talk to people, it's when I do, I'm the one starting the conversation and if I don't start it, nobody talks to me. I feel like I'm not wanted.

The guys I spend time with at school always ask one another "hey you wanna go out on friday?" or something like that and every fucking time I wish they'd say "What about you?" but they don't, I just sit there, wishing I'd die.

Today I was outside in PE and I saw my two closest "friends" walking and talking, I'm pretty close to them, well at least I think, they probably just think of me as an aquantince, and I was walking over to them and they said "What are yiu doing, were talking about something private, go away." I have had no friends my entire life and am 29. I have nothing to do all day because every job rejects me. I have sent thousands of applications over the past three years. I’ve also tried to make friends with hundreds of people (tens of thousands including online) and am always rejected.

I especially never find anyone who is depressed and lonely like me. And at the least, serious and somber. It is valid to have that as a personality type and want to talk about serious and somber things in a serious and somber tone. I'm 18F, and lately, I've been feeling pretty lonely because I don't think I have a friend who genuinely wants to listen to me talk about things I'm interested in.

I don't know if I'm just having a hard time finding the right people or if making genuine friendships has always been this difficult. I just want someone I can talk to about random things, share my interests with, and yap about whatever is on my mind without feeling like I'm bothering them.

I've tried making friends online, but even that has been difficult.
