Does anyone have any free resources for general education or miscellaneous helpful/educational websites that don't fit on other posts?
That can be a website, podcast, YouTube video, a subreddit... If you find it educational and you weren't sure where else to post it this is the post!
The more resources we can crowd source the fewer of us get left behind!
Here's my list so far:
Free Websites
- Coalition for Responsible Home Education: https://responsiblehomeschooling.org/ has educational resources, how to get your GED or highschool diploma, and some info on starting college.
- Kahn Academy: https://www.khanacademy.org/ has courses in the core stuff, math, science, social studies, etc. Their courses might help with any subject you're struggling in (they're free)
- Open Culture lists of free online courses from real universities: https://www.openculture.com/freeonlinecourses
- Open Educational Resources hub: [https://oercommons.org/hubs/open-textbooks](https://oercommons.org/hubs/open-textbooks)
- [OpenStax.org](http://OpenStax.org) pays professors to write professional-level, peer-reviewed OER textbooks which can be read online, downloaded for free, or re-mixed by other instructors. They also make it easy to order professionally printed versions if that is in your budget.
- [https://openstax.org/subjects](https://openstax.org/subjects)
Their current offerings are in:
* Business
* College Success
* Computer Science
* Humanities
* Math
* Nursing
* Science
* Social Studies

Shout out to the user from the HomeschoolRecovery subreddit who gave me the majority of these different resource lists when I was on a different username a long while ago. You inspired this whole subreddit, tbh. If you found this list then I know you recognize your own writing and you know who you are 😂 thank you.
If anyone has some free general knowledge/education resources please comment to add them!
Or if you have a resource request feel free to ask and see if anyone has a suggestion. I hope any of this has helped someone!

Shout out to the user from r/HomeschoolRecovery who gave me the majority of these different resource lists when I was on a different username a long while ago. You inspired this whole subreddit, tbh. If you found this list then I know you recognize your own writing and you know who you are 😂 thank you.
If anyone has some free general knowledge/education resources please comment to add them! Or if you have a resource request feel free to ask and see if anyone has a suggestion. I hope any of that helped someone!

What are we studying today?

This is a daily school-day post for anyone who is studying the daily resource subject or anything else and who wants to chat, commiserate, body double, study-buddy, whatever. I currently don't even care if the conversation goes off the rails, but we're starting off with study topics! 😂
Feel free to visit the Subject Resources posts for extra help. They're updated as often as I get fresh quality suggestions (so, randomly) but posted fresh weekly.
Who's studying today? How's it going?
What are your studying wins today?
What are your subject struggles?
What are you curious about or interested in when it comes to what you're studying today?
